As a Packer fan I do not catch much of the Vikings action except in the two games they play every year. I do, however, see the stats from Vikings games scroll across the bottom of my T.V. screen every week. Most weeks, lately, it seems that when the scroll gets to Bridgewater's stats they are good to outstanding. That makes me wonder what I am going to see when the teams play.

He's efficient and calm but underwhelming while watching him (probably because he doesn't play with a ton of emotion and doesn't make highlight plays too often). Perfect QB for this team and HC. And he's got a go-to WR1 finally.
 
John Sullivan has a second back surgery likely done for the season

Unfortunate. The Hodges trade makes more sense now.

Kalil has played better this season than last, but that isn't saying too much. He had some bad plays against the Lions giving up pressures to Ansah and also failing against Taylor in the running game. Overall he has been the Vikings best offensive lineman this season. He doesn't get nearly as much help from TE and RB as Celmmings does.

Fusco has failed in pass protection a few times every game. He was overrmatched against Ngata which led to sacks on Bridgewater. He is perhaps the Vikings best run blocker who can actually generate some space at times. His pulling to the right has been blown up several times already which is on the other linemen somewhat, still perhaps he could get there a bit quicker? He doesn't seem as comfortable playing on the left side as he did on the right.

Joe Berger is a good back up but I think below average as a starter. His versatility and experience are good to have but he isn't as good as Sullivan or perhaps most of the other starting centers in the league.

Mike Harris has perhaps made the fewest mistakes of all the starting five. He is often getting help from either Berger or Clemmings however. Against KC he got pushed into the backfield a lot of times and he doesn't do as well blocking one on one.

TJ Clemmings has been the Vikings worst lineman and I cannot really say I have noticed improvement so far. Most of the time the Vikings are having him double team with Mike Harris. So both of them together do a good job of stopping one defender, however this leaves a defender free. When he has been asked to block pass rushers on his own this quickly leads to pressure on Bridgewater. He does a bit better when a TE or RB helps out with a chip or double team. He does not do a good job of maintaining his blocks. Defenders are getting off his blocks quickly being barely slowed down in the process.

Not saying any of the back ups are better. This is what the Vikings have to work with for the season.

Vikings' Sharrif Floyd: Out with knee surgery

Sharrif Floyd recently had a procedure to remove a "little piece of cartilage" from his left ankle, head coach Mike Zimmer told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Floyd missed last week's game against Detroit and it's not clear when he'll return. Tom Johnson started at defensive tackle in place of Floyd last week and will likely remain in the starting lineup while Floyd is out.

The Vikings and Mike Zimmer have kept secret and then downplayed injuries to players all season, so hard to read the tea leaves on how serious this injury is or how long Floyd will be out. From listening to Zimmers press conference he just said he doesn't know how long Floyd will be out.

The Vikings did pick up Ellis to replace Shamar Stephen but he has only been with the team for a week. This leaves the Vikings somewhat thin at DT where Zimmer likes to rotate four players. This means Linval Joseph plays a lot more, which is a good thing because he is playing very well. Tom Johnson also plays well but the Vikings do not have another starter to rotate in with these two. An injury to either and the Vikings are looking at downgrading at DT unless one of the ends can play inside well. I did see Robison and Hunter playing inside on some of the obvious passing downs. Griffen played a lot of DT when the Vikings had Jared Allen.

I think Floyd is better than Tom Johnson but it would be nice to have the rotation option and depth back at the DT position.

Floyd missed quite a bit of time due to injuries last season as well and you have to wonder if this will be a recurring problem with him. He did play through the injury so perhaps this surgery is something that wont require a long recovery time.

Snap counts for the defensive linemen in week 7 against the Lions. The Vikings had 54 total snaps on defense.

Griffen 51 94%

Robison 51 94%

Joseph 44 81%

Johnson 44 81%

Hunter 13 24%

Ellis 5 9%

Crichton 3 6%

Turner: The Running Game Is A Work-In-Progress

So I guess Norv is the instigator of SwallowedChewGate.

He says some thing pretty funny when asked about Mycole Pruitt's blocking. He says blocking is something you have to work at and want to get better at. He says that he might be a pretty motivated blocker but that he wouldn't be very good at it.

He also says that they like being in 3 WR sets and because of the offensive line the TE will not as often be part of the route options because they need him to help block. He also says that Rudolph may be playing too many snaps, so because they are using the TE to block so often they may use Ellison more in these formations.

 
I hate the Patriots, but is it just me or are they head and shoulders above the rest of the NFL functioning with a patchwork OL?

