It's time for the Cinderella season to conclude.

Bad news Saints fans, there's guaranteed snow coming down tomorrow.

It's early morning, the snow comes out. The Saints are shaking 'cause Bears fans are awfully loud.

buh bye Saints, start planning for that 29th or 30th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Everything favors the Bears in this...they have the weather they want, the home field advantage, #1 seed, playing a Dome team, and they get to play the dis-respect card even though they are the Vegas favorites. No excuses.

They'll get a lot louder if Rex throws an early INT.LAUNCH

Think about that tonight. Sweet dreams.

 On this board, the Saints are favored almost 2-1, and most talking heads in the media are also picking the Saints. The Vegas line is -2.5 for the Bears, when the home team normally gets 3 points for playing at home, the line is actually pro-Saints. So take your "The Bears are favored " line somewhere else. They have been disrespected in almost every media outlet there is, and all over this board.

Go Bears!!!

Just want to get my prediction in now, so I can be mocked properly if I'm way off. Actually, I wouldn't mind being way off...but this is how I see it:

Bears 27, Saints 0.

Bears D is due for a big game, the Saints are due for a letdown away from home, and a 10-0 close game can be broken open pretty easily. I would say Chicago would win anyway in nice weather, but they'll dominate in the snow.

:goodposting: :drive: :loco:

Although I doubt they really care about what's happening on the board.

Hmm...
Since the Super Bowl season of 1985, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, the team’s postseason record in “Bear Weather” – games in which the temperature at kickoff was below 40 degrees – is 2-6. Five of the six defeats were in Chicago.

Their regular-season record in recent “Bear Weather” games is mixed: In a turnover-plagued game against Minnesota on Dec. 3, the Bears survived two lost fumbles and three Rex Grossman interceptions in a 23-13 victory. But in 2005, the Steelers bullied them amid blizzard conditions in Pittsburgh.

Watching the snow fall right now. While I think the snow may be a slight advantage for the Bears, by no means is it the reason the Bears will win today, though football games in the snow is the way the game should be played.Bears 31

Saints 24

GOBEARS !!!!!!!

Nice edit.I haven't talked to any Bear fans that think we need the snow to win, the Bears will beat the Saints no matter the weather, the snow just adds to the fun.

I'm only a few miles from Chicago, so I don't know if there is more lake effect snow there; but it is lightly snowing right now. Small wet flurries and prediction is for continuation of the same into kickoff. I went out this morning and thought "what an OUTSTANDING day for football".

:football:

You Saints fans just don't get it!

When you arive, like the Bears fans did so many years ago, you will start to understand how football works....Defense wins championships.

"We got Bress and you got Grossman" BIG deal!

Bears have Urlacher, Saints got ?

BTW Saints fans...I am not a Bear fan...just a Bear respecter.

I just don't think this is the same D that looked so good in the first six weeks of the season. Recently, they've given up 27 to the Rams, 31 to that offensive powerhouse Tampa, 21 to the Lions, 26 to Green Bay, and 24 to Seattle. Look, I think they are still a very good unit, but the vaunted Bear D hasn't exactly been dominant in the recent past.

While it is true, the Bears defense is not as strong as it was earlier, due to losing 2 major players in Brown and Harris, the Bears Defense is still better than the Saints defense.

There better not be a whining Bears fan in the entirety of this thread, because they got everything they wanted to tilt this game in their favor.

I know, I know, and I'm prepared for all the  smilies you can muster, but...

I'm very interested in seeing who the ref crew is for this game. If it's Ed Hochuli's crew, you may as well turn off the TV because it'll be a Bears victory. I don't know if that guy is from Chicago, or if his dad was George Halas, or if he was raised in the woods by bears but he is so "pro-Bear" it's almost comical. Please, please let him be doing the Indy/Pats game.

ANY - repeat - ANY other ref crew I will have zero problems with, and I will not voice a single complaint against. I don't care if the head ref is Steve McMichael and the back judge is Tom Thayer. ANYBODY but Hochuli will call this game square.

I just heard McCauley (edit: actually spelled McAuley) is calling this game. NO excuses from a ref standpoint. That guy is the best. I have ZERO problem with who they have calling this game.Edit: Just a warning, that guy calls a TON of penalties so expect a slow moving game.

The team that's in trouble today from a ref standpoint are the Colts. Bill Carollo is reffing that game and he NEVER calls defensive pass interference/defensive holding. Colts WR's will get roughed up all day.

Not to hijack, but I would love the complete scouting report on all NFL officials. GEAUX!! Run Reggie Run!!

You are arguably the biggest Bears fan in FBG world. Are you actually going to do something for the game other than type on an Internet chat board like you did last week? Like maybe get together with the boys, order some pizzas and knock a few back? Or I got a crazy idea. Go to the game!

I got the ref information for todays games HereThe Bears are 2-0 in games McAuley has reffed in this year, but he's as clean as they come. I have ZERO complaint with that ref choice. This game will be won by the better team, so good luck to both sides.

Apparently, this is the norm for Bears fans. Almost 6700 no shows at last weeks game.

I don't like the Bears but I've always respected the fanbase for the most part. This is awful. Puts them into Raiders territory.

Wow... thanks for all the concern about what I'll be doing for the game guys. (aka stalkers) I'll be watching the game from the comfy confines of my bud's house. Rather than go to the game, I'd rather enjoy it amongst the company of family and friends.

Plus the one game I went to this year (against Miami) they lost. Not that I'm supersticious (sp?) or anything.

Weather update:

Regarding the weather, at Soldier Field there is approximately an inch and a half of sleet/snow. Winds around gametime will be 10MPH, and during the game they expect more freezing rain/light snow. But not that much more. If anything, the winds will die down as the game wears on.

But... then again, when are weather men ever right?

Poetry...pure poetry

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.

Make every play clear the way to victory!

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.

Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation,

With your T formation.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.

And let them know why you're wearing the crown.

You're the pride and joy,

of all Illinois.

Chicago Bears, Bear Down!

One guy will be making the game.

Well, I will be going to a bar to watch the games with friends, I'll be back later to gloat or eat crow. I just wanted this on the record so when the inevitable post comes up about where are the Bear fans.

Go Bears!!! The only people seriously talking about the weather factor is Saints fans, Bear fans know they will win, no matter what the weather is, talking about the weather just gets the saints fans panties in a wad.

I live a couple miles from the stadium. Weather right now is fine. About a half inch of accumulation on the ground, if that. No wind. About thirty degrees. The snow seems to be hopping over downtown for the most part.

I'm north of downtown, by montrose ave. there is a light, steady snow falling right now. Hopefully it snow all during the game, it just makes the game more fun to watch.

I'm in a really tough spot here.

On one hand, I think that Chicago is going to win rather easily, and I want to place many of my hard-earned shekels on them. On the other hand, I find MOST of the Bears fans on this board to be incredibly obnoxious, and I would hate to see them win and have to endure two more weeks of the "WE" are the best! crowing.

What to do...... Okay, I've got it! I'll roll with the Bears today, then find a way to get myself a 2-week timeout, then watch the Fuzzy Cubbies get slaughtered by the AFC entry in the Bowl. :goodposting:

I'm near North & Clark. Just went outside and a very light, steady sleet-snow mix has started up.
