Going to grind pages for my books in the Trollshaws tonight. Gotta kill spiders int he Wolvenvales elites level 41 and 42. If you get exp from those and ant to come along, I'd love to have you along.

First 4 pages from Hillmen around Donnvail in Fasach-Falroid, Angmar
Last 4 pages from Blogmal Orcs at Rammas Deluos in center of Thorhad along the dread statues, Angmar
Last 4 pages also drop from Ongburz Skirmishers in Gorothlad (Thanks Cymb01!)
After that, I will be doing:

Maelstrom and I did the spiders last night for what felt like 7 hours (but was in fact only about 15 minutes). It's just not worth it. Screw that book.Donnvail for me! Regular Mobs for me! Doing that tonight if anyone wants in. We could incorporate that with regular quests in that area if you have them. Pork, Baron, Maelstrom.

Where's the best value in Mobo-CPU combinations at now? Still AMD for value? Has the Duocore from Intel dropped in price enough to make it a better deal? I had planned to upgrade to DX10 this fall so I'm starting to price it out and watch for deals.
Also, I was looking on Newegg at DX-9 cards, and it seems that my 1900GT is dam near the top already, right? In fact, my exact same card is selling 9 months later for more than I paid.
I was thinking about upgrading my CPU and Video Card to the best that I can run on Socket 939, to get me through another year or so. Frankly, I only play LOTRO, but I'd like to play it on Max settings during raids and PVMP, but right now I have to drop down to LOW during Raids, from Very High, to avoid BSODs but I think that may actually be sound card related.

So i just have the GA quests left in the Lone Lands.
After GA I should be lvl 31 maybe 32.
Should I go on to the Troll Shaws, go to North Downs, (one Minstrel quest is sending me to Trestlebridge) or should I go to Evandim???

My captain is leveling fast thanks to a little leveling help that Alros, Fathom and I, and last night, Baron have used. Pair a couple of lowbies with a high-level and blitz through quests instead of relying on PUGs. We can group together with my Captain, Minsc. Almost lvl 21 now. I am thinking my Tarethyn might leave the Pilum to go to the Misfits kinship, which is a kinship formed from 3 merged ones. Lots of good guys there with a lot of casual play and helping one another without raiding time commitments. Any FBG's that want to jump over as well let me know.
I am still very much wanting to be on TS to chat with you guys and to quest with ya.

Hey guys, PorkJohnson is leaving middle earth. I know, I know. You're all broken up about it but I've not really been playing in weeks. I'll be on today selling off and boarding up the windows. Those of you that I have grouped with regularly should check your mailboxes in the morning because there might be a little something for you there.
I had some good times, but I'm ready for a new game. I'll be preoccupied by the football he next few weeks and then I'll be looking at the next game, which I hope will be a shooter. Keep me posted on the BF2 football league. I hope we keep that one going.

I think I am also retiring from Middle Earth. Based on what the cow said, do they cancel your account completely? I thought they would hold it for you if you ever decided to return. I was away for 2 weeks and just didn't miss it. I've been playing NCAA 08 like a madman. I'm very ready for a shooter. I probably jump on TS and harass you guys as well.
I'm definitely in the football league, although that was my worst showing ever last year. Baron would like to join if we have a spot. I think we need to do the draft on TS. Alternatively, if we could all find time to get on TS, we could do an auction, which is really cool.

Sorry to see you go, I too was wondering about the accounts, if you cancel them do you loose your character completely, or do they store it for a time (or indefinitely) in case you return. I haven't had the time to play much lately, and if I get into another game I don't know if I'll keep this going. But for the time being I'm continuing on as I am still enjoying the game.As for the football league, someone needs to organize it and figure out who's playing and who isn't. Maybe we need a dedicated thread for it?

Sorry to see you go. I'm not sure why I still play it really, I rarely find it extremely fun, but I guess it's because nothing else has caught my fancy and I have hours and hours of time in the evening free and I'd rather not watch TV. There's always something that needs working on in LOTRO, whether it's camping rare mobs, working on deeds, gathering ore for tokens, and countless other things.

GA and MC - sorry if I seemed short earlier in game - First I was putting together a PUG fellowship and was getting lost in tells and the we were fighting drakes and Bloodwing up in Angmar. GS, if you don't see my message in-game, I'll try to make it but can't promise I'll be on that early.

Couple of us are still going strong at this game. I know MadCow still plays occasionally.
GatorShawn and I and another FBG (can't remember forum name, sorry Leandro) joined Epic, have been able to go through Helegrod (including downing Thorog) as well as some of the other harder instances in the game. I still enjoy the lore of the game, and am looking forward to the Rift Raid, new content coming up later this month (in about a week or so).
The Rift is a 12 man raid that is supposed to be some of the hardest content in the game, as well as delivering some of the best rewards. There's also about 100 new quests being added and new areas being opened up (in Misty Mountains).
And, exciting for me especially is the fact that this is the month of the LoreMaster, which is the character type I play. So they will be adding new skills and abilities, which should be fun learning how to use effectively.

I have not even gone in yet, but there are 4 zones for each race which you can get starting at lvl 15, of varying qualities depending on how much you want to spend I believe. Kinships can form kin halls, also. They are placed in instanced neighborhoods.

Generally, you are done farming pages by lvl 45-46. At 50, you can raid and such. I am trying to decide if I want to keep going with this, or sell my account. I have a 50 hunter, a 48 captain, a 23 champ and over 120 gold, which I believe is the equivalent of 1200 gold in WoW, so to speak. I have just become bored, but there are 2 whole chapters (11 and 12) that I have not touched yet.

Did you have the books? Did you know where to farm them? With my captain, I was done with pages at 45 and had all my legendaries.

I'm still enjoying it, but I got into it not because it was a MMO but because I like Lord of the Rings. It is pretty cool to go quest in the world Tolkien created (or at least, the version of it as portrayed by this game.)
I will say that if I had not become part of Epic (raiding kinship), I may not be playing as much as I do, or else I would have my alts leveled higher. But I really enjoy raiding and the group I'm with. We've been working on the new Rift Raid, and have it pretty much figured out except the final boss (Balrog). Working on getting him down, but it's pretty tough. I think only 2 other kins have managed it yet.
Once you get to level 50, there isn't a ton of solo stuff to do unless you really like to craft stuff or play in the auction house. They have been adding higher level solo content though, and I've only gone through a small portion of it (whole new area in Misty Mountains, including Goblin Town). When I'm solo, I tend to do a lot of mining and shard hunting (still working on gear upgrades).
The housing is fairly well done, it costs either 1 Gold or 7 Gold for a personal house, depending on if you want 2 rooms or 3 (and 1 or 2 chests for extra storage.) You get a map to your house, and if your kin has a house a map to the kin house as well. The kin houses are about 15 Gold, I think.
Overall, it's still got my interest, and I'm still having fun. I'm more than willing to help any FBGs in game if needed, or if you are starting a new character, I'm working on leveling an alt guardian up, so let me know and we can group on the way up. My main char is Maelstrom, just send me a mail or tell in-game.
