Jay Briscoe has passed away at 38. Damn that sucks.

ETA: WMDT 47 out of Salisbury, MD reported that he was 1 of 2 people who died in a car crash around 5:30 this afternoon.

RIP Jay. I had the privilege of meeting the Briscoes when in ROH. I know some haven't let go some stuff Jay tweeted awhile back but that wasn't Jay. He played a character. One of the nicest most accepting guys in the locker room. Was big in getting a lot of LGBTQ wrestlers matches. Went to a lot of ROH matches. The Briscoes no matter heel or face were always very popular and always took time to say thank you to the fans.

You don't think of ROH Tag Division without Jay and Mark Briscoe first. Jay also had tweeted prior with his brother

For those not aware and I've discussed and posted this on here but Warner Bros wouldn't let the Briscoes appear on TV because in 2O13 of Jay's comments on Gay people. This was also the reason WWE wouldn't sign Jay but then they went out and dealt with the Saudi's who are anti LBTQ+ and in their country being gay gets you death. So go figure.

WOR: Warner Brothers Discovery would not allow AEW to run a Jay Briscoe tribute event on their networks.
Tony Khan will be going ahead with multiple tributes to Briscoe that wont air on TNT or TBS. The first of which was an ROH Celebration of Life event taped after Rampage in Fresno.

The very first episode of ROH's new weekly TV show will also feature tributes to Briscoe and Suoercard of Honor will be dedicated to the fallen legend as well.

D'Von Dudley has left WWE mutually. From someone I talked to it stems from him not being allowed to work some appearances for ECW tribute shows among other things.

Shawn Spears and his wife Peyton Royced welcomed Austin Jay into the world on 17th of January. This is their first child together. Shawn has taken some time off from AEW with Peyton pregnant.

In some fun news my Friend who works for TMobile is doing an event in North Philly with Biance on Mon 11-1 for the RAW appearance. I'd go but nose bleeds are costing you a Benjamin now. Not worth it. I just spent $15 to go watch MLW at the ECW Arena last Friday for better seats and more fun. plus less Expensive.

BREAKING: The cover and release date for WWE 2K23 have reportedly been leaked
In now since-deleted tweets, a Microsoft store data miner has uncovered that the cross-gen edition of WWE 2K23 will be released on Xbox consoles on Friday, March 17.
It is also expected that a deluxe edition of WWE 2K23 will be released on Tuesday, March 14.

Mr You Can't See Me John Cena will be the cover athlete as well

Per the Observer Rock can't get in shape nor has the time for Mania especially with XFL Launch

Talked to some people myself who feel Rock is using it as an excuse as he doesn't want to be associated or deal with the Drama in WWE right now from the Sale and Vince issues right now. If he's at RAW Anniversary obviously this was just a ploy to surprise people or throw people off for the time being

WON: Right now from the CM Punk side, the belief is that Tony Khan has put Punk on ice for now, as there are no ideas to use him that have been presented, but there’s been no talk at all of late to release him either.

“This past year, there were many attempts to get the Briscoes on AEW television. They were actually flown in a few times to TV but they weren’t allowed to be used. There were plans for them on the “All Out” show in Chicago, to be in a six-man tag with FTR & Wardlow vs. The Briscoes & Jay Lethal. But, without being able to promote it on television and because the broadcast partners didn’t want them on AEW broadcasts, the decision was made to bring in Impact’s Motor City Machine Guns out of nowhere to team with Lethal.”

LA Knight should really go over Bray at Rumble. He's really outshined him in their program. Bray's not been awful but he's really dragged it out and the Bray character itself got tired many years ago IMO. Outside of Roman/Sami, LA Knight's been the most interesting thing on their programming. It's gonna be hard to push him as a top-ish card type of doesn't go over here IMO. Maybe Uncle Bo will cost Bray at Rumble leading to Mania match.

Molasses in January moves faster than this story.

Would've had to pay over $1OO to sit nose bleed section for RAW. Glad I didn't go especially after I saw Hogan would be there. I watched maybe an hour or so of it. Saw Hogan botch the opening which is embarrassing just stop bringing him on. Really nice to see ABA Undertaker as that was always my favorite. My Uncle drives Harley's and looks a bit like Taker during that era too and out of my dad's side he's always been my favorite uncle. They apparently cut the steel cage match because of time length with The Trial of Zayn. They could've cut that in half and taken out the Hogan segment and had a nice Cage match. They could've cut down on the DX Segment. Same old BS not even funny these days. Didn't see anything after Million Dollar Man took the poker game.

