Yeah, was at Houston - now Chicago.

Quick wiki - she was born/raised in Utah, and may have some interest in ending her career there.
I wonder if they will sell the teams in parts or as one bundle?  Watt could easily by the Royals with some partners but RSL would need some serious cash.  I would not be surprised to see it over $600m.

Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano · 8m

Van de Beek to Man United, here we go! Man Utd tonight as expected have sent their official bid and Ajax just accepted without any negotiation. Agreement reached for €40m + add ons. Paperworks and medicals on next week

     :oldunsure:
I heard AJAX waited for Barca and just accepted the ManU offer after Barca didn't call dibs they had on him.

Milan just stole Tonali from Inter. Inter had to sell a MF before signing Tonali and then Conte pulled out thinking it was 2014 again and instead wants Vidal and RB Kolarov instead. Tonali has been a Milan fan since childhood as well

Fabrizio Romano

@FabrizioRomano

Sandro Tonali to AC Milan, confirmed and it’s a done deal: here we go! Agreement reached for a loan with buy option from Brescia. Personal terms agreed today. Inter are out of the race after having an agreement with Tonali since April. @SkySport @DiMarzio @PeppeDiSte #Milan

Rumored loaned for 10M with Option at 28M so in total if and when Milan buys Tonali it will be close 40M with bonuses most likely involved. This also don't exclude Bakayoko from returning either. They want both with 3 Comps this season and Pioli expressing a need to upgrade the MF depth. After Bennacer/Kessie Milan had very little depth which is why both played a ton last year.

Contract confirmed until 2025 and salary from € 2.2M net per season (upwards) + premiums for Sandro #Tonali to the #Milan , which will pay a 10 million loan with redemption dir at 15 + other potential 10 bonuses. The #Brescia will have 10% on future resale from € 30M and up (at least € 3M)

The exact transfer fee for Tonali to Milan: €10M loan with buyout option for €15M plus €10M bonus. The offer was readjusted during the day

Brahim Diaz decided to join Milan after a phone call from former Madrid teammate and Current Milan player Theo Hernandez

Also Zlatan Ibrahimovic is coming back for anther year and wearing the cursed #9 jersey. Pippo Inzaghi said in march if anyone can break the #9 curse at Milan it's Ibra

Antonio Vitiello: Tonali had a clear will to go to AC Milan, he was decisive in the deal. He did not want to miss this opportunity. Milan's management have shown that they know how to make deals by taking a great talent at favourable figures and formula.

I know you guess have been waiting with breathless anticipation - but Amazon's All or Nothing Documentary on Spurs 19/20 starts now - 1st 3 episodes are out now.  I think a total of 9 in total.

ETA: Poch sacked 20 minutes in.  :sadbanana:

Levy thinks this paints him in a good light.  I hate him even more after the first episode!

Jose though - h's growing on me.  I feel good about where Spurs are headed.  Hope springs eternal.

Is the California Messi in it?

I think you mean Marcus Edwards... not sure where the California part came from....

but, no, he was sold to Portuguese club Vitoria before last season.

They kind of fast forward to the part where Poch gets sacked and Jose becomes the star of the show.

No gooch, no watch.

Go Jozy :)

Jozy Altidore

@JozyAltidore

He (DLH) needs to sell the team then. I’m involved in a group that’s ready to purchase it. Time for change.

[Ryan Smith] on Twitter: “I’m in.... they got my number” (on purchasing Real Salt Lake)
Holy hell, these two tweets were related.

It turns out the head of Jozy's group was Ryan Smith.......

No but it's probably similar to the Bimbo deal the Union signed and no one knew what the heck it was at first. They are part of a Mexico company that is based in Horsham PA and Suburbs of Philly that is partnered with Sara Lees, Thomas and Entetmens
Lol. It’s not at all like that.

And guess who just got the call up for the English national team in place of Maguire?  Jack Grealish.

