I remember reading Anzhi was also interested and would've been able to meet Arsenal's transfer fee demands, but Arshavin is a legend at Zenit and was pretty adamant about going back there.Arsenal probably would've got more $$ from Anzhi, but I guess this is preferrable to him wasting away on the bench.

(AP) -- Former German national team captain Michael Ballack is joining ESPN as a studio analyst for this year's European Championship.The network said Friday that Ballack will work alongside ESPN regulars Steve McManaman and Alexi Lalas on pregame, halftime and postgame shows.The 35-year-old Ballack plays midfield for Bayer Leverkusen. He is a veteran of two World Cups and three European Championships. He had 42 goals in 98 appearances for Germany from 1999 to 2010.

I'm going to the UK for a week (3/31 - 4/8) and would love to attend a Premier League match. I'll be staying about 45 minutes NW of London (Near High Wycombe). All the research I've done looks tough to buy tickets if you haven't done so before or are not a member of the club. Are there Stub Hub type sites that resell tickets? My best options are traveling to see the West Brom v Rovers or Chelsea v Wigan at Stanford Bridge.

Has anyone from the US tried to see a match in this manner before? Any advice is much appreciated.

Sadly I won't be making it until next weekend's matches.

Keep your eye on DC. They are my dark horse team this year. Pontius was a pubic hair away from making the leap from good MLS player to great when he got hurt. With DeRo happily signed, a healthy Pontius (hopefully), two DP's in Salahi and Brankovic and three of the better young players in the league in Najar, Hamid and Kitchen, they are going to have a lot of fire power this year. Very exciting team to watch.

Just a follow up as his good preseason play continues. He had two more goals tonight in the Revs 2-0 win over NY. As it is just preseason, it is hard to get too excited but he is certainly starting on the right foot.

We might see some changes in the rosterTorres injured his leg last night against PachucaJones missed his Europa game with an unknown injuryI don't know how bad Torres is though as he played the whole game but he got hurt after his team ran out of subs.
 
Arsenal's pressing has been magnificent. This looks like an excellent template for how to beat Spurs. Don't give them time on the ball in midfield.

 
I know he conceded a goal (great finish by the way) but it looks like the light may be coming on for De Gea. Some fantastic reaction saves and he looks much more confident taking charge on crosses.

I watched a lot of games with him at Atlético (well one and a half seasons worth anyway), and his reactions and athleticism are some of the best out there. Like I said when he got sold, he's got the physical skills, and it's yet to be seen if he has the mental fortitude to make it for a big name club like ManU.
 
Definitely DeGea's best game in awhile - although the dude still has issues. Hit a goal kick about straight off the pitch...but he was much more confident with his blocks and going after the ball. Norwich is a tough team on set pieces (they have the most goals in the premier league on headers) and they tried stuffing/pushing DeGea around.

Holt's goal was a beauty no way you can fault DeGea there.

You know who had a terrible game. Danny effing Welbeck. Just awful.

At least Welbeck got in some spots. Hernandez was invisible.

That's the most frustrating thing about inconsistent players. You always think they are just about to turn the corner.
 
I get that everyone does it, but the way carragher grabbed and fell on the ball to delay the free kick was totally bush league

Seems like once he stopped hearing Lindegaard's footsteps, he relaxed. Hopefully his confidence stays up once the competition comes back.
 
Good thing I DVR'd that Arsenal game....no way I was getting up at 8:30 on my only day off. Can't wait to watch it tonight.

Exciting second half and now extra time here between Cardiff and Liverpool....Kenny Miller is going to have nightmares about that gift volley he smashed over the bar in the 88th if Cardiff lose.

Three complete misses? That's awful. How do you work so hard to get to this point and then fail to even work the goalkeeper?
