I think this show was starting to get a bit stale (though still one of the best network comedies) but what they did in the last 2 minutes last night should give them tons of new angles to play with for next season.
Losing Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe were pretty big blows to the show. Like you, I thought the show was getting a little stale. Still enjoyable but slipping. But yeah, the finale, especially the final scene, was sensational.

Leslie: The only thing I'll be waving is your decapitated head on a stick in front of your weeping mother!

If you re-arrange the letters of Peru, you get Europe.

Welcome aboard. You are in for a treat. Especially since the the first season was by far the weakest. They really get into a groove seasons 3-4.

:goodposting: Season 1 was a slog. Things started to turn the day Leslie Knope inadvertently organized a gay marriage of two penguins. When the state sends Chris Trager and Ben Wyatt to Pawnee, the show starts hitting home runs in spots where it used to hit doubles.

Ron and Tammy(s) are gold. When Ron shaved his stache and those interactions were money.

Andy and April are a great combo... spin off?

Great scene... walking towards the Grand Canyon... awe inspiring... where are the President's heads?

Never got into this show but am near the end of the 2nd season. Awesome watching them at one time. Good stuff.
I'm sure it's been talked about here before, but the cold open to S2 might be one of the greatest scenes in sitcom history.

Ron: (walks in) "So here's the situation..."

Leslie: "...your parents went away on a week's vacation. They left the keys to the brand new Porsche..."

(acts out the entire rest of the song)

...

Ron: (finally continues) "Someone is on fire in the park and they need you there right away."

OMG - April dropped an Odie reference.

Only thing I'm not a fan of are The League actors in the show.
"His real name is Dante Fiero, but he changed it to Dennis Feinstein cause that's way more exotic in Pawnee"

I like Feinstein much more than The #####.

Just finished it. Twist ending there that I didn't see coming but with the possibility of cancellation, the two minutes was a great move. Actually gives more life to the show. Bummer that it has only 13 more episodes.

I don't think it was getting stale but many of the actors are getting too big for the show, which sucks. Show is great that people will see on reruns and future streams and love it. Much like Arrested Development.

So, is the final season going to take off from where the show left off or is the final season going to fill in the gap that the couple minutes showed at the end? What would you rather see? The future of Pawnee or have the gap filled in?

No interest in the gap being filled unless we're talking a really quick overview. Pretty much the entire reason they did it was to inject some new life into the show for the final run, which definitely included skipping over the pregnancy/new parent recycled jokes.

Best law firm name ever: Fwar, Dips, Winshares, Gritt, Babip, Pecota, Vorp & Eckstein LLP
Isn't that great? P&R co-creator Michael Schur is a big baseball fan and has made many appearances on Joe Posnanski's podcast. I'm sure that law firm name and the World Series gag from the second episode were his handiwork.

Yeah, I'm sure it was. I was a big fan of his "Fire Joe Morgan" site back in the day. Hoping Schur will have some free time and revive it once Parks is off the air.

The law firm first appeared in an episode back in 2013, believe the context was Ron going to a lawyer to set up his will. There was a quick shot of the plaque before the scene. Back then, it was "Babip, Pecota, Vorp, & Eckstein Attorneys at Law". They've expanded now that we're in 2017.

I laughed for a solid five minutes not only at "Les...Les Vegetables" but Ron's clear satisfaction that he came up with such a great alias.
