*** Official Jaguars Thread - Team Putting #DTWD to The Test *** (2 Viewers)

I'm all for the Calais Campbell rumors.

Jags will be in the Bouye sweepstakes,  not sure they can land him.

Also have to wonder how.much power Dave has left as House and Cyprien are let go. And Marks is probably next.

So Alualu is no longer a Jaguar.

I know fans have gotten on him over the years, but he was a good player. It wasn't his fault Gene Smith took him early. Great effort guy.

Jaguars reportedly considering permanent training facility in London http://dlvr.it/Nj4mKp

------------
The new facility would make training easier for the franchise's annual trip to London, and would fuel rumors of the Jags making the move full-time.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have embraced the NFL’s London experiment more than any other team in the league. The Jaguars are the only team to play one game a year in London, and now they’re on their way to becoming an even more permanent fixture.

According to City A.M., the Jaguars are exploring creating a permanent facility in London to make preparation easier for their yearly game.

“The Jags are keen to set up a training facility near Wembley to make it easier for players and staff to prepare when they come to the city for their annual fixture at the national stadium.

“Officials from the Florida-based team say they have held informal discussions with Brent Council about the proposals, which include provision for community use of the facility when the NFL is not in town.”

The Jaguars have long been rumored to be the NFL’s long-desired London franchise. Owner Shahid Khan also owns the Fulham Football Club in London. The franchise seems to agree quite publicly with the rumors that it wants a stake in London, even if team officials won’t go so far to say that the club is committing to the city full-time:

Jags senior vice-president for international development Hussain Naqi told City A.M. in September, before the team’s most recent visit: “We very much view ourselves as London’s team and, the way we have been embraced by Londoners, we think that that is a reciprocal view.”

It’s unclear when the league will make a decision on whether to commit to London with a full-time franchise. New England Patriots owner Robert Krafthas said that the NFL could decide by 2020. When that happens, expect the Jaguars to be the hot name to make the hop across the pond.

Yeah, they're not moving to London, or anywhere else for that matter. That narrative needs to die.

If they open a training facility there, it'll be for one reason- to make more money. It's the NFL way.

One by one TC is dismantling the Caldwell /Gus defense. Skuta waa released opening the way for Poz to move strong side and Myles Jack in middle. Jack and Telvin to be your every down LB. No more 130 tackles a year 6 yards down field for Poz.

As far as 4, my ideal scenario is Cleveland taking Garrett at 1 and then wanting to trade up from 12 for Trubisky. If nothing else maybe that Spurs another team to trade up to 4.

I do not want Fournette at 4. Give me Allen or Solomon Thomas.

Other draft thoughts-

- the Jags taking a QB rumors are getting louder but I can't see that at 4. Trading up from their 2nd rounder for Mahomes maybe?

-no inside info but don't be shocked if ARob is gone. No word about contract negotiations and he seemed really frustrated last year. No doubt he's looking to get paid despite a disappointing season last year.

- Jags need a TE some time this draft.

Why not?  Seems like a good fit for the franchise, rely on the running attack, put less pressure on Bortles who I still think can play in the league and maybe you guys can win more than 5 games a year with that rebuilt defense.

I'm firmly onboard the Do Not Draft Fournette train. Thomas, Allen, Howard- IDC, just draft one of those guys.

Coughlin likes the big guys, so I'm thinking Thomas or Allen if one of them is still there.

The QB issue needs to be addressed. I do think that an early round QB is on the radar.

Even if Caldwell won't admit it, Coughlin knows that Bortles is on borrowed time.

Too many other needs to address qb early in this draft. Need to give Blake one more year bf throwing in the towel.

Don't Iike the color rush uniforms.  But this is the league admitting  that if you don't move the ratings needle, #### you

Color rush uniforms are an embarrassment.

I've never seen a company try to build up its brand and then just flush it down the toilet and then intentionally make their product look like something a high school would be embarrassed to be seen in. You watch a game with them and it doesn't even feel like an NFL game.

Latest Jaguars draft rumor is that the pick at 4 will be a surprise.

Oj Howard? Watson? McCaffrey?

Personally I wonder if this latest rumor is to plant the seed for a trade back if Garrett, Allen, Solomon Thomas go 1-2-3.

Oh and for those folks who insist that the Jags are moving to London -

Jacksonville City Council accepted a $500 Mil proposal from Shad Khan group to develop prime riverfront real estate adjacent to Everbank Stadium

http://www.news4jax.com/news/local/jacksonville/city-reviewing-shipyards-proposal-rankings

Why embark on half a billion dollar investment in the area where your team plays if you're going to move the team? Likewise why move your team if it would endanger your expensive real estate venture?

It would only make sense if the stadium location could be converted to other (more profitable) use. That's probably not the case here

Jaguars blogger

@zach_goodall: We really have 0 clue what the Jaguars are gonna do with the 4th pick. Allen, Thomas, Fournette, Watson, Mahomes, Robinson all seem possible

I wouldn't say no chance of QB at 4 but I think it's  a smokescreen to generate interest in the pick.

They did have Watson and Mahomes in for visit. They have not made a decision to renew Bortles fifth year. Or as Rush would say, maybe they still have made a choice.

The roster decisions so far this off season have appeared to be Coughlin driven.

Personally I think they go QB but not until third round or so. Jax native Nathan Peterman seems to be a trendy mid round mock for Jags.

Mr. Brownstone said:
Go ahead and pencil in an interior lineman for round two now. This won't work without it.
That's about the only thing that's gone right.  There are a couple OL that have dropped. Waiting for somebody to trade up and snipe Forrest Lamp.

First round I was like anybody but Fournette.  Second round anybody but DeShone Kizer.

Yeah, I see Lamp being gone. I imagine he's at the top of TC's board, as he appears more ready to play. I think Lamp will be gone, so Pick 35 will be Cam Robinson, if he's still there.
