Why would you want to hate Phish fins? They're all about having a great party. m()f()s in Shoreline in a Maze right now.....
Not sure. Can't really put my finger on it. I hate the song Maze....and Foam. There's probably more Phish songs I don't like than like honestly, but the one's I like really hit me.

and now a Mike's groove. the fellas are rewarding peeps for trekking down from the City on a Wed nite.

#### me for now flying up for this.

Don't know how someone can know Phish and not enjoy a jammed out Maze.

It just does nothing for me and I know Phish. I know it gets some energy going towards the end but it's just too frenzied with no melody...I'd rather hear a Wedge.

Are you there or Phishtubing this #####? I feel bad about letting these Gorge tickets go to waste.
nah, my brother is there, and I'm following the setlist via twitter. was streaming it earlier, but hoodstream bonked mid way thru.
Yea, they were having issues with the stream, bummer to because wow what a show! The Gorge is gonna be sick.

Shoreline last night was tons of fun and left me wanting more. 1st set was very tight, particularly the golgi > haley's > chalkdust > divided sky opening salvo. Some downtime after that, I went to take a leak during when the circus comes to town and most of time turns elastic, but caught the end of the TTE jam which was cool. Ripping page solo in Ya Mar brought the energy back up, a tight suzy and great bowie finished it off. they had these huge military cargo planes flying overhead for most of the first set, at times that made it seem like it was all coordinated somehow.

2nd set was a little lackluster for me, though the DWD jam was great: spacy, dirty, etc.. they broke out a VU cover that they hadn't played since 1998 that was pretty cool.... Mikes > Simple > Weekapaug was just sorta meh for me.

First encore was a ballad I was not familiar with (let me lie) and it seemed to take the wind out of everyone's sails. You knew they wouldn't leave it at that though, and finished on an up note with axis: bold as love.

All in all, a very good time. It was good to see this band playing so tight, even if the song selection and some of the jams left me wanting more.

Just listened to two Phish shows while driving around Alaska, north of Anchorage. Headed to Palmer and then the Hatcher Pass. Amazing, just amazing (Phish and the Pass!). 30+ miles at almost 4000'. Tomorrow, headed south to find me some glaciers. :lmao:

Wow, that's awesome, good for you. Road trip? Solo? What inspired the journey?

Work...solo. I travel around when we move our offices to new buildings or open a new office...and set up all the voice/data...basically get the new location ready to roll. Of course I booked a little extra time in Alaska on the company dime. They're pretty good like that for a trip like this. I saw you popped into my Alaska thread. I'll have more details in there later.

Looking forward to SPAC later this month. Was at Great Woods earlier this summer. Was a decent Phish show, nothing extraordinary, but not crushingly disappointing....

One of the best setlists ever

One of the best setlists ever
I know uh. I haven't heard the show yet, but by just looking I can't even tell which set is better the first or the second??Yanked on my tunic and dangled my stash . . .
 Looks like a hell of a show. However - what's the deal with needing to buy a 3-day pass to catch the Halloween show. Would love to catch my 3rd Halloween show and enjoy them covering Thriller, but can't do all three days.

As I understand it single day tickets don't go on sale for another few weeks, but they will be available.

Damn. The Gorge is so the dank!

I downloaded but I can't get it to play or unzip :hot: Tried winamp, it wants to but it just keeps skipping??
Had issues using ZipGenius at first, but removed the subfolders option and was able to extract. There appear to be MAC and PC files in there, so make sure you grab the right files.
Got it, thanks! The road was his end, his end was that road, so they say . . .

ETA: that is a HOT Possum!! They are soooooo back.

Curious, do you Phish Phans think they are better than The Dead?
Better is tough, depends on how what we mean. I liked the Dead scene a bit better, but Phish jams at a level the Dead never came close to, so like I said, it depends. I saw them both, had a blast every time. I like Ratdog a lot, they are fun live. If I had to choose I would choose Phish, but mostly because I saw them a lot more.

Looks like a great setlist, anyone go to this?

No offense to deadheads but the dead couldnt come close to the jams and peaks that phish does. And I am a Dead fan.

Apples and oranges. I saw Phish during their prime, and would still rather be transported back to '70 - '74 to see the Dead, whom I only saw when they were on the decline (post 1990).

Got shut out of Hartford Friday night, went down without a ticket and the place was overrun. I could have paid a scalper but took a stand since I knew I was going to Saratoga Sunday. Seriously I don't know where they all came from but Hartford had hundreds of people looking for tix.

Last night's show was certainly in my top Phish shows. The first set was blistering, it was just one after another. Opened up with Llama, which is a great song to open with, I don't know why they don't play it more so I was really psyched for it last night. The jam that came out of Ocelot was great and then the Antelope close, all that on top of a Cavern, Possum, Bowie, Chalkdust. These are the setlists I love although I think a lot of the Phish heads prefer the stuff that I don't.

Second set opener was Backwards Down the Number Line and it was really hot. Great jam came out of that one, needs to be heard. They definately have the new songs dialed in now.

As we went deeper into the show, the second set got a little goofy as they were definately having a good time on stage. They were teasing something with a lot of vocals when all of a sudden Trey makes this Bozo the clown gesture and they break into Harpua. So Trey starts telling the story and all of a sudden starts talking about this spiritual guide and low and behold Fishman comes center stage doing this loud meditating hum. Trey goes on the drum set and Fishman starts seeing that song "I kissed a girl and I liked it." Pretty good comical moment for the band and crowd.

I do think they powered it out so much in the first set that they didn't have that much gas in the second set, there were a lot of a cappela bits. The YEM wasn't anything special but they did go in to a lengthy vocal jam at the end, which the crowd liked a lot more than I did.

Highway to Hell to end the show and I think they were really tired at this point. Indio will be special, wish I could pull it together because I am definately back on the Phish train now.

Bottom line I would definately recommend this show as a download.

This is the kind of stuff that gets scalpers to buy up all the tickets to say the Gorge, then when they realize no one is going to drive to the middle of the desert without a ticket, they get screwed and throw them on the ground; or stick them in the fence as was the case at Alpine. :hot:

Listening to a lot of shows back, these last two weeks have been some of the best Phish ever. They are on fire right now and I hope they announce more dates than just Indio. In Saratoga, Trey was acting like he wished the tour wasn't ending so I wouldn't be surprised if they come back prior to Indio.

No way. They have to learn an entire album by Halloween. I would be shocked if they announce more dates prior to Indio. That being said, Indio is gonna be off the charts!! I am so stoked to have tixs and an RV already reserved!!!Bag it, tag it . . .

It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have tour dates after Halloween either. Maybe a 2-3 week tour in the NE and SE, but I think it's just as likely the next shows after Indio will be some type of NYE tour -- has this been announced yet?

Word on the street is that there will be three New Year's Eve shows in Miami, or maybe Big Cyprus; but all rumor as of now.And in response to the FYI "they learn songs in ten minutes", FYI they also have never been big fans of touring a.k.a. Dead style. Plus, Mike already has tour dates this fall for his band, and I am sure Trey has other projects going, so . . .
