Wow, Charles Renken in the mix for the U-23s? Should be interesting to see if he makes any impact.
This camp is really a mix of U20's and U23's. Renken is more in the mix for the U20's right now as I believe he is only 17.

Petr Cech has a clash of heads with Ashley Cole and looks like he's picked up a head injury. Might just be a broken nose. Hope it's not like a concussion or something.

Was Cech was wearing his mini helmet thing?
Yes, but the replays showed he was hit more in the face. Yakubu made a run to ~the edge of the six and the ball was played on the ground. Cole was defending Yakubu and they both slid for the ball as Cech came out to challenge. The three of them got in a tangle and Cole/Cech had a head-to-head collision.Cech was bleeding pretty profusely from his nose and they delayed the game for awhile, but he kept playing after they patched him up. The first half had 7 minutes of stoppage time.

Don't look now, but after this morning's results, Arsenal have pulled into a 3-way tie for 5th (full disclosure: Spurs have 2 games-in-hand) with Spurs and Liverpool, just 3 points out of 4th. Winning the title is almost certainly out of the question, but I'm just extremely impressed with how they've responded after those early-season woes.

Shocker....Johnny Evans doesn't play, United keeps a clean sheet.

Outside of that, they looked very bad. The best part about watching Man U is seeing Rooney's reaction every time Nani does anything other than score a goal or pass the ball to him. If I was Nani, I'd just be like "DUDE, SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!" or whatever that is in Portuguese.

QPR is all over Man City at the moment. Helguson narrowly offside on what should've made it 2-0, and Bothroyd just hit the post. This could be 3-0 by now.

So that NY v Gals game...

Full credit to the Gals for winning- they deserved it. Keane, Becks and Burchall were all over the field defensively winning every second ball and harrassing StarBulls players into mistakes. Becks and Burchall in particular looked great all night.

Credit too to NY for putting up a fight... until what looked like somebody getting bought for throwing the game in that Miller "tackle" on Becks finished the game with the PK. WTF?

Hopefully Marquez and Rost are gone next year and hopefully Agudelo gets more and meaningful minutes so that he can progress. btw- I think Agudelo showed what I was talking about in his 30 minutes the other night... just couldn't get involved and didn't open up, create for or combine with any of his team-mates. At least Backe got him those minutes- but too little too late for the season.

The Tottenham central midfield is having a really bad day. They are making some awful passes. I imagine if Harry was on the sideline there would have already been some changes. Credit to Fulham for pressing hard all game, but some of these mistakes are rather inexplicable.

Edit: VdV off for Defoe. He had a poor game and with Fulham wearing down from the constant pressing Defoe should get some good space.

This is really turning into a great game. Fulham is all over them....Spurs on the back foot.

Oh my, that was a certain penalty on Parker.

Modric again. Man, he is having a terrible game.

Edit: On replay the ref is looking right at that penalty. Sometimes I just don't know what goes through their minds. I understand not being in position, but he's right there and it's as clear as day.

The ref repays by completely missing a Walker hand ball.

Friedel playing out of his mind.

Oh my god. Dempsey denied by Friedel on the doorstep, clear handball on Spurs goes uncalled, and Fulham misses like 4 rebounds in a mad scramble in front of the net.

Friedel with ANOTHER massive save off the corner, and Dempsey's rebound saved by Modric on the post.

Wow.

I agree that the no calls do essentially cancel themselves out, though they should've both been penalties. Adebayor with a great ball to Defoe to make it 3-1. Game over.

Houston is such a nondescript team, and yet they keep moving on.

The entire eastern conference as a whole was much weaker than the west so I guess it is not surprising an average team came out of the east but I can't see Houston beating either LA or RSL.

That being said, Geoff Cameron again had a very solid game for Houston. Their record since he moved to center back has been excellent.

KC and Philly were both a bit young and KC missing a healthy experienced Bravo really showed in this game. Both KC and Philly though should easily contend again next year in the East.

For Houston, it obviously can't hurt going to the final the year before opening a brand new stadium for the off field business stuff.

Looking forward to the Western Conference final in a few minutes. Will be interesting to see if LA chokes at home again like they did last year when they laid an egg in the conference final letting Dallas win 3-0 in the HDC

The DP curse still has a chance to strike again.

For those that don't know, a team that has at least one DP on their roster has never won the MLS Cup.

Houston does not have a DP and will be playing against LA with their 3.

If Landon and Keane stay healthy on international duty, they should be able to break the curse.

Barca sucks.
They're just trying to keep it interesting this season. Also, Mou has Real firing on all cylinders right now.
To be fair, the soggy field took away a lot of what makes Barca so good. But I suppose that's part of the game.RM looks unstoppable right now. Objectively speaking, I think they'd be a favorite (albeit not a big one) over FCB in a home-and-home right now.

ok i'm officially a tottenham fan. i've been trying to decide on a team to root for and i just can't get away from them. every game i watch them play is super exciting (sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always exciting). that game today was crazy!