United signed Van de Beek this weekend from Ajax.  From what I've seen, he'll be like Ji-sung Park, v2.0.  Is that version worth 40million quid or so?  I don't know but I do know that Pogba was at his best when paired with a fierce box-to-box midfield like Vidal at Juve and United don't really have a guy like that now.  They tend to throw Fernandes who's more attacking, and the likes of McTomminay/Matic who are both more defensive oriented.  I think the signing is fine, not a game changer and at too steep a price, but it is what it is.  Hopefully he helps this squad get better.

edit - actually it was Grealish to replace Rashford who has withdrawn.

From what I was reding, VDB can play an 8 or 10 role and will be the back up to both Bruno and Pogba.  This is something United sorely needed so neither had to play every min of every game.  He is good at finding space and playing 1-2s.  He isn't as daring with his passing as Bruno is, but keeps possesion and makes the good easy pass.  He can start for them but also improves the depth.  40m is a good piece of business. Oh and with Pogba reportedly having covid, this could be huge.

Would still like Sancho to improve the attack, a holding MF (talk of stealing Thiago) and a CB (Upamecano is linked).  Graelish is also rumored still.   Nice to finally get a signing (when its official this week), but need to get more done so they can get in to training.  Esp with the Rashford Ankle, McGuire legal issues, AWB quarantine and Pogba covid.

The more I am thinking about this, van de beek may be more like Anders Herrera, except without the affinity for getting carded.  Herrera was very underrated at United, and we're getting an 8 year younger version.  Dutch leagues is also similar to Premier league in playing style, so I think this is going to be decent.

Of course I also thought Daley Blind would be a lot better than he was.  And of course as soon as Blind went back to Holland, he was fantastic yet again.

Blind came in as a DCM and was made into a defender, often paired in the middle with Smalling.  He never got a chance under LVG.  Back at Ajax he had a better pairing and was a leader there.

Herrera is the only one who left recently that I was sad about.  Hugely underrated.  Wasn't as quick on the ball as Mata but had the vision and passing range Mata did, and was better defensively.  Damn those passes he made in the CL final were pretty, to bad Mbappe and Di Maria couldn't score from the silver platter.

Oh and Park was a great servant of United and improtant to those SAF teams.  Perhaps you meant Kagawa, who unfortunately got lost in the transition years.

:oldunsure:

Similar in the sense that they are both 11 v. 11, with a round ball?

Ajax probably have more hits than misses when their players move up to a bigger league, but I don't think there is a great correlation for Dutch-league players in general.

"It’s fair to say that English clubs have had, at best, mixed success when it’s come to signing players from the Dutch league, the Eredivisie. For every Robin van Persie, there’s been a Jozy Altidore. For every Luis Suárez, there’s been a Vincent Janssen. "

Dutch league plays a tough style of soccer and generally speaking their players are taller, more physical.

Spanish league are generally smaller, quicker, more agile players

French players are by and large not as gifted, less physical, and frankly any that show talent are quickly gobbled up by large leagues.

And Serie A are soft af and go to ground if looked at the wrong way.

I'm certainly not saying that players from the Dutch league are sure things.  Ajax is a machine, like Porto, but that's not to say that these players move to bigger clubs/leagues are are dynamos.

Just got an email from Austin FC announcing that season tickets are sold out. Looks like they are holding back about 25% of tix for single game sales.

Sounds good. Maybe now try it after actually having watched the eredivisie play.

And Serie A too.

The Dutch league might have the greatest gap between technique and bite of any league in the world.

I think it was RHE who used to refer to the keystone cop nature of the defenses in that league, which was one of the likely reasons we have seen American's (Jozy, Bacon, Bradley etc) score in Holland at a rate they never came close to any where else.

Simple not as true anymore. Maybe around 06/07 but Serie A has gotten tougher and refs are not rewarding players for diving. They've also been disciplined with cards. Today I see way more Brazilian players like Neymar and Spainish sides doing this as they reward the behavior and refs seem scared to card Neymar for do it. Also check out todays NBA as they make what Italy did look innocent. Players like Lebron it got so bad it was nicknamed by NBA fans LEBRONNING.

Maybe try actually watching these leagues before commenting and make general stereotypes.

