Looks like LA gets Chelsea Liverpool or Leicester PSG.  Leicester PSG could be fun depending on who plays.  Wont go see the other (partly due to it being a Wed night, partly because its Chelsea and Pool)  With United going to China this summer, probably won't go see any preseason games unless my bro in law gets tickets for Arsenal (He's a supporter) and offers one.

This one's for Andy...Croatian FIL wants to see Pirlo, so we're going to the Revs@NYCFC Sat.  Will be my first MLS match :bag:

Also for you Chelsea fans out there, 4-year old decided his favorite team is Chelsea since he loves Willian's hair.  He does know he plays the right wing and shoots really well.

Speaking of which, anyone (Floppo?) have any idea where's less bad places to sit at Yankee stadium with a 4-year old?
only place I've enjoyed a little bit was behind the goal. you're at least closer to the action than the rest of the cavernous, distant seats elsewhere where it's like you're watching a tv screen of a tv. of course, you're behind the goal and hard to see some of the action when it's on the other side of the field. no idea with a 4yo.

This was a fun and interesting read to see how the players think about different topics.

MLS player poll: Salary concerns, promotion & relegation, Prem chances
Where would the best MLS team finish in the Premier League this season?

"Sixth. Guys would play in that league and figure it out. I think guys in this league are a lot better than people give them credit for."

"Relegated. The best MLS team would get relegated every year in the Premier League. An MLS All-Star team would fight to [survive] in the bottom half."

I've got to think the ICC is going to suck even more than usual, with the Euro, Copa and Olympic tournaments this summer. Lots of reserves I'd imagine, and the Dutch, with the other stars either out "injured" or walking around for a half at most.
Regardless, I'll hopefully be in Charlotte to catch the Bayern v Inter match on 7/30.

Me and 2 buddies are talking about flying to Cali to see 2 Liv games.  So, any idea how much tickets will be?

Games are July 27/30.  With the Euros ending July 10, I wonder how many stars will be there?

How many weeks are players usually given off during the summer?

Soccer is the rare sport where guys don't seem to get much of an off-season.

If last year is any indiction, I had first couple rows of upper level seats at midfield  (FedEx Field) and tickets were $75/ea.  I bought through ticketmaster though.  I heard they were cheaper via scalpers/stub hub etc...

Organizing a Riverhounds-Rhinos excursion to Rochester for late August. I'll probably see all kinds of international superstars that you guys won't.

I would love to know what player wrote in to claim 6th.  That is lunacy.

The only MLS team that could be 6th in the table would be DC United before the season starts and the teams are listed in alphabetical order. :)

I've always thought the best MLS teams might be able to narrowly avoid the drop if they were able to put their best XI out for every game.  Otherwise, forget it.  Mid-table Championship in real life.  Bad teams maybe around the top to middle of League One.  Just a guess.

It's an interesting thought process since I do think that some of the top players at the top MLS sides are better than top players at the bottom of the EPL table.  Like you said the MLS teams just don't have the depth, but they'd matchup fairly well in terms of the typical English game.

so I assume we don't want Sebowski managing this team as he does not appreciate the "concentrate on league" mandate that would be necessary in this case...

:)

They have, and up until a recent stretch of poor form, they had some top-6 ambitions. The last few games have been, umm, bad.
Well, I'm pulling for them, even if Brighton is kinda my Championship club (and nearing automatic promotion!). Along those same lines (as Leeds) Portsmouth is battling for a playoff spot in League 2. I want them back up.

don't have the link, but huge bit of news here... underarmor is getting into the soccer jersey business, becoming the official shirt of the Cosmos. ok.. you all can exhale now.

Liverpool looking to exchange Benteke for Roma's Leandro Paredes, a 21 yr old regista/CM...don't like this at all.  Strootman (whom i love) has been injured last 2 yrs, DeRossi is older, and Keita is just old.  Paredes is a rare talent, & not sure Benteke fits Spaletti's scheme; I hope its not just the American owners splashing cash for a big name; Dzeko= Caveat Emptor.  Roma will have Gerson as AM, & Parades as CM for the ffuture; they can sell Sanabria to either Madrid club, & Sadiq Umar to Arsenal, netting somewhere close to 50 mil€...hopefully keeping Leandro.  I hate being a"selling" club, just to balance books...oh, & hey Chelsea/Conte...#### off!...trying to steal Nainggolan/Pjanic/Manolas...God I hate all things English :wall:

LOVE me some Strootman

I'd like to see Liverpool get Pjanic thrown in, too.
