I thought this week's episode was pretty bad. The "wrong hotel room" bit was the most predictable one in the history of the show. Think they tried to hard to top last year's V-Day episode, which was one of the best.

Agree that that was pretty bad. Especially how they build it up for like 5 minutes.

yeah, the last couple of episodes haven't been that good. They seem a little stuck in characters and are rehashing a lot of the same themes.

Agreed. The only laugh out loud part last night for me was one scene (don't remember which one, but it was early) where the set up for the punch line was so predictable I actually said it word for word in my head before (I think it was Jay) said it.Not to knock the show, it is still quite funny. They've just set the bar so high for themselves, that if every scene doesn't have me in stitches, it fees like a let down.
 
i felt like the last two episodes have been very meh. cheap laughs more than anything. writers and the characters aren't really stretching here. still a great show but a little disappointing to see them lose focus so quickly.

Funny, because I thought last night's episode was hilarious. But maybe because Shelly Long's character resembled my mom a little too much.

I didn't even realise it was Shelly Long until half way through the episode.What's funny is right before I watched MF I watched the Cheers Andy Andy episode. Now that is some funny ####. I was literally in tears multiple times.
 
The end of the Barkley episode (as the credits are rolling), when Cam is doing the British accent, might be the funniest thing I've seen in months.

Be careful, you'll probably get flamed on here for speaking the obvious. I agree with you, the last few shows have been telegraphing jokes from the start of the episodes.They set the bar high, but now they're having trouble meeting expectations IMO.

That was pretty good.As a whole I felt this was a down episode, the restaurant thing was meh, Mitchell and Cam were funny (always are), the Kid flipping out on Gloria and calling Jay a coward was :hifive:Overall though 3/5

I enjoyed Cam and the kid's interaction while getting ready for the party and Phil's like "you can ...do me" to Gloria.

Yeah rethinking it, I think I liked it more than I'm giving it credit.Claire and the massage was funny too

The massage noise has been done before (Friends I think did it).

The addition of Jay's line saying she sounded like a mexican prostitute made it better though.

 
Manny flipping out at the end was classic.

I loved Gloria telling Phil she would "kill you" after each story he told. The haircut scene was hilarious.

 
Still love everything about this show outside Phil's character. I don't know what it is - not only has his character yet to grow on me, I think I hate him MORE than I used to.

That's the second time they used the final segment to show off her assets. I think it should become a weekly feature. Gloria cutting Phil's hair a couple of weeks ago was quality television as well.
 
I don't think it was the final segment when she was layin in bed was it? I dunno they showed a truck commericial right in the middle of the episode. Not sure if everybody got that or just in my area.

You're right. That was when her boyfriend called about his shoes. The final segment was her getting the shoes from Cam. Don't know what I was thinking.

I got some kind of commercial before & apparently during the start that cut off all but a couple seconds of the opening scene before the title sequence. Jay said something to Manny about liking something eventually?
 
During one scene with Sophia Vergara last night I said: She really has to do a Playboy spread while she still can.

My wife: Her legs aren't really that nice, especially her knees.

Me: :mellow:

Just watching last week's episode for the first time. I'm loving Jay more and more with each episode.
