AEW Dynamite ratings last week have to be the worst in history. The downfall of the AEW is coming soon? New WCW?
Tony has to be the worst booker ever. Nonsense matches, bad feuds, too much nonsense hardcore...Tony's booking is basically "spin the wheel this week and see what it lands on." Remember the Buckaroos attacking him and beating him up? Outside of him wearing a neck brace the next day to the NFL draft yet still magically moving his head all around as if nothing was wrongI doubt it is (re: AEW in 5-10 years). Tiny Con will have a meltdown before then. (And not just a Twitter one). Its already rapidly approaching the level of current TNA wrestling (which is a better product and probably the better investment for upside by a network as it'll cost nothing)For all of his faults, you can tell Punk loves the idea of pro wrestling and I guarantee he wants the young guys to be trained to do it the right way in the ring (storytelling, ring psychology, etc.).
Meltzer has no credibility left, but even he knows that AEW is a sinking ship. Tony has enough money to keep it from sinking to the very bottom any time soon, but will anyone be surprised if AEW is no long around in 5-10 years?
Hard to see him handing reigns over to anyone as he hasn't done so for the non-existent creative. It's Indy wrestling with a TV deal. Why no one watches and why their attendance is rapidly dwindling. Very rapidly, where was the follow-up with that?
Even with Bryan Danielson, one of the best ever, supposedly on the verge of retiring to a large degree, almost no one is watching or going to most of their events. It doesn't bode well.
Disagree I don’t think they are that bad. Meanwhile there’s WWE fans routinely questioning Hunters bookings. Some of his bookings are just lazy and drawn out. They got at least 3 more years. Unless WBD cancels them. Which if they continue at 300k for their main show could very well happen.AEW Dynamite ratings last week have to be the worst in history. The downfall of the AEW is coming soon? New WCW?
I would like for there to be a strong competitor to the WWE. That felt like a junior high promo. Except that usually by the time they reach junior high, they know how to tie their shoes.
Yikes. Always looks bad when you have to "run" 42 feet to the prop.Garbage can wrestler Moxley with his typical half *** lazy effort
Embarrassing. So glad he's long gone from WWE. Can't talk. His in ring is atrocious. Enjoy performing in front of hundreds the rest of your career![]()
To me, she's the face of the company. She has it all.
Yet they keep on pushing botch Morgan. But don’t worry Hunter only sees talent when pushing people not skin color. To me, she's the face of the company. She has it all.
Moxley is a weird one. I feel like the IWC overrates him a bit, almost like he gets extra credit for leaving WWE for the unknown at the time, and I applaud him for doing it since it was obviously better for his mental health given how unhappy he was professed to be at the end of his tenure in WWE, but on the flip side, he had maxed out there. He was clearly not on the level of Reigns or even Rollins (whom I have never liked), so it had to be a gut punch seeing one of his old buddies constantly pushed as THE face of the company and the other to be a pretty consistent top level/main event guy, while he knew he was destined for the mid-card. He is better being a big fish in a little pond; he can be a consistent top guy in the minor leagues (AEW), but never would have been that in WWE. That spot you posted is pretty awful, though.Garbage can wrestler Moxley with his typical half *** lazy effort

