1. Jesse Biddle, LHP, 21The 6-4, 225 pound lefty had a 3.22 ERA in 26 starts in the Florida State League in 2012. He will likely open the 2013 season at Double A Reading.2. Roman Quinn, SS, 19Former high school centerfielder is built like Jimmy Rollins, but is a work in progress at shortstop. His blazing speed and ability to switch-hit are big pluses.3. Tommy Joseph, C, 21The centerpiece of the trade that sent Hunter Pence to San Francisco is the organization’s catcher of the future. He has presence that belies his age. Scouts think he could hit for power. Figures to be in major-league camp and play at Triple A in 2013.4. Jonathan Pettibone, RHP, 22The Phils’ most advanced pitching prospect, he got to Triple A in the second half of the 2012 season and will get a look for big-league work in spring training.5. Adam Morgan, LHP, 22The team’s third-round pick in the 2011 draft out of the University of Alabama was impressive at Double A in 2012. He has the potential to rise quickly.6. Ethan Martin, RHP, 23Power-armed righthander came over from the Dodgers in the Shane Victorino deal. He was the first high-school pitcher selected in the 2008 draft (15th overall) and has been slow coming along. Seems to be putting it together as control has improved. Could be in Triple A in 2013.7. Cody Asche, 3B, 22The Phils’ fourth-round pick in 2011 out of the University of Nebraska was the system’s fastest riser in 2012. He went from hitting .192 in the New York-Penn League in 2011 to putting up big numbers in 2012 at Single A Clearwater and Double A Reading. In 518 at-bats at those two levels, he hit .324 with 33 doubles, 6 triples, 12 homers and 72 RBIs. The left-handed hitter projects as the Phils’ third baseman of the future and the future might not be far away.8. Maikel Franco, 3B, 20Franco, a native of the Dominican Republic, could be a power-hitting corner infielder if it all comes together. He projects to play at Clearwater in 2013.9. Darin Ruf, LF/1B, 26He makes his first appearance on the list after hitting his way from Double A to the majors in 2012. For the calendar year, Ruf hit 52 homers in three leagues on two continents. He will get a chance to win a job in the Phils’ outfield in spring training.10. Carlos Tocci, OF, 17Teenager from Venezuela is a pure baseball player with excellent instincts and speed. He’s a top defender who could develop into a good average hitter.
