So while this wasn't the announcement, it sure pushes things in the direction of having a streaming presence. Owning the ROH library allows you to do so many packages for the current talent, and have enough material to have a decent backlog library to bring to a streaming service.

Kinda wish he would have called Billy and bought the NWA as well. We need the Ten Pounds Of Gold competed for on TV on a regular basis.

Could Cody come back and lead an ROH "invasion" of AEW and then settle in as the HHH role for that brand? Would make a ton of sense, and would be a huge FU to WWE that he leaves them at the alter right at WM time.

 
Should be interesting who they have face McAfee. Presume it'll be Austin Theory but wonder if they may be thinking about Stone Cold (but don't know 100% if he'll work yet). A lot of pressure to put on McAfee too against a guy that's not worked a match in near 20 years (and I'm one that believes McAfee had the greatest in-ring performance in a debut match in wrestling history). That Vince wasn't in character at all during the interview leads me to think it might not be Austin Theory

It sounds like the Kevin Owens/Stone Cold match might be losing steam (or was never going to happen) and if Austin was working a full match, I think it would be announced already to help ticket sales. JerryWorld x 2 is a lot of tickets. Rumors are it's going to be KO (solo or teaming with Rollins) against a team of "Texas Legends", Booker T, JBL, and the like. If a barefoot Kevin Von Erich comes out and puts an Iron Claw on KO, I will lose all my ####. Maybe Austin comes out and does a stunner?

I don't get the Vince match idea at all. McAfee vs. Theory would work to see who Vince likes more?

Some believe Cody to WWE is a work and he's really coming back to AEW in something similar to what you put out. WWE marks would be absolutely floored though which is fine by me.

Also ROH had the rights to the first All Out PPV which is a huge get for AEW btw. 

 
The only WWE thing I even care about right now is 2K22. Game looks amazing. fairly good roster and ironic considering all the names still in it that were released. GM mode is back and looks like it has potential to grow as they develop it more over the next few yrs. Showcase mode is Rey Mysterio but seems more like it's going off his 2nd WWE run with Eddie and possible starting back story of WCW (Wish they put Psicosis in here as those were some great matches between those two).

Wasn't that good there was never gonna be any controversial questions or gotcha moments since Pat Works for Vince. Had Pat not been on Vince's payroll I doubt he goes on the show because McAfee would've just exposed how out of touch he is with reality today. This was one of those interviews where the company gives a reporter/journalist the rub If he promises to ask softball type questions. Helps the company get bigger coverage etc. 

This isn't like Vince went on Jericho Podcast with a tell all my about the company is basically my point. They intentionally stayed away from certain topics wrestling fans want to know

Agree this wasn't like he went on Jericho's Pod and did a tell all. Stayed away from a lot of topics I think most of us and others would've liked to have heard his opinion. This interview did a lot to protect Vince too.

WWE definitely worked the dirtsheets on this one. Twitter even as #WWEMSG was the #1 trend. For a house show.

Theory has bright future but the sheets were definitely alluding to something bigger for that MSG show and Lesnar.

 
Apparently WWE creative is back off on Cody plans. Now there's word WWE doesn't know if he's coming and McMahon gave him a lower offer then before. 

Swerve Debuted at Revolution and looks like Redbeard Rowan will be in AEW. 

Reports that Jeff Hardy will be at Dynamite on Wednesday. 

 
Also BR app sucks can't even watch the PPV on my laptop and the app keeps freezing. Had to go find a blackmarket stream that is literally better. Hoping to go back and rewatch the PPV tomorrow or something.

I am 45 and after helping coach my daughters 6th/7th/8th grade volleyball practice on Friday night I was sore waking up on Saturday.  Can't imaging waking up after a wrestling match, let alone a 10' dive through tables in 17 years.

 
I would love to know what was negotiated for AEW being allowed to play the Hardy Boyz theme song. First negotiation rights with MJF in 2024? Use of one AEW talent in next year's Rumble? Close out the Cody deal back to the WWE?

EDIT: Twitter answered my question. WWE never actually owned the rights to that song. AEW apparently does now.

Yeah the guy who wrote it owned it, along with Hardcore Holly and someone else's themes, Tony bought the whole catalog.

