Not sure that's a shot at Pogba, more one at the use of Fellaini.  But thats since I think Schweini is a better choice then the Fro and should have got those minutes.  Would prefer the SCHmidfield to the FROfield.
:lmao:   Not everyone is as obsessed with Big Fella as you are.

A buddy just let me know that Man City v Tottenham were coming to my hometown of Nashville.  As tempting as it is to get all Liverpool'd up and heckle Sterling, I'm going to be out of town for a wedding that weekend. :(

But hopefully some of our resident Man City or Tottenham fans can :lmao:  ....hold on a minute, did I say Man City fans?

Hopefully our Tottenham fans will be able to make the trip.

No - not yet - there was supposed to be an official announcement today, but I never saw it.  This is as close to "official" as I saw

El Clasico in Miami is also part of the series - not sure who else is playing in the US - I assume PSG and Man City will be involved in other games in the US as well.

@Kafka  Spurs v. Roma  July 25 - Red Bull Arena

Pretty sure I will make the drive down to Nashville on the 29th for Spurs v. Man City, and they will also be playing PSG in Orlando on the 22nd.*

*assuming the leaked International Champions Cup dates are correct

Let's go with "ever", "regardless" "of" "if" "they" "are" "alive".
"Widely considered" is the phrase that should be focused on here.

I'm not here to argue about whether someone thinks CR7 is one of the two best players alive of all time, but anyone saying that he is widely considered one of the top two is pretty silly.  I'm not sure shader realizes that Pele and Maradona are still alive

On the plus side United is playing at StubHub, home of the Galaxy.  On the minus side, it will be against the Galaxy.  Still planning to get tickets though!

Early rumors has Manchester United vs. Manchester City, Site TBD, July 20 at 10 p.m., ESPN in San Diego.  Would be awesome.

Didnt see this announced.  Could be worth going to.
Real Madrid vs. Manchester City - Los Angeles (LA Coliseum), July 26 at 11:30 p.m., ESPN

I was at a Liverpool bar in Baltimore a few weeks back for the first City-Monaco CL match.  Talking to the English bartender and he tells me how every weekend, these noobs saunter in decked out in red, quoting stats and history they memorized from the internet, and then get all wide-eyed when they hear his accent: "Are you...are you really from Liverpool."  "Nah, mate, can't you see I have a proper job.  Scousers are known as bin-dippers for a reason."  Couldn't help but think of shader.

I love reddit factoids :)

Italy's latest roster contains 3 keepers.  Buffon, Donnarumma and Meret.

Buffon is older than the combined ages of the other two keepers.

You make it all sound so silly. :(

Where's the Liverpool bar in Baltimore? Fell's Point?

My fault, I just went and re-read what I typed.  Apparently I said top 5 of all-time, which I believe most would consider accurate.  But I did say "alive" instead of "still playing".  Sorry about that, I see why that caused confusion.

I bet my wife thinks it's weirder than the guy at the bar.  All of a sudden I'm up at 6:30AM on Saturday mornings getting angry about the ineptitude of the Liverpool defense.  Yeah, it's weird and I can't explain it.

I'm still holding out hope this is in Atlanta. Not sure the new stadium will be ready in time though.
Based on the schedule I would expect it to be closer to Salt Lake City or Santa Clara.  Makes no sense to go from SLC to Atl back to Santa Clara then back to DC.  Too many cross country flights. Could see SD, Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, maybe Denver?

7/15 at LA Galaxy

7/17 at Real Salt Lake

7/20 at vs City at ?

7/23 vs Real Madrid in Santa Clara, CA

7/26 vs Barca at FedEx Field, DC

Not to say it couldn't happen for you....

Smaltimore in Canton.  Great place except for fall Saturdays when it turns into a Penn State bar.
It's on the wrong side of town for me anyway but, jeebus, Scousers and Nits? All it needs to reach Unholy Trinity levels is for Pats fans to show up on autumn Sundays.

Who am I to criticize?  As a lurker, I'm just jealous of your over-the-top fanboy non-schtick.

I wish it were a ruse.  I have no idea how I began caring so much.  Kind of weird actually.

Speaking of weird, my 70+ year old father has started watching Premier League and CL games.  At first, he would just constantly text or call asking me questions while butchering all the names.  Now he talks smack and blows up my phone with spoilers.  And I'm pretty sure all his old cop buddies think he's turned commie.

I would share a story, but Jaysus told me I've already shared it 3+ times.

Try waking up at 330 am for these games because I'm on the west coast and I can't trust my moron friends on the east coast not to spoil the Chelsea games for me. Thank god their run of 330 am start times has stopped for now.

Shader, I'm just assuming that your cracking a beer like @Kafka and I do :bag:

Oddly enough, I have a weird Pavlovian soccer/coffee association now.  When I see soccer, I want coffee, and vice versa.

pretty much the only time I do not have my phone near me is if United plays before 5am.  Leave the phone in another room, wake up and watch the recorded version and work hard to not go see the result when the game isnt looking good.  And I have no east coast "friends" to text and spoil it.

This is so cool.

For those that don't want to sit through the video below, the Atlanta community has come up with a very unique idea to get the urban kids playing soccer.

They found that the biggest issue was transportation from the inner city to the suburbs where the fields are.

So to combat this, they have started to build soccer fields on the roof tops of the train stations around Atlanta.  They hope to build 9 when the project is finished and start a full league using all the fields.  The idea being that the kids will have easy access to the trains and as such can much easier get to the fields.

I wish I had that option, being on call is stupid. Maybe I should invest in a pager so that they can just beep me :bag:
