Anything is possible Arsenal, anything is possible!

Scoring 2 in the first half would put a lot of pressure on Monaco. Will they park the bus right away?

That last 93rd minute goal stings so bad.

Yeah it does. And on the flipside, the Man City goal at the end gives them SLIGHT hope

Crap. :(

Sacramento FC and Sacramento politicians are holding a press conference right now. According to various twitter feeds, Kevin Johnson stated that they were not selected for this round of MLS expansion and that Miami was.

The only way that could have happened was if Miami figured out the stadium issues and there has been zero information they have made any progress.

This is all kind of confusing, because in the press conference they are referring to "yesterdays news" but yesterdays news was about Minnesota, not Miami.

ok now it gets even more convoluted. She knows more about Miami soccer than anyone in the country and seems to line up with what else has been heard.

@BaconJedi6 @Southern_Legion Just spoke to 2 very solid sources. No announcement on Miami expected next 30-45 days. 24th team to be named.

===============================================================

I am starting to think there are some legalities to the Becks bid that they simply need to see out before they can actually name Sacramento as the 24th team. They may have just asked Sac FC to be patient.

This is a comment by Kevin Johnson today:

"If something happens or they falter or things get sideways or they get delayed, then we want to be in a position to step in.”

First two weekends watching MLS, and I have to say, I'm leaning toward the Galaxy. Front-runner I know, but I love Keane/Zardes, and with Gerrard coming there...I almost have no choice.

My schedule has kept me away from two Orlando games, as that team was another potential choice. The obvious downside is that the Galaxy are across the country, but I'm in nashville and the nearest MLS team is Columbus...

The Champiooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

How did Monaco get to 3-1 in the first leg? They look terrible through the first half of this game.
I know, I can't figure it out. Especially when you consider how hot Arsenal has been over the last month. They look scary good in the Premier League.

Miami is a solid sports town with a good track record of successful, well attended franchises.

An Arsenal victory in this tie may be too much to ask, so I hope Bono gets a ball in the face.

P.S. -- If I were designing a drinking game for this tie, you'd have to chug every time Berbatov was described as "languid."

They always look scary until they play a well organized defense. Then they get decimated on the counter.

That gives me hope for Liverpool's trip to the Emirates. Liverpool's defense has been quite stifling lately.

Well at least it was a good effort. Hopefully they are back next year!

That last minute goal at the Emirates :wall: :hot:

If ever there is a good loss, I imagine that's it.
getting knocked out on away goals sucks
You get used to it. It was much worse against Bayern. In that tie, Arsenal playing well in the away game was unexpected. Once Arsenal #### the bed at home this time against Monaco, pretty much every Arsenal fan knew we'd get the moral victory away against a Monaco side with no incentive to come out and play other than on the counter.

Definitely a nail biter of a game. Going 120 minutes aint easy and I think everyone was gassed at 110 or so. The last 5 minutes were a painful boot fest.

Anyway, say what you want about penalties, but it's pretty tense stuff. Atlético sure looked like the better team out there today (I'm sure playing at home helped). Mandzukic has lost his way IMO. he was acting like a little ##### whose only job was to draw fouls. Torres looked far better IMO, even if he's still too slow to pull the trigger.

But damn, Arda, Griezmann, and Koke played excellently all game. Raúl García was not in his best form, and Juanfran hasn't looked like the accurate crossign machine on the overlap like he was last year. Perhaps teams are trying to peg him back more, or at least clamp down on the overlap. He's just not turning the corner like he did before. Godín was missed a little, but I have to like how well Gimenez has played this year at CB. Oblak came up big with a penalty stop. I'm not sure who will be available on Saturday, and I'm not sure where the goals will come from, but hopefully Mandzukic gets his head on straight and scores.

HEREDIANO 3 - 0 CLUB AMERICA

CCL is now wide ####### open. Any of the remaining teams could realistically lift the trophy now - even America, for whom clawing the whole way back at the Azteca is not out of the question. That second leg could be high-scoring, could be low-scoring, could be ugly or pretty or frantic or chippy, but the one thing it will definitely not be is boring.

Amazing result. America looked the clear favorite this year.

Montreal has a decent match up against Alaljuelence. They primarily beat DC based on an extraordinarily poor goal keeping performance (Hamid's backup) in Costa Rica.

This should be a fun game tomorrow night. Montreal has already sold a ton of tickets so it should be another lively crowd.

Updated CL qualification odds. City back on the board, 2/23 odds below. Pretty much United and Liverpool for one spot.

Code:

Those odds seem just about right to me. I can't see Soton or Spurs jumping into the top 4. Untied have a tougher road, but have the advantage of points and being United. Arsenal look like a virtual lock, especially with the way they've been playing.

Honestly, they have a realistic chance at second right now, although their concentration may fade after losing out in more CL play.

This is pretty much the most Arsenal performance ever. Peak Arsenal.
didnt' watch- so they passed the ball around the top of the box a lot and then Ramsey got injured?
A friend of mine who is an Arsenal fan saw a post at 9:59am yesterday (before the game) stating:

Looking forward to Arsenal's brave failure tonight. Early goal.... relax... second goal with 15 minutes left.... false hope.... final whistle.

Seeing more than one European based football writer claiming to really enjoy the MLS games being broadcast late at night in their markets. Seems to be serving the same type of market that WAC games serve for American college football and basketball fans. Even so far as style of play (not the top level, but open and entertaining).

I got home late last night (every night :loco: ) and was too stressed to try to sleep- turned on the tv and stumbled onto the last 30 or so minutes of the America game with the game 1-0.

I ####### love watching these games that kinda matter between latin american teams (copa libertadores too)... some fun skills, not much D, lots of brutal hacking, lots of brutal diving, and lots and lots of chippy bs. at one point, the ref essentially held an America's guys hand, telling him to relax and use his head... this after the guy had single-handedly gang raped most of the Heredenio squad on 3 separate occasions within the span of about 4 minutes. the kid finally gets a yellow, and then one of the other team gets a yellow because an Amercia guy dived. :loco:

but yeah- I see this being like 10-2 in the return in Mexico.

The Sounders just signed a 10 year lease at Century Link. During the announcement they said the deplorable field will be replaced before next season.
