Of the 40 teams still alive in this round of African qualifying, only two teams won both of the games played so far, Egypt and Tunisia.

African qualifying is now done all the way until late next March. This is a very long break between games.

Are they going to replay the US-Guat match on FoxSoccer or Gol after the fact?
I don't think so. Neither of those stations have any current deals with US Soccer to show national team games. ESPN and NBC are the two broadcast partners now but that would not prevent I guess a one time deal being signed by Gol TV.In any case, neither GolTV or FSC list the game in the upcoming week on their schedules. In the 2010 South American qualifiers, Gol TV showed the qualifiers on a 48 hour delay basis after the games were on PPV.

Some good news on the ratings front from Euro 2012.

After the first three days of Euro 2012, four group games on ESPN drew higher ratings than those for any first-round game four years earlier.Sunday's Spain-Italy game, which kicked off at noon ET, drew a 1.7 rating, higher than the 1.6 rating for the Detroit-Cincinnati baseball game on ESPN.Three other games drew higher ratings than the 0.9 rating that was the best rating at Euro 2008 for a group match: Germany-Portugal (1.3), Netherlands-Denmark (1.2) and Ireland-Croatia (1.2).

do your stuff Derek (I would kill to be in your spot!) :)Don't forget to take care of MLS when you can. Even if you just DVR and let the DVR play with out you watching should register from how you explained it :)

I was just about to ask which games you've watched so far. All of them?

Admittedly, i dont know enough about the sport to have an opinion on commentators/analysts, but i feel that the ESPN coverage of this so far has been pretty good. One of the big things that always kept me away was the flopping/diving/feigning injury...ESPN is showing replays on many of the incidents in slow-motion, really emphasizing the legitimacy of them.

The commentators and analysts are all employed by ESPN but none of the video/replays/etc of the game you see has anything to do with ESPN. Most of the world receives the same feeds/replays etc. It is really the only way it can be done logistically and not have 100 different crews trying to film the game. That being said, I 100% agree the production is excellent.

Does any team go to the turf more than the Greeks (other than the Italians I mean)? Seriously they grab their ankle or knee each time they lose the ball.I have played and watched enough to know that all teams use it as a tactic but the Greeks simply over do it - and poorly I might add.

In case any FBG guys in the area are looking for a free way to watch the US game tonight

If you're looking for a place to watch #USMNT vs Guatemala, one of our pub partners @Trinityhall is showing match for free tonight.

It is a blight on the sport.

Ho could have predicted this march would be a mess? :(

Things had taken turn for the worst during Russian march to stadium. All the latest after the Greece/Czech game on ESPN

OK, we're inside the WNS now, and we kick in an hour and twenty. Bad scenes here, we have a full report with video soon.

I feel like a sucker but I think I'm just going to order the ppv tonight. I think it's only $30, for some reason I was expecting boxing/mma prices. I hate streaming games on my laptop.

I hate streaming as well. But for me it's not the cost of the ppv, it is not wanting to, in any way, contribute to this happening again. The only way this crap stops is for the company that is putting it on ppv to not make enough money to justify the cost. I certainly don't begrudge anyone who wants to buy the ppv or go to a bar to watch the game. One note, from what I heard the game will not be in HD on the ppv. There are also suppose to be an English and a Spanish announcing team. I am unsure how you differentiate when ordering the ppv.

Where are the MLS games on?I can only seem to find them on NBCSports or whatever it is...They always seem to be on the fox sports channels but are blacked out when I go to check on them. Also, about the turning it on and letting it run...Every 42 minutes the box blinks and wants you to confirm that you are still watching. Its a PITA, but it tries to prevent you from just turning on TV's and leaving. I am bad about it though and actually got a call about it from my Neilson rep. I usually have all the TV's on in my house so when I am walking around doing things and chasing kids every room I walk in has the game on or show or whatever...That is frowned upon apparently.

Nationally televised games are on ESPN/ESPN2/NBC/NBC Sports Network/GalavisionFSN only has locally televised games not national games (which is why they are blacked out). Here is a full list of the TV gameshttp://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/01/05/mls-2012-national-tv-schedule-nbc-espn-galavisionThe Galavision games are relatively meaningless for ratings but the NBC/NBCSN and ESPN games will factor heavily into the next round of tv contracts coming up for negotiation in 2014.

I disagree with this. I think the more money the ppv makes the more money the legit channels will bid next time around. Higher ratings can only be a good thing.

Rangers are heading to liquidation. This result means they are now banned from Europe for three years. Also, the other SPL members now need to vote on whether Rangers will be allowed to play in the SPL.

This.

Something is wrong with my internet. ESPN and everywhere else shows the score of the game as 1-0 Russia but I'm just sure that Lewandowski has at least a brace by now. Can anyone in front of a tv confirm?
