Who doesnt love the sound of jackhammering?
I mentioned this before when this was first announced but I fear something is going to go bad with this some where in the future.

I know this is just a copy of what Portland does with the log but I am pretty sure the log cutter is a pro and not some random drunk fan they are handing a jackhammer to :)

It looks like a jackhammer in only the loosest sense of the word. Also, are the concrete sections pre-cut? Nashville should appreciate no longer having the goofiest MLS ritual.

I'm sure Charlotte with top them all in lameness when they start play next year, but these are just really bad. Better to just do nothing.

Charlotte FC has found its first coach, per a source. The expansion side has hired Miguel Ángel Ramírez to lead its team next season. The Spanish coach impressed when he led Independiente del Valle to the 2019 Copa Sudamericana title.

Montreal, which was scheduled to be one of the host cities in WC 2026 has pulled out entirely, citing lack of support from the local government in Quebec.

That leaves Toronto and Edmonton as host cities but I don't know what the ripple effect is In terms of venues across Canada, US and Mexico.

Does another Canadian city jump in now or is Canada really only going to have 2 host cities?  They were supposed to have 10 games.  Does that drop to 6 or 7 now or just get spread between only the 2 cities instead of the 3?

The only other city that can support a WC is Vancouver but they themselves dropped out during bidding I believe.

I don't know what is going to happen.  I think the number of venues is key in how the 48 team stupidity is going to play out so I think the venue needs to be replaced, be that in any of the 3 countries.

I think if Canada does not come up with a 3rd city/venue, they will likely lose WC games, with either Mexico or the US picking them up.

Wow did Barca get themselves into one hell of a mess.  It really shows how much they needed the Euro Super League to be viable

Barcelona can't register any of their summer signings until they shed €200,000,000. This is going to be unreal to watch it unfold.

I saw that as well.  Didn't see whether it affects Aguero and Depay or not?

it effects both of them.  Neither can be registered for the new season until Barca shaves like a mad man (or bribes whom ever they need to bribe in UEFA).
Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga (whom the RFEF is trying to make resign over trying to play league matches in the US)

Qatar is in the Gold Cup, huh?
They are doing a nice job getting non friendly matches as they prepare for next year.

They are involved in WCing (even though they are hosting).

They were going to play in Copa but had to pull out because of covid issues in South America.

And now they are going to be in the Gold Cup.

I hope the US does something similar in the run up to 2026.

There is nothing more entertaining than a great MLS trade

Portland *traded* an int’l spot to Cincy in April for $225k GAM.

Got it back today for $100k GAM.

And then traded it again today to Nashville for $230k GAM.

So solid. I like what they did there.

This is how it's done boys.  I wish Sporting KC could trade something for some more GAMs. We'd all be happier.

Isco might go for 20MEuros and they need to get rid of a bunch of guys. This is before they can announce any Free transfers or Resigning Messi. Some have said for yrs Barca was slowly becoming the new Milan of the banter era from Silvio's last years with the club till recently.

Wouldn't surprise me if the league cuts some cheap deal with Barca though. No way they don't let Messi play this coming season

Sandro Tonali was officially bought by Milan today it was announced. 10M discount now 20M took a payout and we Sent Olzer to Brescia with a buyback clause. Brescia president wanted 16,999,999 Euros in cash as he thinks 17 is unlucky number and didn't want to agree to a deal on Tuesday as he thinks that day is bad luck

They should get rid of Kroos Hazard and Benzema too.

I actually do wonder what's up with Cincy.  I get that maybe the international player they had in mind fell through.  Such things happen.  But even I knew Nashville was looking at that guy from Monterrey.  Figures Cincy should have at least known that Nashville could be a partner to sell the slot to without giving Portland a windfall.

So on the Barca thing, is the story that even with Messi not under contract right now, they STILL need to shed 200m euros to register the players they've already signed?  Or does the story assume they have Messi under contract under the reported weird deal that was supposedly agreed to (where Messi is essentially Bobby Bonilla getting paid a ton by Barca while he's in semi-retirement in Miami)?

Has to be assuming he's under contract right?

Oh wait, hadn't seen the BB type deal reported.  What are the details of that?

Zach Lowry does a nice job summarizing this. I believe this is with MESSI NOT SIGNED THOUGH. SO to have Messi even under contract they need to shed 200M Euros

Matheus who had his contract Rescinded is now ready to sue Barca

Barca's Salary Cap Issues mean they can't Register Messi or their Free Transfers at all

So, unconfirmed.
No DiMarzio and a whole bunch of Italian Media outlets said this was happening months ago. Giroud or Chelsea had some sort of clause in his contract to automatically renew another year. Chelsea would only let Giroud go on a Free outside of England. Milan was only interest in Giroud on the Bossman offer not paying Chelsea anything. Giroud also wanted the move as well.

What I think really happened is Milan and Giroud were waiting till after France's Euro's to announce the signing and the rest of the above was just speculation by many

what the what

I hope this was vs S####horpe

@SkySportsNews: Huddersfield forward Kenny Edwards has been banned for 10 matches for putting his finger up the bottom of an opponent.

Leeds is such a trainwreck, how can you not pick them? I think they are my new favorite team!

The latest derailment revolves around them not being allowed to play their top scorer for the rest of the season since he is only one goal away from a contract bonus. The team also sacked the assistant manager without telling the manager why... the sacking letter was also apparently riddled with grammatical errors. some details here: link

I can't look away... I love it.
Ohhh....now I understand why.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has sent a goodbye message to Milan. According to several sources in Italy and France, Donnarumma will sign for PSG tomorrow as a free agent.

“Some choices are difficult, but they are part of growing up to be a man,” wrote Donnarumma on Instagram alongside a video of his time through the Milan youth academy to making his Serie A debut at 16.

“I arrived at Milan when I was little more than a child, for eight years I wore this jersey with pride, we fought, suffered, won, cried, celebrated along with my teammates, my coaches, all those who were and are part of the Club, alongside our fans who are an integral part of what for many years was a family.

“I also achieved important personal targets with the Rossoneri shirt, such as my debut at the age of 16 in Serie A. I experienced extraordinary years that I will never forget.

“Now the moment has come to say goodbye, it was not an easy choice to make, anything but, and a post certainly isn’t enough to explain it, or perhaps I never can explain it because the deepest sentiments are difficult to express through words.

“What I can say is that at times it’s the right thing to choose a change, to face different challenges, to grow and to become more complete.

“All the Rossoneri I met, from the first to the last day, will always be in my heart as a fundamental part of that journey through life that made me what I am today.

“I wish Milan all possible success and I do that with my heart, for the affection that ties me to these colours, a sentiment that distance and time cannot cancel.”