 
That to me was the worst game Bridgewater has had this year.. I know many point to the 49er game but that was a mess for the entire team and I felt Bridgewater received more blame then deserved..

But today, Bridewater just seemed "Off" .......missing Wr's, misreading blitzes, etc...

But hey a win is a win and to be 5-2 at this point is a very good start!!! :thumbup:

Be prepared for another Defensive battle next week as the Rams come to visit.. Easily could be 13-10 game..

 
Happy with the win but it would be nice if the Vikings wouldn't win so ugly.

5-2 is a pretty nice place to be considering the Vikings still have quite a few issues and things they need to improve.

 
It can't be said enough just how bad our offensive line is. Teddy was terrible but he just had no chance on many plays. That pass to Johnson though. Man, I have no idea what he was doing. He threw it directly at a DB. He was just fortunate Johnson was able to cut in front and go up and get it.

 
Rumors of Alex Mack being made available by Cleveland.

Spielman should look into it...but won't.

That they're 5-2 after losing their starting center and RT is not half bad.

Yeah, it's not exactly exciting football to watch much of the time but will take 5-2.
 
Vikings being one of the least penalized teams and having the fewest missed tackles says a lot about Zimmer coaching. I am also impressed with what Teddy has done despite the sub par Oline play. They just need to add some better blockers and they could make some noise in the playoffs.

 
Just listening Norse Code which is pretty funny this week. They talk with writer Joe McAtee about the Vikings Rams game and some of his comments about the Rams are pretty good.

"When you’re talking about Fisherball you have to turn everything 180 degrees. This is not a passing era for the Rams. They still do not believe in pass interference. They don’t care about spread offenses. None of the things that affect the modern football game apply to Fisherball."

 
This is the most intriguing matchup of the week for me.

You've got Gurley setting the league on fire versus ADP, who is still very good. Diggs first four starts have created almost as much buzz, while Austin is coming off his second multiple TD game. Two good defenses; the Rams have a better rep but statistically the Vikings are right there with them. I'm expecting a tight game. TB gives Minnesota the edge.

 
Kendricks has been a difference maker and he will be missed.

The Rams will likely force the Vikings into base defenses more than they usually play anyways. So more Chad Greenway with some Audie Cole and perhaps Watts mixed in. Watts came in when Kendricks left the field briefly last week.

The Vikings defense has been very good against WR screens so I am not really seeing Austin doing too much. I am pretty confident in Zimmer having a game plan sufficient to handle the Rams offensive creativity.

The Rams have an embarrassment of riches on their defensive line. Even the back ups are very good. According to Joe McAtee the Rams defense tries to take away the sidelines and force teams to throw over the middle more. The Vikings need the TE to stay in and help with pass protection but perhaps this is where the WR will be trying to move the chains, with quick slants, and drag routes. Teddy prefers throws outside that are safer. It isn't really clear to me why the Vikings won't also be successful throwing outside. Greg Williams despite what the defense might look like runs a lot of single high coverage and the outside receivers will be one on one a lot. The defensive backs are also susceptible to play action and double moves from receivers.

Whatever they do I think the passes need to be quick. The Vikings are fine with being methodical and taking what the defense gives them.

 
That was a huge win after not only losing Bridgewater to a Cheap hit but Hill looking like a High School QB.. No, sorry, that's an insult to a High School QB...

Then Norv inexcusable Roll-out call in the 4th quarter when they just needed to run the clock..

Add in the fact the Packers just lost to the Panthers and midway through the season the Vikings are tied for First!! :excited:

Now just gotta hope Teddy is able to return next week.. Otherwise Hill starting In the "Black Hole" :oldunsure:

It looked bad, but Teddy was in the tunnel after the game greeting the players. Couldn't go back on the sideline if he was in the concussion protocol, I believe. Hopefully he is ok, but that first part gave me hope.

I'm still wondering if he should have been ejected...that seemed very blatant intent to injure. I wanted to say maybe it was just a bang-bang play and Joyner couldn't pull up, but you KNOW the QB is sliding in that situation, so that's still no excuse.

I haven't watched the game yet but the guys on the radio here brought up a hit by Linval Joseph that was penalized as a late hit earlier in the game.

It is a pretty toxic subject due to the history and I was somewhat surprised that Zimmer would so clearly call the Rams coaches out like he did and that he didn't have much to say to Jeff Fisher after the game. He even says that if this game were happening on the street that a fight would be happening.

No love or respect for Fisher or Williams from Mike Zimmer given.

