*** Official Jaguars Thread - Team Putting #DTWD to The Test *** (1 Viewer)

Not sure what to take away from the past week

- "Good Effort, good game" against KC second stringers.

- Kelce's ejection might be the most Jaguars thing a Jaguars opponent has done to themselves this year.

- Refs screwed the pooch on the fumble in the end zone then offered a lame explanation

- AR15 refuses to lay out for yet another poorly thrown ball when wide open.

- Bortles actually completes a TD pass to AR15 one play after almost taking a CHiefs corner's eye out with a pass.

- Jags running game improved from really bad to subpar.

Question about Allen Hurns.  I believe he is listed as having a concussion but ont the play that he was injured, Allen Robinson dove into the back of his legs as he was blocking.  It was clearly a lower leg injury and looked pretty bad.  He limped off the field and was next shown on the trainers table.  There didnt appear to be any head injury.

So I am wondering, why would the Jaguars list his injury diffferent from what happened?  How is a concussion better than a leg injury?

That was the first injury you saw. He got concussed on another play much later.

Concussion for Hurns

Having returned after sustaining a right ankle injury, Jaguars receiver Allen Hurns was unable to finish because of a concussion.

The first injury: Hurns was blocking on the perimeter on a receiver screen pass to Allen Robinson when Robinson fell into the back of Hurns’ legs. Hurns needed the help of both trainers to leave the field, but returned on the next possession.

“That’s tough,” Robinson said. “For me, it’s a bang-bang situation trying to get the first down and just trying to stay up knowing those guys are outside really straining on their blocks for me.”

The second injury: Hurns left for good on an incomplete pass over the middle with 3:16 left in the third quarter.

Hurns was at his locker after the game but is prohibited from speaking to the media until he is medically cleared.

It is the second documented concussion for Hurns. He was carried off the field via stretcher in last November’s loss to San Diego and missed the following game.

My best guess for next couple weeks is:

Lose @DET

Lose @BUF

Then they finally fire Gus before home game vs Denver.

No matter what happens today, you can't fire Gus this week because

-worst week for interim coach with B2B away games and Thanksgiving thrown in

- bad PR firing a guy the three days before thanksgiving

If they haven't fired him by now, I don't think they'll fire him in season.

The fact that they haven't fired him leads me to believe that Caldwell will be gone as well.

I hope it happens.

Next Tuesday is 5 year anniversary of Jags firing JDR. He was 3-8 that year. He was 68-71 with Jags. Gus would have to go 54-27 to match that.

How JAX did not win that game yesterday was puzzling.  Who is the idiot who jumped offsides on 4th down and 5 from the 50?  No way in hell the Lions were going for it there with 3 minutes left in the game.  Everybody in the stadium knew they were going to try and draw the Jags offside then take a delay of game and punt. That play was a killer.

SenDerrick Marks.

MSN Sports- Jags flagged for penalty that hadn't been called in 18 years.

The team dropped to 2-11 on the year with their 25-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and in the loss, they committed a penalty that hasn’t been called in 18 years.

The penalty committed was a delay of game … on the kicker. Yes, the team was flagged for a delay of game on the kickoff.

When looking at the NFL rulebook, it makes sense as to why it has been nearly two decades since the last time the penalty was called. Teams have from the time after a score until the official whistles for the kickoff to take place, and then an additional 25 seconds after that.

It’s clearly a tough feat to accomplish, but it just has been that kind of year for the Jaguars.

And somehow ### clown Gus Bradley is still employed. 14-47

Why did they wait until the game was over?

This was really the best chance I had of seeing my life long dream come true, of seeing a coach fired in-game.
I'm thinking it may be a good idea to get a job with one of Mr. Khan's companies. Never have I seen more patience exercised then was the case of the tenure of Gus Bradley.

I don't get Caldwell sticking around.

Why would anybody take a job under him? If he is gone jn a year, new guy will want his own coach.

I gave to wonder if Gus was told to bench Bortles and refused.

Just my personal conjecture

Jags might as well see if Brandon allen has any clue in this league.

Shad Khan has no clue what he's doing.
I don't think I ever shared this here, but I met some Fulham officials when I was living in London.  These were not front office types, more like former great players that have career jobs with the club, ambassador types.  But they knew everyone in the front office well, kind of had free run throughout the club.

I couldn't believe how open they were about their disdain for how Khan was running things.  It wasn't malicious, they all seemed to think that he was a nice guy.  But I think they mentioned one of his sons was operating things?  Their stance was that the team was spending wildly on players based purely on stats, and that the front office pretty much had no clue how to scout soccer players.  As in, they were paying transfer fees based purely off the previous year's stats, with no real scouting.  I found that shocking.

Makes sense. Fulham fans hate the Khans.

If the reports are true that the owner Khan let him go so he could enjoy the holidays with his family...that's a lovely thing to say and I actually believe Khan. That owner despite the team record continues to impress me and his patience and genuine passion for life is going to pay at some point. My opinion of him has not waivered.

Good Luck Jax, better times ahead.

It is funny they didn't wait until they got back to Jacksonville.  Is it normal to fire a guy in the visitors locker room?  It looks like Walking Boot almost got his wish.
The way it was explained was that Khan is in London. If he waited until the Jaguars landed here, It would have been 4 AM  for Khan.

Supposedly Coughlin recommended Marrone and Jaguars twitter is rife with that possibility.

Ugh.

 Jaguars would look so clueless.

If Marrone was the answer,  why not fire Gus sooner when you're in probably the weakest division on league?

Homers, can you help me understand where you'd rank your WRs headed into 2017? ARob, Lee, Hurns or something different?

They are clueless. Loser coach should have gotten fired after the TNF debacle.

I don't have any issue with Doug Marrone becoming a HC again. I do have a problem with him being the Jaguars HC. They need to get rid of the loser stench completely.

Jaguars giving zero news about head coach search. Supposedly front  office unhappy with Gus firing leaks.

Or maybe worried about perception if their top choices turn them down
