Official prediction: Liverpool 2, Arsenal 0Arsenal goes into panic mode, sells Nasri. Fans revolt, team goes in the tank and finishes 5th.
That same scenario could play out even if the Arsenal wins tomorrow
Follow that up with Wenger quits, Arsenal begins a string of mediocre, non-Champions League seasons, then a massive worldwide financial collapse cripples the United's, City's, and Chelsea's of the world, leading to an Arsenal renaissance in which they win the league 8 times and Champions League 5 times over the course of a decade. :grad:

I'm just dumbfounded Drogba still starts on the bench.
I don't remember seeing Drogba and Torres together last season. Is it that their skillsets are that incompatible, or that they don't fit into Chelsea's favored 4-3-3 (or 4-1-2-2-1)? If it's the latter, you'd think Villas Boas would be flexible enough tactically to get his best squad on the field at the same time.

Arshavin comes alive. Gets a brace and an assist. The Liverpool hype gets squashed. 3-0 Arsenal.

Gooooooolllllll!!!! FC has updated their "on the block" page

Offered: Arshavin

Looking for: Ham Sandwich. Ham portion of the deal negotiable

Regardless of the results, I'm pretty encouraged with West Brom's performance today. Tchoyi and Long worked up quite a partnership and ate up the Chelsea defense at times. And that was without Odemwingie on the field. Morrison was all over that wing, too.

A little bit of unlucky defending on the first goal, and just a lapse on the second. 0 points from 2 games, but 2 good performances against the league's finest. I think they'll be fine this year.

U-20 final pretty exciting so far. 1-1 at the half. Both goals came in the first 9 minutes.

Brazil seems like the better attacking team, but i don't see any big time stars out there. (I'm guessing that's because most 19 year old kids that would really stand out here are already fixtures on their club teams or are already getting time with the senior national team) I actually think their CB Juan Jesus is their best player. Looks like a young Lucio. One of the kids on their bench is a dead ringer for Kaka.

Tor tor tor fur Bayern Munchen! Nice header from Van Buyten on a Robben free kick. This should be more fun than the Arsenal game.
Man I love watching Robben play.Hamburg looks absolutely helpless.
Newbie question: Is this game suppose to be this one sided?
 Nice to see others watching. Bayern started a really strong lineup and Hamburg is very down right now. But, I'll gladly take the 5-0 win no matter who they play.

LA won 2-0 on Keanes debut tonight

Keane went 70+ minutes and was active through out but his touch was a bit off. Did keep his head though and was able to tuck in the first LA goal off a great feed from Becks.

thoughts on the pk called against the union by non-union soccer fans?
I don't know what the letter of the law is in that case but there was no intent by the Union defender. The ball seemed to be driven into his chest where his arm was. It did hit his arm but even if his arm was cut off it still hits his chest so there was no advantage gained IMO.

I'm just dumbfounded Drogba still starts on the bench.
Why?
Even at 33, hes better than Torres
CLEARLY he's not, he's no where near the player he used to be.
IMO, Torres still looks lost out there. He'll make a decent little move or 2, but never finishes the play (either by scoring or making an incisive final pass). They always look better when Drogba plays. We'll see how Torres develops as the season go on, but I've never seen them play better with Torres as opposed to Drogba.

I agree Torres is nowhere near the player he used to be. Drogba, on the other hand, is still a beast and has the ability to change a game.
I'm dumbfounded as to what games you've been watching. Crazy americans, stick to what you know :P

I dig City's Red and Black jerseys much more than the light blue colors they usually wear. I wonder if the Sheik agrees? Any chance they change colors permanently?

Lucky goal for Silva due to mistake by Bolton goalie. 1-0 City.

I know its just Bolton, and I know they just gave a goal back, but City are going to be damn good. Tons of size and speed and everyone can pass.

They could absolutely win the league.

:lmao: at Micah Richards' face as the Barry shot zoomed past his head.

How about we just look at every Chelsea game since Torres came over from Liverpool?Torres - 20 appearances, 13 starts, shots on goal 13, 1 goal & 1 assist.Drogba - 20 appearances, 12 starts, shots on goal 20, 3 goals & 6 assists. So Torres has logged more starts and minutes than Drogba since coming to Chelsea but Drogba leads Torres in every statistic relevant to a striker by a wide margin.

Everyone knows Torres has had problems, he looks like he's finally returning to form. What if we look at just this last game? Drogba was painful to watch.
Who took the corner for the Barry goal? Was it Silva?(yes, fantasy question :) )
Not sure, my guess would be Milner.

:lmao: Sure, let's look at one game where he came off the bench. And just happened to have the same exact impact as Torres :thumbupEDIT: I'm sorry, Drogba actually took two shots.

Eto'o signed his deal with Anzi this weekend and is now one of the highest paid athletes in the world, and the top earning soccer player. Anzi is going to pay him $29M per YEAR. Thats more than $12M more per year than Ronaldo makes at Real.

Just crazy. For that kind of money, were going to see a lot more players moving to Russia. And next time it wont be 30+ years old strikers, but younger prospects from South America and players in their prime from the English, Spanish and Italian leagues.

And thats where he'll stay unless there's some dramatic improvement. Torres has looked good in these first couple of games, Drogba has looked like a sack of potatoes except with worse timing. Looks like he has definitely lost a step to me. But to each their own.

To put the 29 million in perspective, it would have been bigger than the combined salary cap of the entire MLS a few years back. It is beyond insane.

How long does City have Milan's jerseys on loan?
Red/black stripes has been MCFC's traditional change strip. It's what they wore to win the 1969 FA Cup--their most recent trophy before last year
I did not know that. When was the last time they sported them?

How much is Mata going to play for Chelsea? How much will his presence...

(wait for it)

...Mata?

Har. I imagine quite a bit. Especially if they throw in Kalou and Super Jew in the bid for Modric. Either way, enough to add to me and boub's ###### fantasy roster.
