***Official*** NFL Draft Thread 2005 (1 Viewer)

man eagles fans are dumb :lmao:
As soon as they played that, I wondered to myself how many of those guys who were booing now own McNabb jerseys.
It was an organized radio stunt.
Off-topic: Is your first name Mike? I worked with a guy who liked that handle to post on NHL boards. Big Flyers fan.On-topic: is that a fact? That's pretty interesting if it was.
Why yes. Would you happen to be a Dolphins fan? :D And yes. It was a planned radio stunt where they got a bunch of people together to go to the draft to boo the pick. It was stupid and most Eagles fans were fine with the McNabb pick.

PFT.com is reporting a rumor that the Browns will trade up to pick 20 is Rodgers is still there.
Crennell/Parcells connection.
So, the Cowboys might have traded their 2004 1st round pick for a 2005 1st round pick, and now might move it again for a 2006 1st round pick. The pick that keeps on giving.

Cool with me as long as they keep on sucking.

Erasmus James or Alex Barron
With Bryant McKinnie and Mike Rosenthal I don't see Barron making much sense. How much do the Vikes want to invest in their DL? They're paying big $$ to Udeze, Williams and Williams. If they're playing any 3-4, James makes little sense. They're also deep at DE. But I'm not sure where else Minnesota might look.

What good is a pick you never make? Very typical Cowboys, though. Trade for the sake of trading. Jones does that, thinking that people might confuse him with Jimmy Johnson.

Good call on James. Minnesota doesn't seem to have many holes. What's up with Spears? A month ago he was supposed to be by far the best 3-4 DE in the draft, and was rumored to go to Cleveland at three.

I'm growing bored with all these solid picks that fill a team's need, I wanna see someone screw up.

Helllooooo, St. Louis.

As drafts go, this one has been pretty uneventful.I guess you had to expect it going in with the lack of top flight talent.

forgot about Barron....good pick here by the Rams. Kinda surprised Eagles didn't trade up, looks like they are happy with the depth here and want players with both their 31/2.3 picks

I just like Barron and think he represents good value here. The Eagles drafted an OT last year despite having Thomas and Runyan on the squad...and other teams have made similar moves. It's not that hard for a OT to move inside to G if necessary.Looks like he went to the Rams...no surprise there. Should give them great pass protection on both sides of the line.

EDIT: As for James in Minnesota, the Vikings lack a big-time pass rusher. Udeze is solid, but more of an all around DE than an big time sack guy. James on the other side will keep the defensive line balanced and allow their defense to be more aggressive. It's a solid pick if he can stay healthy.

The fall of Rodgers, Mike Williams, Alex Barron and Derrick Johnson was pretty interesting for me.

They're probably looking at Barnes and Cody or both.

There's been some interesting stories, Rodgers tops the list, but it won't be making any "memorable draft moments" threads.