It is almost like wrestling.

It is a pretty toxic subject due to the history and I was somewhat surprised that Zimmer would so clearly call the Rams coaches out like he did and that he didn't have much to say to Jeff Fisher after the game. He even says that if this game were happening on the street that a fight would be happening.

No love or respect for Fisher or Williams from Mike Zimmer given.

If they are talking about the hit I remember, it was a pretty ticky/tac call - his forearm was on the QB's chest, and slid up into his chin. Penalty, sure...but not dirty or in any way a cheap shot. That was a roughing the passer call though, so maybe not the one you are talking about?

Likely just playing devils advocate. I think it was Ben Leber who brought up the penalty on Joseph.

I am just watching the game now so I haven't gotten to those plays yet.

 
On the Rams 1st dive Barr makes a nice tackle on Barr meeting him in the hole. On 3rd down Greenway does a nice job of staying with Austin in coverage on a drag route.

1st and 10 Peterson single back 2TE 2WR Diggs and Ellison to the right Rudolph and Wallace to the left. Play action to Peterson then Teddy rolls to his right where he gets the ball to Ellison for 5 yards.

2nd and 5 the Vikings come out with a big set Charles Johnson is outside to the right. Ellison and Rudolph to the left with Zach Line ahead of Peterson in the I formation. The play is a run off left tackle that gets blocked pretty well and Peterson gains another three yards running through Ayers tackle. Brockers is called for offsides. Aaron Donald jumped too.

1st and 10 same personnel and formation as the previous play. The play is a dive but Peterson stops on the left side before turning it back to the right. He does lose the defender who was filling on the left but there are two unblocked defenders that Peterson tries to beat to the edge but gains no yards.

2nd and 10 Rudolph and Ellison to the right, Diggs outside to the left with Wallace in the slot. Ellison comes in motion to the left side of the line before the snap. Play action to Peterson. Diggs runs a post route while Wallace runs a corner route that crosses over Rudolphs route back to the left. Bridgewater steps up in the pocket avoiding a pass rusher chasing him before delivering the ball to Mike Wallace who has some open in the right corner. The pass is too far and to the outside. I am not sure if the wind pushed it. Teddy was able to step into his throw and he put some nice touch on it with a clean release. Mike Wallace perhaps still could have run under this ball but he lost a lot of speed turning around and trying to track where it was, probably because the pass was a bit too far outside.

3rd and 10 Pistol Asiata to Bridgewaters right Diggs in close to the right. Wallace outside to the left with Wright in the slot and Rudolph on the line. Bridgewater throws a strike to Wright on a stop route fitting it into a small window against the LB and the safety for a 1st down. It is only a 10 yard pass but Teddy got it there quickly throwing with plenty of force and velocity.

Former scout Charles Davis mentions how Bridgewater can throw with plenty of zip on the ball, he mentions some people (Greg Cossel) say Teddy doesn’t have enough arm strength or cannot throw the deep ball. But Teddy has plenty of arm strength to get things done in the NFL.

1st and 10 3 TE to the right with Charles Johnson outside to the left. The Vikings pull Kalil Fusco and Mike Harris to the right. William Hayes is able to split Rudolph and Ellison at the snap of the ball. He runs behind Mike Harris who is pulling out to the right and is right in front of Teddy at the point of the handoff. Peterson side steps him by going to the right and follows Mike Harris who is now turning downfield. Peterson leaps at around the point where Laurinaitis is going to meet him. Harris is blocking the safety back at the same time. Laurinaitis is able to make the tackle but Peterson gets another 2 yards because of the momentum of his leap.

2nd and 3 same personnel and formation as the previous play. The Vikings run the same play but do not get as good blocking as the previous play. Peterson tries to use a stiff arm but only gets a yard on the play.

3rd and 2 Pistol Asiata to Bridgewaters left. Diggs outside left with Wright in the slot. Wallace outside right with Rudolph in the slot. Charles Johnson does a quick fake to the outside before turning inside for the slant route. Trumane Johnson just kind of leans on Charles Johnson and prevents him from getting to the ball. It is within five yards so Johnson needs to be able to push through that and make a play. Could have led to an interception.

1st and 10 8:56 left in the 1st quarter. 2 TE right with Wallace outside, Diggs outside to the left. Jenkins plays physical with Diggs and holds his shoulder which prevents Diggs from getting to the spot on the quick slant route. Jenkins does not let go of his hold and he jumps on Diggs’s back before the ball arrives and gets called for holding.

