ZMachine, no worries, it looks like I can order online so I'll go that route. Thanks for the offer to help out. Never heard of them before this, I'm sure my kids will love these - I force them to watch EPL games all week long
Z-Machine....your inbox was full, so I'll post here my message:"Hey Z-Machine - I had mentioned that I was able to order these stickers online a few posts after you had said you were going to get some. But, I really don't want to stick you with these at all, so if you can't find any other takers before Thursday, just let me know and I'll buy them from you. I do appreciate the efforts made by you (well, actually your significant other) to get these.Just let me know how you would like payment and I'll send it to you if no one else wants them. thanks again."So if anyone else wants these WC stickers, please pipe up, otherwise I'll arrange payment with Senor Zed.

Robinho yes, but Ronaldinho no? Oh Dungha. :lmao:

Suprised about Totti- such a magician and talisman for Italy. I'd rather have him come off the bench if I need a goal created than any other player on that roster. He's a #### though.

Sad news- Zola gets canned at West Ham. I'm sure he'll end up on his feet somewhere, but I'm still such a fan of him as a player that I just want him to do well as a coach.

USA! USA! USA! USA! :lmao:

Goalkeepers- Tim Howard, Marcus Hahnemann, Brad Guzan

Defenders- Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Steve Cherundolo, Jonathan Spector, Jay DeMerit, Clarence Goodson, Jonathan Bornstein, Heath Pearce, Chad Marshall

Midfielders- Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Stuart Holden, Ricardo Clark, Maurice Edu, Benny Feilhaber, Jose Francisco Torres, Alejandro Bedoya, DaMarcus Beasley, Sacha Kljestan, Robbie Rogers

Forwards- Jozy Altidore, Conor Casey, Brian Ching, Edson Buddle, Eddie Johnson, Herculez Gomez

eta: no Davies :goodposting: and no Adu :lmao: but yes DMB? wtf.

I'm not all that surprised about Totti not making this side. One interesting tidbit about the Italian side is the entire team is composed of players from Serie A, but only a single player selected was from one of the top two sides. Fairly underwhelming side on paper, but they'll still be a tough out, imho.

On the Brazil side, injuries and form not withstanding, they have left off the likes of Ronaldinho, Diego, Pato, Hulk.....pretty sure a few other countries could find a spot for these guys.

It may be mentioned up thread, but who got relegated/promoted in EPL? I saw that Chelsea won the league by a point over ManU but the news story didn't show who got sent down or up a level.

Burnley, Hull & Pompey down. Newcastle and West Brom up. There's a playoff for the third spot.

Could be the first relegation in a series for Pompey. They had a nice run at the top but it's hard to imagine a more disheartening end to it (unless you consider what happened to Wimbledon)I would love to see them pull off the upset on Saturday

It's a good thing we wasted all that air hoping that FIFA would declare Castillo and Jones eligible for the USMNT.

Leeds, too.

Not even gonna give Davies a chance? He must just not be anywhere close. Eddie Johnson is a total bum.

Damn shame that Jermaine Jones didn't get healthy. But i do like Edu and think he'll do well.

Good for Buddle and Gomez (and even Eddie to a degree) for having their good form being rewarded, but man, that list of forwards is....uninspiring. Davies wasn't the best player on the roster, but he was possibly the most irreplaceable. It's really going to hurt to not have him.

Something very weird is going on. The list above has Casey ( ) in the squad and not Findley; the roster in the other thread has Findley ( ) and not Casey. Which is right????

True, but everybody hates Leeds

Oops... i must have missed your post guru.

So... any takers on these stickers and album?

It's $65 shipped for 125 packs of 5 stickers and an album to stick them in. Plus the opportunity to trade your doubles with some awesome FBG fútbolchicos.

I hoped to never see EJ near the field for us in a national game again. Hopefully Buddle is the real deal. Missing Davies is huge.
I totally agree.EJ may become a good player (doubtful) but his performances thus far have been very poor to atrocious.I would also request not to have DMB on the field at all in SA. I think it would be better for everyone's morale (players and fans) this way.

It's Milton Keynes Dons, guy...

Maybe DMB will have a flashback of 2002 against Portugal and play his balls off....

I wonder if EJ's learned how to move without the ball in Greece? I still think that's the perfect of the US youth system's failure to develop our players - EJ is, quite simply, absolutely clueless when he doesn't have the ball.

Is the Champions League Final really on the 22nd? Why do they wait so long between semi's and finals???
Serie A and La Liga don't finish until this weekend. The FA Cup is also this weekend. It gives them five days to rest. It also makes it the last official club game in Europe I think.

Champions League moves slowly all year to keep from hindering teams in domestic competition. The group stage started in September I think. In a way it's kind of cool because once the World Cup ends it won't be long before they're playing CL qualifiers for next year.

AFC Wimbledon finished 8th in their first year in the Conference. They're only two levels below Franchise FC now, down from the original seven when the MK move happened . A competitive match this decade is within the realm of possibility.

Meh. Wake me when FC United of Manchester is playing ManU.

I'm following Forest and hoping they get to the big leagues. When I was going to school in England back in the late 80's, the closest "big" city was Nottingham and I had the chance to see Forest play a couple times. That started the love affair.....Unfortunately they lost to Blackpool today and are no longer in the playoff for a chance at the Premier League. Sucks.

Man, you missed the glory days. In a three year stretch, 1 First Division championship, 2 European Cups, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 2 League Cups. Peter Shilton, Trevor Francis, John Robertson, Archie Gemmill. Those were some great teams.

AgreedCombine that with their difficulty in qualifying and Maradona being a brutal coach, II think Argentina will have a bad WC

Completely  Last time I saw him play in person was... mebbe vs Argentina? I just remember watching him off the ball- I'd keep wondering... ok, NOW he's going to make that totally ####### obvious diagonal or checking run to receive the ball after one of the outside backs or MFs would get possession. Ok... NOW he's going to make that run. Now? WTF? Every run I saw him make was after the ball was played.

Last time I saw him play on TV, he actually looked kinda ok for Fulham at the beginning of this season before getting shipped out to Greece. Didn't #### things up, and looked quick and strong with ok touch and vision. But TV is impossible to tell what kind of runs he is or isn't making.

thought cambiasso was a shoo-in. has he had a bad season or something?
It's Maradona. He used 100 different players in qualifying. I expected a few head-scratchers and aside from Messi I don't think there were any shoo-ins.
Only thing I can think is that they both play exactly the same position, and it's not a position that can flex around the field/ lacks versatility. Dunno. That's all I've got.

Heres a great article on the strange Argentina selections:Maradona does the impossible and picks a worse squad than Brazil, Italy and France

The omission of Zanetti and Cambiasso is a "crime against football", argues Carlo Garganese...