Nice to See Johnny Wrasslin' and Candace are already used as Background extras in segments already. Some of Hunters resigns have been huge ****ing misses. Willing to bet they saw how Over LA Knight was going on Bray so they brought in Taker to give Bray some rub. Just really glad I didn't spend that $$ to go plus I'm trying to plan a trip to BOS a week from Sat.

In memory of Jay Briscoe, on what would've been his 39th birthday, Mark Briscoe will take on Jay Lethal.
This is going to be rough.
Let us all come together as we watch Mark go through his toughest performance in honor of his fallen brother.

I haven't watched much wrestling recently, but decided to give RAW 30 a shot.

Frankly, it was just kind of a snooze fest throughout. The trial went on waaaayyyy to long. I get that Sami is way over, but then we get him in a match and it seems like the first hour had the USO's and Sami on the screen for all of it. That could have been cut down and thrown in another legend appearance.

It was great seeing Taker come back with the ABA look, but watching him try to climb in the ring was so sad. I have to admit I haven't followed the whole LA Knight character too closely because I find him kind of boring whenever he comes on the screen.

The DX skit comes on and it was great to see the old guys up there, but again that went on too long with the only payoff being Teddy Long's appearance.

The women get shuffled to the back of the bus again.

The best part of the night was Brock throwing Theory on Lashley for the pin.

I think to myself (and this is assuming WWE survives another 5 years) , who are the current legends? I mean the list is long with the talent we grew up watching, but they are pretty much the ones that still get the pop, In five years, let's face it, some of the old guard are going to be dead or unable to even get down the ramp. Part-timers like Brock, Cena and the Rock may still be around to make an appearance, but who in the current stable other than Roman, could come out as a surprise at RAW 35 and get a huge pop? I guess maybe Orton or Seth? Maybe i am just overly nostalgic, but the lack of newer talent that are superstars seems to be pretty underwhelming. Maybe it is because the old timers are still around and new talent isn't given the opportunity to get that push?? I don't know, just a thought I was mulling over.

Should've been Balor, Styles, Seth and Mox with Punk and Bryan but WWE and Vince ****ed it up so much. Legnds should only be used in certain segments that make sense. The issue is WWE rely's on the Legends far too much to push the gate and ratings it's becoming boring. Vince didn't want to push the Guys I mentioned because they weren't his guys originally. Roman was pushed to the moon and then stopped appearing since he was immune Compromised with the Pandemic. Only reason he has the Heel gimmick and Heyman is because he threatened Vince he'd leave and get out of his contract using Workplace safety as the main reason and legally I've heard he'd have won with the lack of precautions WWE had during the Early days of the pandemic. It literally took a ****ing pandemic and Roman threatening to leave for McMahon to change his mind on how to use Roman.

WWE over the years has missed on so many talents over the years or oppurtunities because Vince lives in his own world. One of the great things about Tony khan and AEW is they are willing to work with other companies to make wrestling better overall. If it was up to Vince he'd own every promotion and let them all die besides WWE.

RAW was pretty lack luster itself. Use the Legends to create rub for the talent currently like they did with Taker and Bray. Cut a few of those segments off. A few of my friends went because they were excited about the steel Cage match even thinking RAW Anniversary they got to put that on as Main Event. Instead we had too much of Bloodline and Big Nose boss Hunter had to get his 15 min airtime again with his Former Stable that is just bland and uses the same over used jokes every anniversary there is with them now

Great Raw. Had front row seats and wonderful experience. Crowd went nuts for Hogan and DX. Everyone was relieved no cage match as wasn't needed on a night for legends
So great to see Hogan, the undisputed GOAT. Still pops with fans and looks fantastic.
It's always seeing the witless youngsters crapping all over Hogan (or any legend whose peak pre-dated them). These are probably the same people who think Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones were overrated. :lmao:

God forbid younger generations crap on a racist who used Steroids and got over with a cheap gimmick for yrs and was never that great in the ring. It's called accountability. I know the older folks don't like it but tough **** this is the new world where clowns like Hogan finally get held accountable. Some of these guys were good talent but terrible people. Talent shouldn't excuse their poor behavior especially those who helped cover Vince sexually assaulting his employees and covering up Brisco's sexcapes with the ring boys.

