Fun with #s...this thread has 17,599 posts in it, and has been alive for 515 days.  That works out to be 34 posts/day.  Total views is a bit over 170k, which means on average each post is read 10 times.

Would have guessed more on both counts.
I need to read Kafka's 10 times before they start to make sense.

each post being read about ten times is consistent with the US thread and is consistent with the original monster thread that was archived if memory serves.

Moyes replacing Big Sam at Sunderland.

Like what Dortmund is doing, will be interesting to see how Bayern meets the challenge without Pep running things.

PM, go with Wolfsburg, nobody in Bundesliga is crazier. You get to watch Dante! (Bas Dost is people)

You can watch Brendan Rodgers work his sideline magic for Celtic v Leicester on the Mother Ship right now.

My wife and kids went to Alcatraz yesterday.  Missed Liverpool's visit by one day.  One of my boys is already on board, but if they'd seen them in the flesh they'd have both been diehards for life.

Kids, we don't really have an affiliation with any of these teams, so the world is your oyster. Be sure to pick the one that will cause the most needless pain and suffering.

I'd have so many fourth place trophies in my fan trophy case since 2008 if I hadn't thought that loving The Beatles and hating Osama Bin Laden were valid reasons for following LFC instead of Arsenal.

Just saw this posted elsewhere - seems to explain a lot:

Liverpool have now spent £235m in the last 5 years on players from:SouthamptonNewcastleSunderlandAston Villa

* Drogba and Giovinco both with hat tricks tonight as the Canadian teams win big in MLS.

* On the FAR opposite end of the entertainment scale, I went to a dreadful Revs game tonight.  They played like absolute crap all night.  Luckily their opponent just happened to be the Fire and Sean Johnson thought it made more sense to swat flies than the ball on a late corner which gave the Revs a 1-0 win.   Chicago did hold up to their normal high offensive standards with 0 shots on goal.

*That was a fun NY derby on Fox today.  Sacha and Dax might be the two of the best values in the league for Red Bull.   The ending was funny when Strong had to keep saying "and now he is suspended for the next game".  NYCFC really lost their composure lead by Lampard actions on Sacha.

*I have a feeling if Seattle loses today against KC, Sigi might get sacked.

YOU MAKE THE CALL!

So, as my appreciation for the Beautiful Game grows, I realize that I don't really have a Bundesliga team I support. In England, it's Liverpool. In Spain, it's Real Oviedo. In Italy, it's Roma. In France...who cares, it's France. Everyone there is PSG's #####.

But I don't have a Bundesliga team. Now, I'm leaning towards Borussia Dortmund because of the Liverpool tie-ins (YNWA and Klopp), but I also have strong German ancestry and I recently learned that the bulk of my family hailed from Steinfeld, which is in between Bremen and Dortmund on the northwest side.

Now, it's closer to Bremen and Hannover than Dortmund, but Dortmund is a pretty large club, so I wonder, if I lived in Steinfeld, if I'd be more inclined to be a Dortmund fan over any other club.

So...YOU MAKE THE CALL! Should I back Klopp's former club, which probably has a similar stature to Liverpool in the Bundesliga, or should I back Werder Bremen, which would probably be like supporting Stoke City and all the fun that entails. Or do I support someone else like Schalke, Wolfsburg (like this map apparently says I should), or Borussia Munchengnggewfbewhuiugwdbach?
Join me on the Rasenballsport Leipzig bandwagon

I meant in terms of lore, following, etc.

Yes, I'm aware Dortmund are usually a mortal lock for the top few spots in the league yearly.

And Liverpool will be better this year. You watch.
Well, if we're talking about "lore", you are indebted to follow Bremen, like me ;) ....you know, because of their "musicians"...I know, I know...Kafka would be the jackass of that quadruplet...

eta: context, Kafkaesque, & the Brothers Grimm...for all the haters', & their grievances about the sheer absurdity of my posts...I enjoy what I do!?

When I think of Werder and AS Roma, there's one strong connection ... Der Rudi!  One of my favorite players from my first year in Europe.

LAFC, imo

The Man City Man United game today in China has been cancelled.

The pitch was infected with fungus, and although the affected areas were dug up, recent torrential rain in Beijing has washed away the replacement turf.

This would have been the first Manchester derby to be played abroad ever.

DER RUDI!!  They also had Diego as their #10  @ 2007-10(?), who played the #10 as well as anyone in Europe back then.   I loved watching that guy play.  Werder shared the same kit (Kappa  ) as Roma for some time, which originally drew me to them...I loved the contrast of Kappa's design married to a German club.  It felt so wrong, but looked so right.

The Jose-Pep "karma" is already infectious...

Just an FYI for my NYC brethren, Modell's is selling NYCFC gear for 50% off.  My 4 year old, might or might not have forced us to get matching David Villa t-shirts and jersey for his Croatian cousin.
