I'm not saying that Spurs shirts are over-priced - but I just ordered an away shirt yesterday, and today Spurs, uncharacteristically spent nearly £120M on two players.

Coincidence? I think not.

Beautiful day today. Perfect summer weather, probably high 80s on most of your guy's scale, 3-0 win for the hosts (Kendal Town, up in the Lake District), trains both to and from the game delayed over an hour so they will eventually work out free, and I exchanged missing the second goal of the game for a good sprint finish in Le Tour.

Still undecided on next Saturday. Will need to research this week

Not sure if you all have heard of this Messi kid playing for Inter Miami... Broke the MLS record for consecutive multi-goal games with 4 last week. extended it to 5 yesterday with a brace...and has scored in 6 straight. Tied for 1st in MLS with 16 goals. His own record is 6 multigoal games in 2012 with Barca

Is he eligible for a green card? Might be a good backup for Luna.

EPL season may actually have some intrigue this year at the top.

Liverpool should be a favorite
Arsenal bringing in players and once Gyokeres is finalized may actually have a scorer and compete.
City should be back and Chelsea looking good. Just wondering how the CWC and the extended season will affect their starts.
Newcastle making some decent moves to get back up the table.
Not sure if Forest and Villa can maintain their form.
United lose Onana for probably the start of the season, which should immediately move them up the table.

So my autistic 8-year-old has really gotten into soccer in the last two or three months. He watches tons of soccer YouTube videos. And he told me a few weeks ago that he wanted the team he played on to try to play without a goalkeeper. And I said, "I think most teams would do better with a goalie, champ." And he said, "You're right. It's much easier to win with a goalkeeper. Unless its Onana." And I laughed for a solid five minutes.

At first I thought this was a joke but after reading more, he is actually serious. The strange part of this stuff is Trump’s demo has historically not liked soccer. I wonder if his admiration for the sport will change a few of their minds (I kind of doubt it but who knows)

President Trump could sign an executive order to rename soccer to football in the US

I am usually in favor of rule changes but I don't see these improving the sport much at all, and the 3rd one will continue to lower the bar on whether any one should bother celebrating a goal any more.

They are trying to push these through before the WC next summer.

================================

1... Is that saying there will he no rebounds allowed on a saved PK during normal play? That if a PK is saved in any way, the play is dead? If so...horrible.

2. I dint mind cards being reviewed...just dont stop play to do it.

3. God no.

on 1, yes, from my understanding they want the play blown dead, so that it matches what happens in a shoot out but it makes no sense to do that during game play IMO.

I don't even understand of all the problems in the sport, how #1 even made it past the brain storm stage, much less being put to a formal vote.

1 is ridiculous. No reason for that to change.

2 I get, trying to eliminate reds to balance out the checking for straight reds (hahaha)

3 Incorrectly given corners or fouls always suck because you know its going to end up in a goal (don't show me stats, its a well known perceived fact and I'll die on that hill). Not sure that means it should be reviewed. Does it only get reviewed if it is a goal? Another reason to chalk off goals?

People might forget that Barron Trump was in DC United’s academy as a lumbering target striker.

MLS All Star weekend is coming up. Off the field is far more interesting than on the field.

All the owners will be in attendance. It is expected that a formal vote as to whether they will change the calendar from spring/fall to fall/spring will occur over the weekend.

I personally see far more down side than upside if they change the calendar. I hope they have done the due-diligence here. They have already become a non entity on TV for most people due to the Apple deal and if this calendar change hurts the in game attendance, that would be a horrible combination.

How do you see in game attendance being hurt?

Mostly weather issues. Fans will brave ridiculous weather conditions for the NFL but I have a hard time believing they would do the same for MLS games. Supposedly the league has worked out ways to minimize this issue.

oh yeah, the heat is no joke, I agree. But the only difference is that I think more people are more likely to "travel" to the games in the brutal heat than they are to drive through snow and ice.

LAFC have approached Heung-min Son over potential transfer for this summer as their new superstar.

Talks at early stages, as @PaulTenorio reports — as LAFC want to try but Son and Spurs will have the final say.
I'm convinced that Giroud didn't work out in LA because he thought he'd come in and get invited to A-list parties with Brad Pitt or something and that just didn't happen. Sonny might be a more realistic fit.
