Looks like I'll be hitting up Cincy and Pittsburgh...Never been to that venue in Cincy, if anyone has, how is it??

Only show I caught last year was the benefit show in Burlington. Considering I wasnt on tour or anything, and I hadnt seen them since the previous summer in 2010, I was surprised I was a little underwhelmed. I think part of it had to do with my hardcore phriend I went with really talking about how they were going to bust songs out (which they didnt), plus a fenced in beer zone, and being more sober than drunk, but I was a little disappointed with the actual show. Still a fun few days, for sure.

Agreed, although theyre kind of close. Main kicker for me is the 8th had 3 of my favorite few and far between (if not rarity songs) in Roses, Axilla, and Sand....while the other night only had Buried Alive.The 7th definitely had more covers and new school stuff

Tonight's set doesnt look quite as good as the other recent ones but still nice nonetheless. The last night in AC looks killer to me. Foam? Drowned? A Day In the Life? Awesome. Love that Roses are Free is back, but Im hoping they dont play it again so I get one in Cincy or the Burgh. As much as I love Ween, I think Phish's version blows it out of the water and its one of my favorite covers of theirs

That AC night was Caspian > Silent in the Morning. Not a Caspian fan, but Silent is arguably my favorite slow tune of theirs. Now that I think about it, Im not sure if Ive seen a Silent yet in 50+ shows

I like Silent as well. But not in the middle of set 2, and not after Caspian. I guess the good thing is I'd be able to get a beer after my Caspian bathroom break.

I was following as well.Was perusing some other boards like PhantasyTour and it seemed like alot of trolling and negativity towards last night and the tour in general. But I'll be the first to admit I'm glad I won't see that setlist on Sunday, but if I had I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining the next day. At least in this thread we don't have the people that think they are the #### because they ran with Phish in their prime and anyone else that doesn't fit that description doesn't know what they are talking about.

Fantastic show last night...was four rows back from the small orchestra pit, inside aisle, by Page. Downloading right now and pumped to relive it. First set ripped right out with Sample and some personal favorites in Tube and Gin, sandwiched by Axilla. Took their time in between songs during this time, possibly changing things up as the crowd was really fierce last night. The band certainly outdid the beginning of the Blossom show two years ago. End of the first set was insane...another favorite The Wedge and then Corinna and Meatstick! Place was nuts. So funky, Gordo was crushing. Trey brought at least 15 fans onto stage too.Second set took right off where they left off. Great great start...Ghost was sweet. Another fav in Rift into Tweezer (see below!)...Walk Away, heard that in Pitt 3yrs ago but it was no letdown. Only real song I don't care for that they played was Silent, so I'll take it. Piper, Waste > Antelope was off the hook. Cup > Tweeprise...doesn't get much better than this for that type of night.Overall just a great fun show. Killer jams, tightness was there, fantastic setlist, great crowd and venue and staff. A few jams seemed like they were just getting into their groove and they went right into a transition...but it's not like it was a short show as they went on at 7:40 and played til after 11. Really wish I was seeing them again this year....just missing them when I'm in Cali for work.

setlist looks great. i can't wait to hear that Tweezer with the Reprise and Under Pressure twists.

I'm glad that Phish is still around and entertaining folks and making people happy, but they just don't do it for me anymore. The variety in song selection is nice, but they're basically just playing their songs nowadays. There's rarely any Type II jamming where they are making up new chord progressions as they go, or playing music devoid of any structure. Pretty much all the jamming they do now is guitar & piano solos within the established chord patterns of each song. I need "off the script" and inspired jamming like they used to do back in the 93-98 era to whet my whistle.

The only exceptions in the last decade have been the “USA Storage” late night jam from last summer's Super Ball IX, and the IT Festival tower jam back in 2003 - both featured simply sublime ambient & improvisational jamming. While I've delighted in these rare episodes, at the same time it kind of annoys me that they are still capable of these delicious adventures yet choose not to except for very rare occasions. If they did this kind of jamming on a once-per-week or a couple-of-times-per-tour basis, I'd probably still catch every show within a 300-mile radius of me.

In fairness, I pretty much tune out posters when they start posting fan resumes. I somewhat understand their perspective, as I was a big DMB fan back in the day yet have soured on them in recent years, but I think whenever you're about to start typing up a post and feel the need to state your credentials before bashing away, maybe it's time to take a step back and realize that you're turning into that bitter guy you hated back when you were actually enjoying the band.

I guess you told him. Especially with that "I saw Dave back in the day" resume shout out.ETA: I've seen four shows at Bill Graham and every one of them suffered from the poor acoustics in the place. Granted, I've never seen Phish there, so maybe Paul is able to work magic.

That said, sounds like he still listens to them alot, including the new stuff, or I'm not sure how one would come to those conclusions. Personally, I thought there was some pretty random #### going on Sunday throughout the show, but I don't know half as much as some of you here.

In fairness, I pretty much tune out posters when they start posting fan resumes. I somewhat understand their perspective, as I was a big DMB fan back in the day yet have soured on them in recent years, but I think whenever you're about to start typing up a post and feel the need to state your credentials before bashing away, maybe it's time to take a step back and realize that you're turning into that bitter guy you hated back when you were actually enjoying the band.

Saw my first Phish show in 1993 and am now over 75 lifetime. I'm glad that Phish is still around and entertaining folks and making people happy, but they just don't do it for me anymore. The variety in song selection is nice, but they're basically just playing their songs nowadays. There's rarely any Type II jamming where they are making up new chord progressions as they go, or playing music devoid of any structure. Pretty much all the jamming they do now is guitar & piano solos within the established chord patterns of each song. I need "off the script" and inspired jamming like they used to do back in the 93-98 era to whet my whistle. The only exceptions in the last decade have been the “USA Storage” late night jam from last summer's Super Ball IX, and the IT Festival tower jam back in 2003 - both featured simply sublime ambient & improvisational jamming. While I've delighted in these rare episodes, at the same time it kind of annoys me that they are still capable of these delicious adventures yet choose not to except for very rare occasions. I guess you told him. Especially with that "I saw Dave back in the day" resume shout out.ETA: I've seen four shows at Bill Graham and every one of them suffered from the poor acoustics in the place. Granted, I've never seen Phish there, so maybe Paul is able to work magic.

Saw WSP there in 2000. On the floor, maybe 20 feet from stage. Was fantastic.

Fantastic show last night...was four rows back from the small orchestra pit, inside aisle, by Page. Downloading right now and pumped to relive it. First set ripped right out with Sample and some personal favorites in Tube and Gin, sandwiched by Axilla. Took their time in between songs during this time, possibly changing things up as the crowd was really fierce last night. The band certainly outdid the beginning of the Blossom show two years ago. End of the first set was insane...another favorite The Wedge and then Corinna and Meatstick! Place was nuts. So funky, Gordo was crushing. Trey brought at least 15 fans onto stage too.Second set took right off where they left off. Great great start...Ghost was sweet. Another fav in Rift into Tweezer (see below!)...Walk Away, heard that in Pitt 3yrs ago but it was no letdown. Only real song I don't care for that they played was Silent, so I'll take it. Piper, Waste > Antelope was off the hook. Cup > Tweeprise...doesn't get much better than this for that type of night.Overall just a great fun show. Killer jams, tightness was there, fantastic setlist, great crowd and venue and staff. A few jams seemed like they were just getting into their groove and they went right into a transition...but it's not like it was a short show as they went on at 7:40 and played til after 11. Really wish I was seeing them again this year....just missing them when I'm in Cali for work.
