He’s back for February .
Still leaves Spurs dangerously thin up top.

Lamela is never fully fit.  Lucas is carrying a knock right now.

With no healthy CMs, Dele and Eriksen are having to drop deeper.

Georges Kevin N'Koudou is registered for PL - but I think he has only been on the bench twice all year.

Its a tough stretch for Spurs, and the injuries are piling up.

yeah, but until then?

I have a feeling it'll be llorente and/or delle. too bad- Son's been amazing this season and it's the wrong time to be missing him if Kane is out at all.
It will be Llorente for now.  If not for Kane's injury, there was a decent chance he was leaving in January...

I would expect Spurs to move to a 343 formation, and take advantage of wing-backs knocking crosses into Llorente.

Next up is a 17-yo kid who has been playing well for the U-18s - Irish player, Troy Parrott - #71 in your programs, #1 in your hearts...

It is unlikely but there is also a chance SK could get knocked out early.  The earliest they could be knocked out is Jan. 20th if I am reading the schedule correctly.

The latest he can go is Feb 1st, which means he should be available for the Leicester game on Feb 10th.  I think he would miss 3 league games and 2 cup games in this time frame.

Lamela as a false nine...problem solved...

Oh, its still a big ask for Levy to spend the money - particularly when the bigger long-term need is at CM.

But, Warner is available and down to 18 months on his contract.
How much? If it's above 10M I don't see Levy doing it ;)

This is me reading the tea leaves a bit - but I think Warner is in the £40-50M range - and if Spurs pull it off, it will because they know they are selling Eriksen in the Summer - and it would be a bit of a panic buy (i.e. over pay by Spurs standards).

Losing Kane until March/April - on top of the other injuries - makes staying in the top-4 a big ask, and Spurs need the money from CL.  Given all the issues with the Stadium, and with Poch - moral is not real high right now.  So, a bit of a panic buy may be necessary...

Highly he doubt he goes in that range. Transfermarkt has him at 58M and they're always way low.  Plus, I doubt they can match the wages that the other top clubs are going to throw at him. Guy is one of, if not the best young CF in the game.

I'm quite drunk, but also pretty sure I have pics with Alexi Lalas and Don Garber from today. It was super loud at the venue. We've really embraced being a state that pulls for both USMNT and El Tri, which seems to have ruffled feathers. Curious what the thread thinks.

They hate it. I brought it up during the world cup and they basically strung me up. I'm in a border town so I get it.

I don't think there's any chance Werner goes that cheap, but I've been wrong before today...

What I said to Tasker I guess goes for you too.

El tree? Sounds tedious.

We have a lot of Mexico fans in the SG and the team logo is a tree. It’s a simple play on words. We are trying to be the SG for the whole city as opposed to having a bunch of separate groups.
I understand an MLS club in Texas wanting to draw from both Mexican and US supporters in the community. I don’t get a US supporter singing songs about supporting el tri. That seems odd to me, but I don’t pretend to know what’s best for you. I lived in a border town in Holland for six months. Completely opposite situation there when it came to the national teams.  It would be completely unthinkable for the Dutch.

UPDATE: the Sun is reporting that the news conference is to announce the signing of an unnamed Argentine (Bielsa's home country) national from La Liga.

Dortmund made an interesting announcement today.  They announced they will no longer transfer any players to Bayern Munich.

They probably did not need to publicly announce this but it is about time given their likely over flowing coffers.

Atlanta paid Martinez.  5 year deal.
Just to be clear, this is re-signing of Josef Martinez (which is great for Atlanta as he seems to love ii there).

The Pity Martinez deal has still not been announced.  Almiron is in Atlanta's preseason camp as well so who knows what is going on.

ah-thanks... thought it was Pity.

jeebus- if they actually somehow kept almiron too? scary.

Higuaín supposedly agrees to Chelsea.  Loan deal plus option for a longer loan.  Good move for Chelsea, they’ve flat out stunk there since Costa left.  I think he will adjust fine. Many opportunities in that position for that club.

Today was a hard day my friends. From what I can gather, one of us got kicked out of a bar twice, another’s wife put him in an Uber at 7:45 because he couldn’t stand, another took a nap in the street for a bit until his brother stumbled over him and another gave a homeless guy his scarf and flag. Pretty good little Tuesday.

You guys are taking a deserved beating on Twitter over the chant sheet, but I'll admit I smiled at the McConaghy-inspired "Alright" chant.

Eh. Dale killed and Alright was pretty good.  7-4 worked for the room but should never be used again. It was electric at the location, which is all that matters.

I don’t get the controversy over the sheet. Don’t all SGs have official chants? Since we’ve never had a game, how were we supposed to let people know what they were?