1st and 10 Teddy gets Aaron Donald to go offsides.

1st and 5 same formation and personnel as the last play they ran. Ellison comes in motion to the left before the snap. Peterson runs forward before the snap and gets called for a false start.

1st and 10 Pistol Peterson to Bridgewaters right. Rudolph to the right, Wright in the slot Mike Wallace outside. Stefon Diggs outside to the left. Teddy changes the play at the line. The play is a run to the left where Peterson gets behind Kalil and Fusco for 7 yards.

2nd and 3 The Vikings line up with their big formation. Charles Johnson outside to the left Rudolph and Ellison to the right Zach Line in front of Peterson in the I formation. Play action Johnson runs straight forward eating up the cushion of Jenkins off coverage, he leans inside and looks back for the ball suggesting he might take this inside but then he cuts to the out route and gets some nice separation on the play. Johnson is able to make the catch and turn back upfield after making Jenkins miss with a cut back inside. He tries to use a stiff arm to get past the safety who makes the tackle. Teddy threw a nice tight spiral to the outside flat the ball is a little behind Johnson who adjusted to the catch. Jenkins was no where close to making a play on this. 25 yards.

1st and 10 Ellison on the left side of the line with Rudolph on the right, Diggs outside right with Patterson in the slot. Patterson comes in motion to the left behind the line and Teddy fakes the jet sweep to him then drops back and rolls to his right. Bridgewater pump fakes once and then gets the ball to Peterson in the right flat for nine yards.

2nd and 1 The Vikings come with the big package Charles Johnson outside to the right Rudolph and Ellison to the left and Zach Line ahead of Peterson in the I formation. Play action to the left and Bridgewater rolls to the right. The Vikings pull Fusco to the left as part of selling the play action. There are 9 defenders in the box and Johnson is man to man with Trumane Johnson with a safety over the top. Rudolph slips out on a drag route to the right and Bridgewater finds him open for the 1st down. Teddy doesn’t set his feet on this throw kind of jumping up as he throws to make sure he gets the ball over the safety who is trying to time a jump to knock the ball down. Teddy throws a nice tight spiral that arrives right on the numbers despite the poor delivery platform. That takes arm strength and control.

1st and 10 Nick Fairley lines up offsides.

1st and 5 3 TE to the right Charles Johnson outside to the left. Bridgewater play action to Peterson to the left then rolls to his right where he finds MyCole Pruitt open for a 1st down. Pruitt turns and spins after the catch to extend for the 1st down.

1st and goal same formation and personnel as the previous play. The Vikings pull Mike Harris to the right. Pruitt blocks one safety while Harris makes two defenders hesitate to knife in behind him. Harris blocks the second safety into the end zone and Peterson puts on the after burners so the 2 defenders splitting the gap cannot reach him before he has the edge. Touchdown.

On the Rams drive the Vikings play good defense Chad Greenway is there to make Gurley go out of bounds after a catch in the flat. This is the second time I have seen Greenway being in good positon on 2 of the Rams best offensive weapons. On 3rd down Foles gets the ball to Austin who makes Rhodes miss on the tackle and gets the 1st down.

1st and 10 Linval Joseph pushes back two offensive linemen who are trying to block out to the right. When Gurley tries to run back to the inside he meets Joseph who tackles him for 3 yards.

2nd and 7 they run a dive play with Austin for 2 yards. 3rd and 5 the Rams play action and connect on a deep pass to Britt who beat Newman. Gurley manages to gain extra yards with Linval Joseph locked on to him. He has some help from an offensive lineman pushing him forward as well, but wow.2nd and goal Gurley tries to leap over the line but is met by Vikings defenders and knocked back. He keeps his feet through and offensive linemen help him drive into the end zone on the second effort. Touchdown. Joseph and Harrison Smith prevent Gurley from getting the 2 point conversion.

1st and 10 play action to McKinnon who Bridgewater gets it to in the flat for two yards.

2nd and 8 Pistol McKinnon to Teddys left. Rudolph to the right with Charles Johnson outside. Wallace outside to the left with Diggsin the slot. The corners are playing off man coverage. Diggs turns to an out route right away and Wallace runs a 8 yard stop route. Jenkins makes a great tackle on Diggs as he gets the ball near the sideline.

2nd quarter.

3rd and 3 ends up being pass interference on Mike Wallace.

1st and 10 3 WR Rudolph and Wright to the left with Wallace outside. Wallace comes in motion before the snap faking the end around, they run with Peterson to the left side who tries a spin move on Jenkins but gets tackled for a loss.

