Watching the fallout from losing Fowler on the LSU boards is making me embarrassed to follow this stuff. Grown men shouting in unison about how trashy the family is because the kid picked the home school. Sure, he could have given LSU coaches a heads up, but this is recruiting, and this is how it goes sometimes. Some of the things being said are just pathetic. Predictable, but pathetic.
I never understood the whole "building drama" thing.

Cant you just commit and lose the buildup? Doesn't that put un needed pressure on the kids?

Sure, if that's what they really want to do. But there are millions of college football fans salivating over their every move. The kids, generally speaking, love it.

Quinn Nordin, the #1 kicker, just committed to Michigan. I guess that sleepover worked. Harbaugh must've taken down all the PSU posters.

aTm is just falling apart. Guess all that taking over Texas talk is subsiding.
Their 247 board is now on Lockdown...I've never seen that.

Not only are they losing a bunch of flips, but they weren't prepared either and looks like they may leave a bunch of spots open?

Looks like Sumlin will be fired a year late.

Back channel rumors is he won't start the season as the HC and will instead be in rehab.

That's just arrogant and stupid. That guy is a horrible coach.

Booze, at a minimum.

This Michigan "Signing of the Stars" thing is just ridiculous. And kind of awesome.

I am looking forward to Jessica Szohr, though.

if i were not a U of M fan i would be mocking it, but I am so i love it :)

mark my words though, they'll work on perfecting it and in a few years there will be a ton of schools doing it

A little more to it than putting a webcam on the fax machines

Just heard on local sports radio that Cam Cameron is out as LSU's OC. Seems pretty slimy on NSD, but we have failed to get a high QB ranking target which is the only position Cam really recruits. Also wonder if it is why Feleipe Franks flipped to Florida as an early enrollee.

Just heard Chad Greenway on the radio talking about his signing day. He had to have the principal show him how to use the fax machine. He's not a fan of the way things have gone and thinks its a big part of the privileged mentality some of the college athletes have today.

Words of wisdom(?) from Lou Holtz

"I think we over complicate coaching, there are only 7 colors, look what Michelangelo did, there are only 7 notes look what Beethoven did, there are only 10 numbers and look what Bernie Madoff did with them"

ummmm
ok

If they replace him as well as they replaced the D coordinator, I'm OK with it. All of the offensive recruits were sold on running a different O anyway.

FSU closing strong. Jimbo / Trickett / Haggins / Dawsey/ Brewster are phenomenal recruiters.

Besides FSU & Clemson the ACC doesn't look that great.

Per 247,

1. FSU

7. Clemson

20. UM (no recruits from Georgia, prob too late for Richt to flip anyone?)

30.Pitt

33. Duke

35. UNC

36. Louisville

41. VT - 1 4* ouch

47. NC State

54. GT

56. Wake

58. Virginia

62. Syracuse

77. BC

Sounds like FSU and OSU are done, so it's a fight between those 2 and Bama for #1...maybe LSU with a surprise or two.

It's a tradition unlike any other...Rivals crashing on NSD.
The guy who sold Rivals to Yahoo, then founded 247, is laughing his ### off...publicly.
247 is such a better site. Much easier navigation, great pics/graphics. Scout is a mess, and rivals isn't great.
They also created the Composite Ranking and Crystal Ball forecasting...great innovation.

And now everyone is catching on...Sirius, etc are all partnering with them when they used to default to Rivals, Scout, or ESPN.

UCLA has a lot of players deciding in the next day or so.

The bolded are all signed. Hansford was a surprise. Omotosho to UCLA was a surprise. So, the Bruins are down to 3 left today.

Mique Juarez to UCLA. Huge get.

You were right GDogg. You know the TE business (pegged Clark, last year I think?). This wasn't a name I had heard much about until the last couple weeks. Really surprised at this get. That's two pass catching TEs in this class for Harbaugh

Boss Tagaloa to UCLA over Michigan, who was the other finalist from what I've seen. Great get and huge position of need.

Yeah, that's a big pickup for Michigan. He's a stud and a lot of scouts think he'd be even better at DE, but he's got his heart set on TE.

My mistake. Has it already been retired? I guess, if it's immediately.

Great pickup? Great signing? Neato? Boom shackalacka?

Kirby Smart did a grear job hanging onto his class after joining UGA less than a month ago. They kept almost everyone and added a 3rd 5-star today.