Wrestling INC had a good article on this hours before the debut. WWE never owned the rights and AEW was trying to negotiate. Also talked how WWE Owns the No More Words (Band who wrote it broke up and was performed by the band on WWE music album) while Jeff Owns the Modest and other IMPACT entrance themes he has as they are his own music. 

 
Big E rushed to hospital tonight. Alert and moving extremities as he updated in a video just a few minutes ago. Informed everyone he broke his neck. Seemed in good spirits during the video

 
I am no wrestling expert, but there is no way that spot should have been tried outside the ring on flat ground, where there is little to no give. There was zero elevation on that lift.

Like any other move, it works if performed correctly. Perhaps if it wasn’t some n00b like Ridge Holland attempting it, Big E would be okay. 
This raises the point about WWE bringing in more non-wrestlers. Anyone that has the look will get bum rushed to the main roster yet be greener than people claim Jade Cargill to be. 

 
Vince has renamed Pete Dunn Brutus for his SDlive Debut. Dunn looks like he'll be future endeavored within the next year with that name

I agree certain wrestlers shouldn't perform certain moves but Ridge Holland has over 5 yrs in the business from '16  till now. Jade barely has 2 yrs in the business 1st match was AEW. Holland went from Indies to NXTUK-NXT-Main roster. The issue with Jade is she didn't earn her chance and was essentially put on a rocket to the top right away for as green as she is. It's not like AEW didn't have legit talent in front of her in Shida, Thunder Rosa, Statlander, Soho, Deeb and Conti.

Thats the main problem people have with Jade plus she's somewhat dangerous in the ring.

Whether 2 years or 5, IMO you have to be able to take care of your opponent in the ring.  I would submit that Jade got the rocket strapped to her back because, while her wrestling isn't quite up to snuff yet, her look and her promos are what pay the bills for her right now.  Proper wrestling technique can be taught, muscles can be built up, but you can't teach charisma.  She's got two of the three right now, and if her weaknesses are hidden well enough, she can get better.  Just my :2cents:

She can have all of that sure but you could just make her a heel for now and not put a rocket on her. Let her earn her keep. Putting a title on her even secondary can send a wrong message to people in the locker room. I know they are suppose to be professionals but I'd be PO'd if some new person with barely any experience got to do stuff before me who has over 15 yrs in the business. Plus given its a new title I'd have had someone who was legit with it like Rosa/Soho/etc to make it a bit more meaningful. 

But thats just me. I just wouldn't have put her this high in the pecking order just yet. 

 
Scott Hall showing up on Nitro prompted a buddy of mine to tell me "We should watch wrestling this Monday."  I was like "Huh?"  But we did, and where we lived we could watch Nitro live and Raw on tape delay and have a 4 (and eventually 5) hour binge of wrestling.  I hadn't watched since the mid to late 80s, and the NWO invasion kicked off 6-ish year run for me.

Stone Cold's "What?" era was the end of watching consistently.  But man, 97-03 was so danged fun.

RIP Scott Hall. 

 
RIP to the Bad Guy.

I was too young to remember the Razor days, but he was on my tv screen the earliest I can remember on Nitro making me fall in love with wrestling.

 
Hall was at the end of my wrestling watching.   Enjoyed watching him.   Grew up on WWOR (channel 9) in the nyc area and TBS.    sad to hear this.  rip.

 
This sucks. Hall IMHO out of the whole NWO was probably the most talented in ring other then Pac. Hogan was the star obviously but Hall could've gone out on his own and done big things. He's what Vince is trying to get today from his big guys. A lot of charisma and good promo skills but the dude was pretty athletic for a big guy. I was too young to remember all of the Razor Ramon era but grew up with NWO at the least. 

His son Cody Hall had a brief run in NJPW as a member of Bullet club which took some of the NWO stuff like the Too Sweet and a few other things they did and modernized it. What people don't know is NWO was a NJPW thing with Muta, Hiroysi Tenyzan, Chodo Satoshi Kojima and Scott Norton. Bischoff ripped it off from NJPW. Bullet Club in Japan was the new Gajin Heel faction that was a newer version of NWO. Scott Hall was a big fan of Finn Balor btw who he reminds people was an original Bullet Club leader as Prince Devitt in Japan. 

Either way happy Hall got into the HoF before his death. Still one of the most underrated performers ever. This sucks big time.