2nd and 11 Ellison outside to the left with Diggs in the slot. Wallace outside to the right with Rudolph on the line. Ellison motions into the backfield offset to the left before the snap. Play action Diggs runs a deep route but Teddy decides to run with it sliding at the end of the run.

3rd and 5 Pistol Asiata to Bridgewaters left, Rudolph Wright and Wallace to the right, Diggs outside to the left. The corner tries to jam Wright at the snap of the ball but he missed and Wright gets behind him on a go route towards the corner. The defensive back is pulling on Wright as he is pursuing behind him. No flags.

Charles Davis comments that if the defense keeps playing aggressive like this throughout the whole game that eventually they will get away with things. Because the refs will get tired of calling penalties every play.

Chad Greenway does a great job of stopping the screen pass. This is the third time I have seen Greenway do well with coverage assignments. The Vikings stop the Rams drive but they are able to make a 61 yard field goal.

1st and 10 Peterson in the single back with 3 WR to the left. The play is a run to Peterson who finds a hole between Fusco and Berger and hits it fast and lowers his head to gain the 1st down.

After a couple 2 yard runs by Peterson the Vikings have 3rd and 6 shotgun Wallace outside to the left with Wright in the slot Diggs outside to the left. Diggs and Wallace both run out routes. Teddy throws the ball to Wallace but the ball is a bit low and Wallace can’t get under it.

1st and 10 2 TE to the right with Wallace outside, Diggs outside to the left. Mike Wallace motions behind the right side of the line prior to the snap. The play is a run with Peterson who find a hole up the middle due to some effective double team blocks. Peterson makes Barron miss with a jump cut back inside Diggs is trying to block for Peterson who runs him over in the process of trying to run over those defensive backs.

1st and 10 Peterson runs for 2 yards.

2nd and 8 Pistol Bridgewater throws back to Wallace but the ball is too low for Wallace to react to it.

3rd and 8 Bridgewater finds Wallace on a drag route but Wallace is tackled before he can turn upfield. Punt.

Greenway makes a nice tackle on a WR screen which is four nice plays in coverage.

3rd quarter

Patterson after picking the ball up off the field has a nice return down the right side line setting the Vikings up with nice field position at their own 47.

1st and 10 Peterson in the single back Ellison on the line to the right with Rudolph on the outside and Wallace in the slot. Diggs outside to the left. Before the snap Rudolph goes in motion to the left lining up outside of Kalil balancing the line. Rudolph runs an out route on the left side and Bridgewater finds him. Rudolph is able to evade the first tackler and get upfield after the catch for about 15 yards.

1st and 10 Ellison and Rudolph to the left Diggs outside to the right with Wallace in the slot. Ellison goes in motion to the right side balancing the line. Barron reacts by one lining up directly on Eliison and Ayers going outside of Rudolph to blitz. Play action and Peterson picks up Ayers well enough for Teddy to step up and deliver a deep pass to Diggs. Teddy has a long wind up on this pass, the ball is a bit behind Diggs who has a step on Johnson if Teddy could have got it over the top. Diggs tries to fight back through Johnson for the ball but Johnson has better position on the throw and comes down with the interception. Diggs gets called for pass interference on the play.

The Rams cannot block Linval Joseph and they go 3 and out.

Teddy finds Diggs on an out route on the left side. He gets a lot of separation from Jenkins on this one and picks up a first down.

1st and 10 the Vikings run with Peterson who finds a hole behind Harris who blocks the MLB Berger and Fusco have good blocks driving Fairley and Donald out of the play. Peterson gets 12 yards before going down to an ankle tackle by McCleod.

1st and 10 the Vikings come with the 3 TE to the right with Johnson outside to the left. The play is a off tackle to the right but Peterson gets stopped for a loss of one.

2nd and 11 Pistol with McKinnon to Teddys right. Rudolph in close on the right. Wallace outside to the left Diggs inside him and Wright in the slot all lined up in a triangle bunch. Bridgewater gets the ball to McKinnon quickly for 9 yards.

3rd and 2 Pistol Peterson to Teddys right Diggs in the slot and Wright outside. Mike Wallace outside to the left. Teddy waits a bit in the pocket before taking off for the TD. I am not sure if this is planned or improvised.

The Vikings go for 2 points running a play action to Peterson then Bridgewater takes the run outside to the right to convert. Teddy has some wheels.

1st and 10 the Vikings run with Peterson for 2 yards. 2nd and 8 Teddy finds Diggs on a crossing route to the right side.