Yes, and my stances on early AEW are right there with any other fan.Yep, and we see it with the lone AEW fan in this thread, who floods it non-stop with crap that makes you think that the AEW is thriving, while WWE is struggling, and loves to go on and on about Vince, as a pathetic attempt to diminish the current WWE product, and also constantly posts supposed news without sources (which he was told not to do, yet he does it anyway, which shows his total disdain for Joe and the other mods here), a lot of which I honestly thinks he makes up. He's like the FFA version of Meltzer. This is the truth. From reddit:
Unfortunately, AEW lost its biggest heel. It wasn't Omega, it wasn't MJF, it wasn't Jericho (implying that they ever lost him in the first place). It was Vince McMahon. He was the common enemy that AEW fans could always rally against.
AEW had a bad angle? "I'm sure they will somehow find a way to salvage this unlike Vince". Tony Kahn screwed up with something big time? "Well, he's just inexperienced, Vince would have made things 10 times worse". With the regime change, not only is WWE making a better product, but people actually want to enjoy the show now instead of ****ting on the product 24/7.
That was my problem with AEW since day one. What's the point for a "Western mainstream alternative to the WWE" when people don't want an alternative anymore. Even if he didn't get chased out, Vince was way closer to his last day on the job than he was his first.![]()
Agreed. The tribalistic nature of online wrestling fans is so toxic. Go on Twitter and all you saw last week was loyal AEW fans complaining about the blood in the Punk/Drew match. No, no, let's not praise what most have called an instant classic match, but focus on something silly to try and take away from it. Sure, part of it is that their hatred for Punk, as deep down they know that his departure last year was the beginning of the steep decline and he's the easy scapegoat rather than blaming the children in charge there, but part of it is how tribal wrestling fans are in general. I suspect it would have been just as bad in the 80s with the WWF taking command and the NWA trailing far behind, and I cannot imagine the online wars that would have happened during the Monday Night Wars of the 90s between WCW and the WWF. Some wrestling fans are just too concerned with blind loyalty and/or "being right" rather than just enjoying good product wherever it happens.Yes, and my stances on early AEW are right there with any other fan.Yep, and we see it with the lone AEW fan in this thread, who floods it non-stop with crap that makes you think that the AEW is thriving, while WWE is struggling, and loves to go on and on about Vince, as a pathetic attempt to diminish the current WWE product, and also constantly posts supposed news without sources (which he was told not to do, yet he does it anyway, which shows his total disdain for Joe and the other mods here), a lot of which I honestly thinks he makes up. But this isn't 2019-2021 AEW. This is 2024 AEW and it's not good television. Still better than declining WCW, but only on the back of a few very talented workers that continue to make their PPVs prime entertainment.
I'm most sad that they stole Okada from New Japan, which may lead to NJPW squandering 3 of their most promising talents in a long time. Tsuji Yota ought to be taking the belt off Just-Past Prime Okada, not Sad Kneeless Naito.
It's kinda hilarious that after years of struggling to get over as a face who was wildly cheered on a consistent basis, it took a massive heel run for Roman Reigns to finally totally get over and now become the massive babyface that the old boss always wanted. Also, the babyface Bloodline is going to be awesome.

It also took Roman trying to retire because said boss didn’t take the pandemic seriously. So to keep him he gave Roman whatever he wanted and then some. 2nd shield member who was able to take advantage of Bince outside of Mox when he was leaving.
Punk going to Arn like that is a total show of respect for a highly respected veteran of the business. Always great to see.
Speaking of NJPW tournaments, I believe it’s almost time for World Tag League![]()
WWE announced tonight that they’ll debut that weeks SDLWord internally is that Motor City Machine Guns’ travel has been set for the October 25 WWE Smackdown in Brooklyn.

Absolutely terrible
No other person to send him out though. Mox and Danielson have been good friends for yrs. I remember after Danielson came back from his concussions a lot of their friends were saying, when Danielson fully retires it has to be Jon. It’s feel wrong any other way. Glad Bryan got to wrestle again. Truly you can tell he loves it. But right now his health and being a husband to Brie and father to his two kids and physically able to do all of that is the most important thing right. We’ll always cherish the memories he gave us through his career.Jon Moxley is your new AEW world Champion. The American Dragons full time in ring career is over. He will now probably have surgery on his neck within a few weeks.
Never thought after he first retired we’d see the dragon enter the ring ever again. But he did Full time.

ROH and Nigel rivalry,
Yes movement and winning the title at Mania
AEW dream matches and winning a title again
And everything in between.
Truly one of the best Technical wrestlers of this era.
