Wednesday at 5 pm ET: An hour-long special on @FS1 with Gianni Infantino's 1st US English interview as FIFA president (with @AlexiLalas).
oh good lord.

Don't get me wrong, I love this sport...but the CL quarterfinals just don't FEEL as big or as important as for instance the NFL playoffs..

Why is that?  Is it just because I live in America and so most people aren't talking about it?

The NFL playoffs don't feel big to me at all. Nobody ever talks to me about it IRL. Even in this forum, which is kinda funny.

I think it is a combination of things.  It's not being covered by routine "local" media, while NFL playoffs are.  There could be no playoff teams within 500 miles of Charleston, but the NFL playoffs would be mentioned on the local news.

Also, I think the "one off" aspect of an NFL playoff game adds a different level as well for most Americans.

Of course a second leg to NFL playoff games would be interesting.  Imagine the Vikings' missed gimme FG not being the end and the Vikes travel to Seattle 1 point down for a second leg. :excited:

Congrats to City.  Two weeks ago, I thought they were mailing the season in, but then Sterling got hurt and things turned around.

Sounds like you chose the wrong game today.  Maybe if your team was ever in the CL knockout rounds you would feel the excitement.
Of course.  Anfield in a CL quarterfinal would be awesome.

In fact the atmosphere Thirsday will blow away what we saw in Manchester today.

I flipped over to the Madrid game towards the end.  I enjoyed that one much more.

Citeh is famous for their underwhelming fans, maybe it will improve with time.

Nothing beats it for me, particularly the semis.  I'm nervous as anything to see if Barcelona can hold on tomorrow.

So evidently throwing on my 14 year old sons under armor underwear and nothing else while watching Real Madrid causes my family to disown me and leave the house. This is my best discovery since beer.

Hi Joe!

Maybe try to wear them as something other than a hat next time?

YIC, Jaysus (from the internet)

P.S. GB beer

FS1 showing the Barcelona v Atletico match.  FS2 showing EPL.  The Bayern v Benfica match is on some of the other Fox stations.  I'll be watching on Fox Sports South.

Do you think it was the underwear or the erection underneath that did it?

Short lists for Player of the Year released:

PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Harry Kane (Spurs)

N'golo Kante (Leicester City)

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

Dimitri Payet (West Ham)

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

PFA YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Dele Alli (Spurs)

Ross Barkley (Everton)

Jack Butland (Stoke)

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

Harry Kane (Spurs)

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Could be a Spurs double, but I think Kane edges Vardy for Player of the year - assuming Kane stays ahead of Vardy for the Golden Boot, and Lukaku edges Alli for Young Player of the Year.