3rd and 1 the Vikings come with a big formation and have Zach Line moving before the snap. Bridgewater with the hard count gets the Rams to go offsides.

1st and 10 2 TE to the right Diggs outside to the left with Wallace in the slot. Teddy changes the play at the line. The play is a run to Peterson on the left side.

2nd and 8 Teddy gets rushed by Donald and throws the ball away.

3rd and 8 Berger gets called for holding.

3rd and 18 Teddy gets rushed and ends up throwing the ball away.

In the Rams dive on 3rd down Foles extends the play and gets the ball to Austin in the seam but he drops the ball. Linval Jospeh gives Foles a hard shot with his arm hitting him in the neck area striking upwards on the hit. He gets called for roughing the passer.

After stopping Girley on 1st down and forcing and incomplete on 2nd down the Rams runs a WR screen to Quick who gets tackled right away by Munnerlin.

After a good punt the Vikings get a holding penalty backing them up to the Rams end zone. Barron gets Peterson in the backfield

2nd and 16 the Rams get called for defensive holding.

1st and 10 Bridgewater gets the Rams to go offsides again with the hard count.

1st and 5 Bridgewater fakes the WR screen then turns and hands off to Peterson for 4 yards.

2nd and 1 Bridgewater runs for the 1st down sliding at the end. Joyner drives his elbow into Bridgewaters head as he is sliding. Teddy knocked out of the game.

1st and 10 Shaun Hill dumps the ball of to Peterson on the left side. Ayers is able to get his hand on the ball forcing a fumble. Diggs recovers the fumble so the Vikings keep the ball.

2nd and 1 is a run to the right side with Peterson who stops at the line of scrimmage and then drops the ball. Peterson is able to recover the fumble.

3rd and 3 Hill out of the Pistol ends up throwing the ball away.

The Vikings win the game off a defensive stand and Peterson in overtime thanks to a FG by Walsh.

Very impressed with how the Vikings defense played in particular Joseph, Barr and Greenway although everyone played well.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Vikings need as much luck as they can get with injuries thinning their linebacker corps, and coach Mike Zimmer portrayed optimism on Monday regarding Anthony Barr.

Barr played all 74 snaps in the Vikings' overtime win against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, but was seen leaving the locker room with a sling on his left arm. He underwent X-rays after the game, said Zimmer, who declined to reveal the results of the tests.

"He should be fine," Zimmer said.

On Sunday, the Vikings were without starting middle linebacker Eric Kendricks, who was held out because of a rib injury from the Nov. 1 win at Chicago. Kendricks' replacement, linebacker Audie Cole, is out for the season after he suffered a fractured ankle against the Rams. After Cole's injury in the second half on Sunday, the Vikings moved veteran Chad Greenway to middle linebacker and used Brandon Watts at Greenway's weak-side linebacker spot.

The trio of linebacker injuries come about a month after the Vikings traded former starting middle linebacker Gerald Hodges to San Francisco for undrafted center Nick Easton and a 2016 sixth-round draft pick.

Teddy Bridgewater practices some Barr and Kendricks held out

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks were both at practice on Wednesday, but neither participated.

Barr (hand) and Kendricks (ribs) were the only two Vikings players officially not practicing on the first day of full preparation for the trip to Oakland on Sunday. Barr underwent X-rays on his left hand after the win against the St. Louis Rams, and was seen with a soft cast on that hand as he watched practice on Wednesday. Kendricks has been held out since injuring his ribs at Chicago on Nov. 1. Kendricks wore pads and a helmet while working with athletic trainer Eric Sugarman on the side of practice.

The good news for the Vikings is quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) was able to return to practice on a limited basis after he was knocked out of the Rams game in the fourth quarter. Bridgewater was not available to speak to the media after practice as he's yet to be fully cleared through the concussion protocol, according to Vikings' public relations. Coach Mike Zimmer said Monday he expects Bridgewater to be "good to go" for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee/ankle) was also able to return for the first time since he was injured in the Oct. 18 win over Kansas City. Floyd has been held out for about three weeks after he underwent a knee surgery to remove cartilage. Floyd was also in a walking boot on his injured left ankle for a week after the Cheifs game. Floyd was officially limited for the Vikings on Wednesday.

Also limited: CB Terence Newman (concussion), CB Marcus Sherels (shoulder), DT Linval Joseph (foot) and DE Justin Trattou (foot).

Defensive end Brian Robison (ankle) was added to the injury report, and listed as a 'full participant.'
