Anyone else hear Cantor while reading that?Yet another giant Sunday in the EPL. Tomorrow should be fun.

8M what? Dollars? Euros? Supposedly the loan to AC Milan would require him to take a 50% paycut. If the MLS is willing to eat his entire 10.5M euro salary, I'd have to think that he might force a transfer there. Also, he's only played in 6 competitions all season due to injury/Mou. Its hard to think Kaka is worth a transfer fee that large when Sneijder only commanded 7.5M euro and his salary is only around 7M euro per year and he's younger.

I did, but I also envisioned him saying the Galaxy made the bid for Kaka but Madrid said, "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"I need help.

***OFFICIAL*** STURRIDGE GOALS TRACKER

Countdown to Eight Premier League Goals and Free Beer From Sebowski

Goal #1 v. United

BONUS

Goal #2 v. Norwich

Bonus dance gif
A well placed post would have scored those goals.
One of the biggest factors in being a successful striker is having a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
I know. It was a bit tongue in cheek. I think I set a fair line. He's started hot. Lots to play. You can tell he isn;t used to scoring by his dance moves. It will be interesting o see if those improve.

Some thoughts on recent rumors/news1) I very much believe LA made a serious bid for Kaka, but I am having a hard time buying they made even an $8M bid, much less an 8M Euro bid. In either case I am quite sure they were not even close to RM asking price since his name has dropped entirely from LA's conversation about their next DP.2) Normally I hate the mid 30's signings as I prefer to see MLS get their bigger name DP players in their early 30's like they did with Becks, Henry and Keane. That being said, it is very hard to be unhappy about the Lampard news if it is true. The guy is still playing at an extremely high level and to get him on a free (compared to what they might have had to pay for Kaka), is certainly good business. Should Landon ride off into the sunset, they could try again with his slot for a latin base player that they so highly covet (they made very serious bid recently for Giovanni Dos Santos, but they could not close the deal).3) If you told me 24 months ago that Dallas sold Brek Shea for 3.5M, I would have been extremely disappointed as I honestly felt he had the potential to be a legit $10M transfer. If you said that same thing to me 8 months ago, I would have been surprised that someone would even offer that much, considering his combination of injuries, attitude issues and over all bad play. In the end, hopefully a change of scenery will do him good and hopefully Stoke can stay up for next season where Shea can have chance to crack lineup. I think it is going to be hard for him to get decent minutes this year as he is still injured right now but Stoke must see something worth while else this transfer could have waited until the summer.Anyone know if Shea will have work permit type issues?

Newcastle is starting to dangerously challenge for relegation this year.Out of the last possible 39 points, Newcastle has only picked up a woeful 7. The 3 points they dropped today at home to Reading puts Newcastle right in the thick of the relegation race.Newcastle are on 21 points with 3 of the 4 teams right behind them on 19, and one of them has a game in hand.

African Cup of Nations Day 1 Report. Two games, no goals. One point against the hosts was a good result for Cape Verde.I caught the second half of Angola-Morocco. Ragged, entertaining, lots of chances w/ poor finishing. It was like watching 22 Gervinhos.Group B games tomorrow. Ghana-Congo and Mali-Niger.

I think I'm just going to have to accept the fact that QPR isn't going to survive. :wall:
:hug:I'm still surprised how badly they're doing. I genuinely thought they made some great off-season moves; for a low/mid- tier club, I liked all the players they brought in relative to their peers. But wow... those same guys just haven't been getting it done.

They're only four points adrift and haven't lost yet in 2013. QPR's current form is much better than some of their fellow strugglers. Fernandes seems willing to keep the account open for Harry. And Redknapp knows how to overspend for short term success. I wouldn't count them out.

Good point and qualification... but they need to start winning some games.

I know. But they're 6 points from safety with 3 teams in between. That means they need 2 more wins than all three of those teams with only 15 remaining. Not impossible. But it would be Harry's greatest masterpiece if he pulls it off.

:lmao: :lmao: an epic match of guys frantically dribbling the ball directly into their opponents for 90 minutes.

Blah first half for Arsenal. I'm sure Wenger will complain about the officiating (does he do anything else these days?) and he's got a rightful claim, but both questionable calls that led to goals could've been negated with just some better play. If Sagna doesn't get caught out against Mata and Diaby doesn't give the ball away at midfield, neither of those goals happen. Giroud needs to finish that early chance...announcers are right that it was a matter of poise - Giroud was unable to put his chance and target, and Mata buried his difficult chance just a minute later.Sagna and Gibbs have each been caught out of position a number of times today. Diaby's touch has been really heavy. Second half has started decently though, but they need to get one soon for the momentum. They really look like they're missing Podolski. If it's 2-0 in the ~75th, it's over.

Arsenal have one back. Game on!

A very nice start to the second half of the season for Bayern. Two goals from Mandzukic for a 2-0 win over Fürth.Bayern are now 14-3-1 with 46 goals scored and 7 against. That's 12 clean sheets for Neuer in 18 BL matches.

Without having given it a second or even more careful look, that first half was a matter of tactics more than anything else. The Arsenal shape Wenger put out there was just getting dismantled; the Chelsea MF had soooo much space and time- looked kind of like a 3v1 drill most of the time. Other than against Barcelona, I don't remember the Gunners ever being so outplayed in the MF. I don't recall when Ramsey came in, but halftime and his inclusion tightened things up a huge amount for Arsenal's MF.And yeah- too bad about those two calls. The non-foul that led to the first goal... meh- I can see how the ref might miss that. The PK looked to me like Ramires lost his balance and threw his foot into the GK (away from the direction he was moving) and then went down. Full-speed, first glance seemed obviously a PK- slowed down, obviously not.

Woke up today to a "Sneijder's agent flying in for talks with LFC" tweet, which by lunch has become "Sneijder working on payout from Inter. Could sign for Galatasaray tonight." Never got my hopes up for that one, but would have been nice. If they could still end up with Coutinho, I'd be happy.

If United had been offered a 1-1 draw before the game, they would have accepted it, so it's a good result leaving them still five points ahead of City and most of their toughest away games behind them. The draw was the very least Spurs deserved after that second half.

Ramsey came in during the second half after Coquelin couldn't continue. I'm not sure why Coquelin has been playing so much lately, especially against a top team like Chelsea. Diaby was pretty poor today, too. Tough to win the CM with a performance like that.
