So when does GB trade up to grab Rodgers?
Pick 14.
why trade up. he may drop that far. if he dosen't, campbell will be there if they want a QB
Becasue I think everyone has Rodgers a whole tier above the rest of the QBs left. May not matter though as NO has made a move......
How does Green Bay sell to their fans that when the face of the franchise is about to retire, and the best player in thirty years for the club has a great offense around him and is ready for one last SB run but needs some defensive help...They spend their first round pick on someone who won't sniff the field?

They'll have lots of time to find a replacement for Favre...WHEN HE'S GONE.

What is this continued infatuation in Green Bay taking a QB? Seriously, why? Makes no sense. Maybe round 2 if Rodgers would fall that far but for a 1st round pick...

evidently he's not a whole tier above the rest, or he would have been gone by now. i could see him being there for GB

i don't think it's a bad pick, as it was a need position. what's the drop off in talent between him and barnes or barron though?

Code:
Colin made the cardinal sin of mocking. Thou must include an OT in the top 15 picks.
Reminder for Colin next year.

Not many teams need a QB. The teams that do have too many other needs.

I'd love to see how the explain that even though they KNOW the clock is running out on the center piece to their team, they waited untill the very last second to try and replace him. QBs are not stars out the gate, they need prepared. Waiting till the last second will hurt them more than this short term focus.

What about Rodgers to KC. They obviously have defensive needs, but Green is pretty old.
Not just pretty old. The oldest starting QB in the league. However, he's pretty darn GOOD too. KC needs to win now, they'll go D or Mark Clayton for sure.

:goodposting: As long as Farve stays, GB should load up for an SB run every year. When he retires, bring in a mid tier FA QB and then draft a QB in the 1st.

Wow, these jokes have been played out. Usually I am the last one sick of overplayed songs or overused jokes and I am officially sick of these Minn draft jokes.
That's amazing considering that you just joined the boards today.

They'll be able to get lots of QBs in free agency or trade next year. Drew Brees/Phillip Rivers, David Garrard (through trade), Chris Simms/Brian Griese, Rohan Davey, etc.

Ironic...NO knocking Carolina out of the playoffs ends up costing them a 3rd round pick to jump back in front of the Cats. HA! HA! :NelsonVoice:

Are these boards the only place you have heard jokes about the Vikings drafts? If so, maybe you are on these boards too much.

Only 2 of the names you provided there should even be considered IMO. There is no certainty to them getting either and on top of that, only 1 of the 2 will be available. ;)

Another surprising pick. Not that Davis was a reach, but with the other guys there this is a pretty big surprise.I'm starting to see why the Jets traded their pick. There are few consensus top guys---lots of guys are going nowhere near their mock draft spot.

 Oh boy.

 Rodgers to Dallas at 20?
No way.I stand by what I wrote earlier...Rodgers to the Raiders at 26.
While I agree GB wants to win now, I dont think you pass on the value of Rodgers at 24.Raiders at 26 makes no sense. Rodgers doesnt fit Davis' idea of a QB, they have a huge amount of money tied up in Collins, and Turner needs help now, not in the future.

Don't know much about Davis other then it appears he could play multiple positions and is a great tackler. I guess he gets plugged in where the recent LB and S patches fail.

I know they (CAR) met with Georgia product Thomas Davis, I'm not sure they met with Derrck Johnson, because they didn't expect to see him at #14. I think because of that, they were aware of Davis' intentions, heart, mettle, etc. and weren't as aware of Johnson's needs, wants, desires, etc. There's nothing wrong with taking a Safety here.Interesting pick, but at least they didn't select Aaron Rogers. ;)

KC takes Derrick Johnson? Clayton would be a nice addition...
KC really has to draft defense here.
Johnson has got to be the pick, the guy is a steal at this point and fills a need. How does KC let him get by?Also I wouldn't be surprised to see Sea move up to take him if he falls much further.