It appears the only thing softer than the players in Serie A are the American fans of these teams.  And I guess I don't watch enough soccer    I mean if you're talking national team soccer, yeah, because that is terrible.  But club soccer?  Pretty sure I watch plenty more than I should.

if your take away is that Italian players are soft and Dutch players are hard... well, don't bogart that stuff, my main man!

but that's different than saying Italians dive. they do. as well as germans. and spaniards. and dutch. and english. and french. and everybody.

tactically, as andy pointed out and my snarky original reply intended... the dutch league is near the bottom of the defensive world. seria A is near the top. that includes how they defend individually.

No you would know if you watched enough of leagues the Dutch is in the bottom half. A lot of players from different countries dive. The complaint on Serie A from other fans is it's too defensive which is true one of the top if not top league defensively. You think Jozy Altidore is scoring 20 plus in Serie A from the Dutch? He can barely get 10 in MLS what would make someone think he'd do better in the top domestic league defensively.

Many other countries have players who dive. I've seen a lot of PK's given in the EPL simple because of a player diving. Neymar in all leagues is the absolute worse. Taken from another site from Summer of 19 these were the worst players at diving in the EPL and then I'm posting the teams who were carded the most on this.

Most PL yellow cards for diving since the start of the 2015/16 season:

4 – Wilfried Zaha
3 – Dele Alli, James McArthur
2 – Sadio Mane, Raheem Sterling, Pedro, Adam Smith, Leroy Sane, Joshua King, Martin Olsson, Roberto Pereyra, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Shkodran Mustafi, Daniel James

Clubs with most PL yellow cards for diving since the start of the 2015/16 season:

10 – Crystal Palace
9 – Tottenham, Arsenal
6 – Watford, Liverpool, Man Utd
5 – Everton, Chelsea, Man City, Swansea, Bournemouth
4 – Southampton, Leicester, West Ham, Huddersfield
3 – Stoke, Sunderland, Burnley
2 – Aston Villa, Newcastle
1 – Middlesbrough, Brighton, West Brom, Fulham, Wolves

Standings since 06/07 when data collected on Clubs carded for simulation in the EPL

Just for context when I google diving a lot of hits come up for the EPL.

Di Marzio: Tonali forced Cellino to close negotiations with AC Milan. The player was instrumental in making Brescia accept the Rossoneri's offer.

Fabrizio Romano

@FabrizioRomano

·Leicester are in advanced talks with Atalanta to sign Timothy Castagne. Price tag around €25m. The Belgian right back is ready to join Premier League.

@SkySport

#LCFC #Castagne #transfers

Fabrizio Romano: Brahim Diaz to AC Milan is almost a done deal. There is a total agreement to close in the next hours. Operation formula: Loan+option to buy, and Real Madrid would have a buy-back option.

A question please: thinking of starting a free fantasy PL league with friends and family. Closest I've done on this was a pub league I did years back but it was some random UK site. Anyone have any suggestions for a site/platform to get this started? Thanks.

Fantrax is a good site.  We are using it for the fbguys league.  Not sure what the price is but it’s a traditional draft league like most fantasy football leagues.

Im a huge fan of the official pl game.  I devote wayyy too much time to it.  It’s not like a traditional draft league, but like the old rotisserie baseball leagues back in the day where you get 100m and choose 15 players.  I wasn’t a huge fan at the start, but have grown to love it, and my friends/family league is super competitive.

My favorite part about the official game is that you have one team, but can join multiple leagues, and also rank your performance against the entire world. Last year I was 55,000. Not good, but out of 6M maybe not so bad.

Hey Shader, thanks, I will check it out. - I have family that moved to the UK and it was on my slate to get to a game this year. That's been put off of course, but hopefully we can do this in the meantime. - Thanks - SID

Price is free for Soccer - I think they charge for the other sports.

But, it is a draft league, v. the official fantasy game, which may be easier to handle if you are just starting out.

:censored:  Looking through the early weekend games, it appears worse then what NBC Gold had.  On the 19th and 20th how do you only show 1 game each day?
I figure its one of two things:

1.  NBC has something else scheduled those mornings - can't imagine what it might be.

2.  NBC is "promoting" its Peacock service - thus putting almost all the games on that platform.

Well, that was quick. Seven minutes to get a ban? :lmao:
