*** Official Jerious Norwood Bandwagon*** (1 Viewer)

bloodwashed
"J-Rock," in his 4 preseason games has had some serious highlights, with runs of 62 and 46 while also catching passes of 37 and 34....

I see theres a Lendale White Bandwagon going around...and its a shame someone hasn't started one for this kid....

Reggie Bush who?

There is no way Atlanta can keep this kid off of the field...

Sign me up also.

I had the 2.02 rookie in all 3 of my dynasty leagues. I took Norwood in 2 leagues. It should have been 3.

Actually, there is. The search function is your friend. And Sammy started his bandwagon before Norwood blew up in the preseason.

I feel bad for Warrick Dunn owners. They felt relieved when Duckett was shipped, now they have to worry about Jerious stealing carries. Wouldn't be surprised if the 6'2 240 pound Jackson stole the goaline carries. But that really has nothing to do with this thread.

I've been in the JWoo wagon for a while, but didn't expect to see him do this well so soon.

I STOLE him late in a draft already - he will be the Steal of the Year after Dunn breaks down ( which is inevitable given his age)

Count me in...only Bush looks better to me as a rookie. If Dunn goes down, the Falcons won't miss a beat with Norwood. He should be gold in dynasty leagues and handcuffed to all Dunn owners. I took him as a late flyer in a couple of leagues.

Atlanta won't be able to keep this kid off of the field, but he'll have minimal fantasy impact unless Dunn goes down.

Yeah, I'd admit I'm a little smitten myself. The real question is identifying when you have to take the swing and grab him. Beyond ADP and all the available tools...

I've been on this Wagon for quite some time. Loving my Dunn/Norwood handcuff in two leagues this year!
Ditto. Locked in Dunn and Norwood, and feeling good. Only concern is that Norwood gets too good too fast and starts crowding Dunn and his carries.Think it's more likely that Dunn will get nicked up at some point this season and Norwood will come in and explode. While everyone has been obsessing about Maroney and DeAngelo Williams and Addai, Norwood flew WAY below the radar.

I am on board. It will be interesting to see how he is utilized during the season. I sweated when to take him during my draft last week. Ended up getting him in Round 12 of a 12 team league (mostly guppies though). When I picked him majority of the owners said "Who the heck is that and what team does he play for?" and actually were mocking my pick like I was taking some scrub player. It will be nice to throw the pick back in their faces at some point this season. I was happy to get him but kicking myself that I probably could have let him slide a bit more. I got a bit paranoid that he was on the other owners' radar after his preseason performances and fact that Atlanta traded Duckett (most of my league consists of MSU homers so I figured they would think that if Atlanta traded Duckett that Norwood must be really good to take his spot).Let the regular season begin to see if Norwood is the real deal....

buckle up!
I'm really excited about what this kid can do in the future behind the Atlanta O-Line.I've been toying with the notion of taking him at 1.05 in my keeper league. We keep 10 + 1 rookie from our taxi squad, so I don't really need him this year. It really just depends on who falls to #5, but I am less than enthused about some of the top 5 after seeing them play and a couple I just wasn't that impressed with before the draft. Originally, I was hoping to snag him in the 2nd round, I almost wish he wouldn't put on a show every time he touched the field, so he would stay under the radar.B. Nugget

I took him at 1.13 in my 32 team draft. Got him paired with Jerome Harrison in the 5th round. They'll contribute nicely with Jamal Lewis and Deshaun Foster on my roster.

MMmmmm...I love's me some me!

I saw him play a Pop Warner game and called my shot 14 years ago about how he would overcome the scat back label to one day break out as a possible starter (unfortunately I cannot provide a link because it was before widespread Innernet...kind of like the Bible has no link). I am a freakin' genius. Glad you guys are finally seeing the light.

I drafted him in a league here back in March/April. Glad to see you guys catching up.
yeah i did as well...at 3.03...one of the few plus sides of having an early draft..

Norwood a dynasty stud. NOT THIS YEAR but he will have his day

"Mine is a redraft. If you took him at 3.3 in a redraft, someone should hand you the keys to this bandwagon."

nah...it was a dynasty rookie draft...held early so the sharks get who they want...

I'd like to be on the bandwagon, but I was only able to grab him in my redraft league...lost out in my keeper leagues. :bag:

As a fan of the Bills for years, I can tell you with absolute certainty to stay AWAY from players named Norwood. They will only cause you pain

Oh, I've been driving the Norwood bandwagon for awhile: Norwood BandwagonOnly waited until July until after I'd snagged him in my dynasty rookie draft....

You can never have too many Norwood threads. No worries.

OK, I want to jump on board. Convince though that he belongs in the conversation with Maroney & De. Williams. Why is there such a gap in their dynasty rookie rankings?

Convince me he belongs or explain why he's so far below.

TIA

It's called "HYPE". Since D-Will and Maroney went to bigger schools, they got more TV time. Thus the media types got to write about them more often. Even though Norwood is from a "smaller" less glamorous school he's considered an unknown or not equivalent. But if you've watched any pre-season, the guy has skills. Running and catching. It's all about how much heart you have and how determined you are to prove your doubters wrong.

I haven't watched any Falcons games, but everything I've read has been positive (glowing, actually). Yet I check the rankings and I see a big gap between him and the other names. Even LenDale is ranked significantly higher (and I can't bring myself to draft him).I have a dynasty rookie draft this weekend and I want to feel confident with Norwood should he fall to me.

Can we get some projections on his carries to start the season. Does anyone hear think he will get 10 touches per game. I have a gut feeling Dunn goes down for the dirt nap this year but if he stays healtyh, how many CARRIES CAN NORWOOD GET?

Should he be given serious concideration as the 3rd rookie back taken, assuming Bush and Maroney are 1st and 2nd or is putting him above Deangelo Williams and Addai too much of a bump and pushing the Norwood wagon a little to hard? Before the draft, he was consiered by many to be in that 2nd tier group with Addai. It seems that after the NFL draft Addai was bumped largely due landing on the Colts roster. Williams was higher regarded but his current siuation with Foster makes things a little merkier.

One of the reasons I really liked this draft class (dynasty) was because of Norwood, Drew, & Calhoun. With Young, Leinart, Cutler, Holmes, & Davis going after the big-5 RBs in most rookie drafts, that left the "little-3" RBs at the end of the 1st, top of the 2nd (depending on league size). It's not often you can get talented RBs like Norwood, Drew, & Calhoun in the pick 10 to pick 15 area.

BTW, I know Calhoun hasn't shown much, but I still like him to be their feature back sometime before '08. I have no proof, but I believe Martz may have had something to do with the Calhoun pick. Say what you want, but he reminds me of Marshall Faulk.
