What's gamers club? Is it a Nintendo thing? Monthly/yearly cost.Online Best Buy has Mario Kart 8 for $51.99, if you have gamers club 20% off takes it to just over $40. Worth every cent.

YMMV with availability, but here's a better offer from Sears. http://www.sears.com/nintendo-mario-kart-8-for-nintendo-wii-u/p-05804468000PWhat's gamers club? Is it a Nintendo thing? Great tip! Wii U Nintendoland/Mario 3D bundle is onsale at Target for $249.99. I only saw it available as an in-store pick up. I ordered the exact same thing from Best Buy last week for $299.99, called them and they matched the Target price and gave me a $50 credit. Good deal. Thanks. It's been reported that next week at Target, the WII U is going to be $249 and comes with Mario 3d world and Nintendoland. Also next week, Best Buy is having a buy 1 get 1 40% off WII U games and if you are in the gamers club that stacks as well so a good time to get 2 or 4 extra games. The old WII controllers works with the new system although the WII U pro controller is much better for a lot of games including Mario Kart. Since we got Mario Kart 8 my son has barely played anything else and hasn't touched the original Infinity since. I got the controller on sale for $20/$25 and would say it is really worth it.
Looking around through Best Buy, Amazon, Target you can get some of the best games pretty cheap for the WII U. I was expecting to be done Christmas Shopping but at Best Buy next week, it'll be hard to pass on the new Toad game bundled maybe with the new NES remix game. $40 gcu dropped to $32, then NES remix $29-$6-40% about $14....
We do have WII U Super Mario, 3d World (great) , Mario Kart 8 (great!), Lego Marvel. I got Disney Infinity 2.0 for Christmas for the son.
I don't have the system so someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but yes if you want to use a GameCube controller, you'll need an adapter. I don't think the Wii u was built with holes for the GameCube controllers socket head. What's the deal with Smash Bros. if you want to use the Gamecube controller? Do I need one of these hard to find adapters if I just have two players?
Why would you want to use a GC controller? Is it just so you don't have to buy another one?
Gamecube controllers rule. And they're highly sought after because of it.Why would you want to use a GC controller? Is it just so you don't have to buy another one?
I've got 2 sitting in a drawer. Haven't been used in a very long time. Maybe I'll get an adapter and check them out or maybe I'll fire up the GC and see if it works.Gamecube controllers rule. That sucks. Are you pressing the SYNC button on the Wii U and on the GamePad? Does the GamePad turn on?Stupid ####### system won't sync! Similar problem reported by lots of other people only. Yes, I'm pressing the sync on both and trying all types of ####. The gamepad seems to be working fine. I just can't get the symbols to show up on the tv screen. That sucks. I'm referring to the initial set-up. Once everything is plugged in, you're supposed to sync the console to the gamepad. To do this, you push both red sync buttons (one on gamepad and one on console) and then some symbols show up on the TV screen that are then entered on the gamepad. I don't get the symbols on my TV. No, not yet. I'm done with it tonight. I'll let it sleep tonight and think about what it has done. I'll mess with it tomorrow and call support if need be.Have you tried a different TV?

I talked with Nintendo tech support this morning and they want me to send it in for a free repair. They already sent me the UPS shipping label and it should only take 2 or 3 weeks. Bummer. Sucks to have to take it back and get replaced but you really shouldn't have to do anything but turn it on and follow a bunch of steps to get going - stuff like create a Mii, some basic settings, etc.

I don't know. I guess I could have and that would have been another option. But I almost feel like Target would have just repackaged it and put it back on the shelf for someone else to be disappointed. Meh. Good to hear. I think I'll pick it up this weekend.I absolutely love Splatoon. Been playing it non-stop since it was released.
I'm not going to say it is the best shooter I've played, but I think it is probably the most fun. My favorite game on the Wii U by far.
If you have liked Mario Party games you will like this one. Good one for the family for sure.Capella said:Anybody play Mario Party 10? Have a lot of family coming for thanksgiving and was trying to decide if it's worth a go. We love all the mini games on Nintendo Land but I think we've burned that out.
Replayability alone is the highest of any game released in the last decade.
I'll second this. If you are an old school, side scrolling Mario fan it is a pretty amazing game.Replayability alone is the highest of any game released in the last decade.
Allows both creativity (making the levels) and some real moments of surprise/joy (seeing others' levels).
It's really, really good.
Oh yea we have Mario kart as well. We actually only play this system when family visits so I flat out forgot. lolIf you have liked Mario Party games you will like this one. Great game but the local multiplayer isn't as good as Mario Kart or a Mario Party game IMO which Capella was looking for. What about splatoon?
Is this just a single player game? Also, do you need an internet connection to play?Super Mario Maker is Game of the Year, YWIA.
Single player and you don't have to have internet connection but if you don't you are missing out on 90% of the cool stuff in the game.Is this just a single player game? Also, do you need an internet connection to play?Super Mario Maker is Game of the Year, YWIA.
