Moore had two really bad outings in a row (Jun 4 at Detroit and Jun 9 vs. Baltimore) but has been better since.Moore has given up 22 earned runs in his last 18 innings, leading to a line of 10.61 ERA / 2.35 WHIP / 7.2 K/9 in his last four starts.Toronto is K prone and has a few guys known to scuffle vs. lefties. Yeah, they're hot right now, but at this point in the season I can't see benching Moore against all but the best of lineups. If you're benching him you should look to move him.I'm benching Matt Moore for the fourth straight game. Seems like only yesterday I was wildly overreacting to his first poor start.
He has plenty of reason to consider benching him against Toronto and everyone else right now. A few more outings of this nature and he's pretty much WW fodder. April was a long time ago.
There doesn't appear to be anything physically wrong with him; the stuff is still there but his command has been inconsistent. I think that's pretty much what Moore owners signed up for when they drafted him. I'm starting him tonight.