Hogan was wonderful after the show signing autographs for everyone 👍 City of Brotherly loved Hulk, Brother 💪
Whatever his many flaws are, and we all have them, Terry Bollea has always been good to the fans; I have read too many stories about that to believe otherwise. Even in character when he turned heel in '96, rather than playing the "I never really cared about the fans" angle, he played the "the fans came out here and booed me, so they can stick it" angle instead, adding some realism to it since Hulk Hogan wasn't super over as a face with the WCW crowds after his initial impact in '94. I often say that you had to witness how huge Michael Jackson's Thriller was in real time to real get how huge it was, and I think the same can be said about Hogan's run from '84 to the end of the decade in the WWF. Remember the pops Daniel Bryan got during the Yes movement? Hogan got those like every night for 6+ years. It was crazy.

Not a huge fan of WWE anymore. I think most of the show is still the same as when Vince left. Hunter has missed on a lot of the resigning.Gargano's are backstage extras already top Dolla is a huge Flop, Bray is getting out done by LA Knight. The only thing good Is the Gallows and Anderson stuff.

No I didn't enjoy RAW. It was your basic anniversary show throw as many legends on and try to get a better rating because you haven't created your own new stars in years. DX with their typical Boring Schtick these , Bloodline stuff went on far too long, the only good segment with Legend was the Taker which is how you're suppose to use them these days. I find watch AEW, IMPACT at times and NJPW far more entertaining then RAW these days. I can maybe sit through SDL though but nothing is really on RAW besides Judgement day and the OG that I am interested in.

Because he got off on a cheap pop gimmick where most people were brainwashed patriotism for their country. So they took advantage of it. Similar to SGT Slaughter turning heel and siding with the Iranian heels. Stuff like that was super played out in those times. When they tried doing it with Rusev it didn't work as well because it's not that great anymore. Like I've said props to them for taking advantage of it during the time but how many wrestlers got buried because of Hogan's ego.

Exactly! Don't have to look any further than this thread to see evidence of that.

Japan has lifted its “no cheering“ policy in all indoor stadiums for sporting events, effective immediately.
This means the “clap crowd” era in NJPW is now over.

THQ has finally got the news they have been waiting for from the ESRB, after submitting their “Fight Forever” game for their desired “T” for a 4th time, it has finally been approved, according a source that spoke to us this past week here at Dirt Sheet Radio.
AEW has reportedly got the go ahead to start promoting the game on TV at their disposal.
When that is going to happen, remains to be seen.

MLW sources have indicted to several wrestling news outlets that they have sent a cease and desist letter to WWE, after the promotion attempted to illegally contact some of its contracted talent to appear on the Raw 30th anniversary show this past Monday night. WWE contacted Lance Anoai'a and Jacob Fatu the Cousins of Roman. WWE went directly to the talent when the are suppose to go to Bauer for permission

Very High Praise from Jake The Snake Roberts on Omega.

Jake Roberts: “Flair and Michaels were great, don’t get me wrong, but are they the best of all-time? God, no. I would honestly put Kenny Omega above both of them.
He’s freaking unbelievable. I really love his finishing maneuver, I think he calls it One-Winged Angel? That running knee to the face, that is pretty crisp too.”
Kenny Omega: “Very high praise coming from the absolute master of psychology. Now I can see why I was mostly safe from Lance Archer all these years.”

I might agree with Roman over Kenny in terms of total package.

Jay White > Roman Reigns in every facet

Cody wins Rumble 🏆

Reigns takes out Zayn post match so he can't enter the Rumble 💪

LA Knight wins over Bray due to Uncle Howdy. LA Knight should win either a title or a MITB match at Mania in LA. Outside the Bloodline stuff, he's the best thing in WWE right now IMO

Edit: Men's Rumble reportedly will kick off the PPV so Reigns likely won't be able to take out Zayn from the Rumble. With Reigns/Owens going on last (reportedly), seems like increases chances of Stone Cold (Or even Rock) showing up.
