It appears the loss of Jozy has really dampened the AZAlkmaar attack. They scored 7 in their last match and just put in their 6th in the 64' today.

And a good showing by Eephus' pride and joy AFC Wimbledon against a very game United club. United of Manchester that is.

I kinda like these club friendlies in the offseason. The other day Swansea thrashed some lower dutch side 10-0...putting in most of their a-team for the first half
Jozy with a goal and an assist in his first action for Sunderland.*

* OK, it was a game against a "select" Italian pub team that Sunderland won 13-1. Sessegnon apparently had four goals in 20 minutes.

I wonder regarding Bayern beating out United for Thiago whether an important factor was the choice between Pep Guardiola versus David Moyes as manager.
Not a done deal.
I know. I'm also not bashing on Moyes who I respect.

I'm just pointing out that Moyes is barely in the top 5 in terms of professional profiles of coaches in the PL, especially in the eyes of European players. Even AVB might arguably be regarded as having a more impressive resume than Moyes, though of course Moyes has an advantage when it comes to their respective teams.

This is a position of relative disadvantage in recruiting that United hasn't experienced for 20+ years.
Luke Shaw snubs United (and Chelsea too) and opts to stay with Southampton. Just sayin'.
I'm tellin ya', man, the wheels are coming off.

;)

France has so many big time talents on this team. Thauvin, Zouma, Pogba, Digne, Kongdobia.

Unfortunately, Sanogo is a long, long way away, IMO. He's essentially Jozy when he left MLS. A big kid with a lot of physical tools, but almost zero tactical awareness and a concrete first touch. He's not even remotely ready to help Arsenal.

He's having a poor game (I've watched a couple of others), but I have to agree. He's not even on par with Eisfeld who also can't find a way into the first team (and who I like a lot actually).

Looks like that goal they surrendered perked them up a bit, and they just levelled with a clearly correct penalty awarded to them.

3:30 start? Odd time. I missed the first half...saw it scheduled for 8 PM on FSC and figured that was the live showing.
I specifically begged off of an outing with my wife this afternoon because I had thought I saw 3:30. But then I saw the times on FSC and thought I had screwed up. So I was busy watching the U-20 game for the first 30 minutes, until I was alerted anew that Brek Shea sucks.
