Twellman reported today that the new jersey sponsorship is worth $5m a year which makes it higher than almost every current MLS shirt sponsorship deal.FC Cincy continuing their all out push for expansion.
Today they held a press conference to show their new kits, showcasing their new jersey sponsor along with the number 19 on the back to represent the year they want to enter MLS and the jersey had an MLS badge on it.
BIG FIFA NEWS from trial today: Alejandro Burzaco said Fox Sports, Televisa, Media Pro, TV Globo, Full Play, and Traffic all paid bribes for soccer rights.
Burzaco, a witness for the US gov't, said his company had partnerships with all those companies and he is personally aware of their bribery. Added that Grupo Clarin of Argentina did not pay brbes.
This is a big deal, involving some of the most important sports media companies in the Americas and, in the case of Fox, in the world. Fox Sports is currently being sued in federal court in Miami in a separate, but related, civil case.
https://twitter.com/kenbensinger/status/930464334190346241TV Globo is owned by O Globo, Brazil's largest media company. Televisa is a huge Mexican media conglomerate. Fox Sports is Rupert Murdoch's sports broadcaster. These are heavyweight companies being accused of a serious crime in Brooklyn today
Glad to see Chiellini not going - can't stand that guy.
I just noticed no Dutch player in that lineup.Glad to see Chiellini not going - can't stand that guy.
A lineup with Robben on the bench really could win the WC. I toyed around thinking about a second team while I was mowing the grass one day (god, I'm becoming scooby) but I know this board can do it better. I think I had trouble at FBs.I just noticed no Dutch player in that lineup.
I don't even think Pulisic can make the bench on this team. Lots of good wingers not going to WC.A lineup with Robben on the bench really could win the WC. On current form, I'd be tempted to replace Buffon with Oblak. I think we can also do better than Valencia at RB. Serge Aurier comes to mind.A lineup with Robben on the bench really could win the WC. Luis Suarez likes savors this post.Glad to see Chiellini not going - can't stand that guy.
Uh, needs more Pulisic.

Argentine official named today for taking bribes in the FIFA scandal has committed suicide
I love that SoccerTwitter pretty much joke Tweeted this into existence.
My one ball has been significantly bigger than my other ball my whole life, am I dying (worse) now?

anybody go to the game or watch?
I'm concerned the Charleston Battery is heading in this direction. They have alternate kits with the name Holy City FC on them and the PA often refers to them as this.RIP Tiki Mon... the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL) have been rebranded as the Penn FC. I dislike that name even more than the old one.
Battery is a great name!Mjolnirs said:I'm concerned the Charleston Battery is heading in this direction. They have alternate kits with the name Holy City FC on them and the PA often refers to them as this.
I saw somewhere that they had a city council member come out today strongly against any public support of a stadium. Seems like this is part of the gamesmanship.I don't know how much of this is a threat or is reality but more possible bad news today (we can't seem to go a day with out it).
FC Cincy stated that if they don't get accepted into MLS they are planning a significant downsizing of the team to match what other USL teams have for expenses.
This could be the sticking point of the deal.I saw somewhere that they had a city council member come out today strongly against any public support of a stadium. Seems like this is part of the gamesmanship.
This could be a real holdup in Austin also. Hopefully they find a site with existing road infrastructure. As someone currently serving on the Bond Election Advisory Task Force for the city of Austin, I can tell you that infrastructure funding is very hard to come by these days.Government support of the surround infrastructure (roads etc) which is not cheap in any way.
This is the piece that really makes me curious to watch. If for some reason the Government in Austin does not pan out for Precourt financially, does he just turn around and stay in Columbus and pretend that all is well? This could be a real holdup in Austin also. I didn't know they literally played on an island in the middle of the river. That is a terrible name change.RIP Tiki Mon... the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL) have been rebranded as the Penn FC. I dislike that name even more than the old one.
I don't see any way that happens. Sell or find another city seem to be the only options. Leads me to believe that things must really be a lot further down the road than it appears, even to relative insiders. This is the piece that really makes me curious to watch. BREAKING: Multiple league sources indicate Caleb Porter is out as head coach of the Portland Timbers
multiple reporters are saying this is not true and that porter just wanted to take a break from coaching.Kristian Dyer @KristianRDyer
Couple sources in the league whispered to me this morning that they're hearing Caleb Porter will be FC Cincinnati's head coach in MLS. Hence why he's leaving Portland.
Yeah, until the next big chance comes along.multiple reporters are saying this is not true and that porter just wanted to take a break from coaching.
Yeah, as much as I'd like to see this happen, it makes zero sense.multiple reporters are saying this is not true and that porter just wanted to take a break from coaching.
The team is trying placate fans who don't want the stadium built in northern KY (#buildithere) and wasting time trying to build it in a neighborhood outside of downtown Cincinnati. Very unlikely they get support or help with any of the infrastructure needed to make a stadium work in that area. It's a distraction and a bad look imo. Really annoys me and I hope it doesn't screw up or water down the bid.bentley said:I saw somewhere that they had a city council member come out today strongly against any public support of a stadium.
