***Official Joe Biden Campaign Thread (2 Viewers)

How will Republicans attack Biden?  Obviously the Ukraine stuff is still out there.  But what else?  I doubt they will try to play a "socialism" card.
He'd be the oldest person elected President (for their first term) ever.  Breaking the record previously held by (checks notes) Donald Trump.

Please tell me this guy is going to have an intelligent ground game and a first rate online/social media presence. His campaign needs to spend like 80% of its resources on the rust belt, NC and Florida. I don't care if he doesn't visit another state in the Union.

How do you Biden fans explain leaving him for dead VERY recently but now being all in?
I think there's a pretty big distinction between Biden's supporters right now and "Biden fans."

It appeared based on the first couple of states that another candidate was building the only coalition of Democratic voters that cut across demographic lines, which has been Biden's real selling point.  South Carolina, and then Super Tuesday after the dropouts exposed that view as wildly off base.  Which means he's unquestionably the most electable candidate in the race.

His new right hand campaign man is Pete.  Who had unquestionably the best ground game and social media game in the race, as evidenced by his going from Mayor of South Bend to serious contender for the nomination despite not having his own money to play with.

I hope you're right.

No offense to Pete, but that great ground game and social media game didn’t even get him into March against a crappy crappy field of candidates

It got him the first state win and first delegates for an openly gay candidate in the history of the country and his only resume bright spots were a year in Afghanistan and being Mayor of a city of 100,000 people.

Meh, the Iowa results were.....something else. How long did it take for us to get them? How reliable are they?

I remember watching a video (here?) where an old woman was all for Pete until someone there told her he was gay. She then wanted to change her vote because of that (yes, gross)

But I wonder how many others had no idea who he was or knew anything about him

Theres a HUGE amount of people in this country that know nothing about these candidates other than their name. Imo

I get this line if thinking

People can vote blue just to oust Trump, but let’s not pretend he’s not “creepy Joe”, seems to be getting ‘forgetful’, is going to be a great president etc
I would like Joe even better if he announces in his inaugural speech that he's only staying on for four years.

Jesus Christ, Dems. You're supposed to be the party of progress. Let's get somebody in there who can't personally remember the Korean War.

Big picture, Joe (and the Dems) will support the Dreamers, be somewhat more compassionate regarding the border situation, acknowledge and begin to address climate change, and (hopefully) make advances on gun control.  I'm happy with that.
well, some of that, if not all, requires 50 votes in the senate

This

All of these months to prepare and the country is left to decide between Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders lol

It’s sad really

I'm all-in on anyone but Trump. I'm sorry, his handling of a possible pandemic has been a ####### disgrace. As an independent, my final straw...

My 7 year old son could do a better job with this.

Sure

But ....when do we stop settling? Don’t we deserve better?

meh
Yes, we deserve a competent leader, but Washington DC is complete swamp, as bad as it has ever been. We need someone who is also less divisive!

And I agree on the assessment, Biden is nothing more than settling on someone else.

ETA: but I'll settle at this point.

Very good point.  I suppose a key benefit of Biden vs. Sanders is that, I think, Biden is more likely to get voters to the polls, and that will have an important trickle-down effect.  I'm sure we'll hear more about that as things continue to solidify over the next few weeks.
