Seeing Subotic out there....has a US-born player ever won the Champions League? I know Subotic wasn't born in the US, just wondering. Just some quick thoughts....O'Brien wasn't playing for Ajax when they last won....no Tim Howard for Man U. Maybe someone back in the day?

Jovan Kirovski was on the Dortmund roster when they won in 1997. He appeared in the tournament but not in the final.

Not sure I agree with that final whistle. Seems a little premature. Like 3 of the 4 minutes of added time were just subs and time-wasting.

I would rather eat broken glass than watch Arjen Robben celebrate.
And the voting was close, but the Didier Drogba Award for most time spent on the ground in a CL final goes to... Frank Ribery -- as he narrowly edges out Boatang.
The best team won this year and it was a great game though, so at least there's that.

Gotta give Robben credit today. He was really determined. Generally he starts with the whining, flopping and general dooshiness at the first sign of adversity, but today he kept battling and left the theatrics to Ribery.

Obviously disappointed but it was a great match. I don't see how Dante isn't give the 2nd yellow on the PK. But Bayern simply took charge in the 2nd half and broke BVB with regularity. Please Lewandoski, go to England and not Munich.

What a great game- end to end, fantastic skills individually and from both teams tactically, tons of chances, tons of big plays. I'm glad the ref didn't decide the game and I'm glad it wasn't won on a dead-ball which I would've bet money on given the way BM dominates in the air and can deliver the ball so well.
I thought Dortmund played fantastically well, but ultimately BM just had more in the tank fitness-wise and skill-wise. And for all the obvious credit to Munich's attacking players, I thought their backline did a great job shutting Lewinetc down and limiting his chances in front goal- Dante coulda/should've been off, but man he was a beast winning balls back there.
Gus Johnson on the Dortmund keeper coming out on one of Robben's breakaways "HE GAMBLED!!!!!" (so the safe move was to sit on his line and let Robben dribble in on him apparently). But inspite of the hucksian bombast yelling, yeah- Johnson didn't blabber as much as I feared and let Warren Barton have a lot to say, which is a good thing IMO (big fan of Barton as a commentator, can't remember hearing him do color for a game before).
