I got a kick out a Sciaretta article in which he suggested at this point Austin should just go full heel mode and embrace it.

Hire Rafa Marquez as GM, hire Mourinho to coach and get Balotelli as the first DP and just give the finger to every one.

MLS could use a villain :)

Or they could embrace el tri.

Love every 'Dale' video posted on FB. There's a great one from the alley before they let us into the venue but I can't find a public link.

Strange shirt sponsorship's announced today in MLS.

The struggling Fire landed Motorola as their shirt sponsor.

The second biggest team in the country Seattle is putting something called Zulily on their shirts.

Higuaín supposedly agrees to Chelsea.  Loan deal plus option for a longer loan.  Good move for Chelsea, they’ve flat out stunk there since Costa left.  I think he will adjust fine. Many opportunities in that position for that club.
Higuain is terrible

I read a while ago that the Galaxy still have one of the most lucrative deals in the league, which seems strange since I don't believe I've ever seen a Herbalife product anywhere, nor do I know anyone who's ever mentioned using their products.  Yes, I'm fat and I live in the fat/unhealthy midwest, but I'm just completely unaware of what that company is, other than some vague notion that they are a pyramid company that sells diet pills or somesuch.

Don't worry...I'm slender, and live in the unfat/healthy east coast, & am just as unaware as you...plus it's the Galaxy, who dafuq cares anyway?

I guess the smaller name companies are throwing more money at MLS teams to get in the game.  From everything I have read Zulily is giving Seattle a lot more than XBox was.

like I mentioned, I think it's a decent sized player. my wife uses it to buy stuff for the kids and for the house.

Not if you ignore his steady decline over the past 3 years, which is what I’m doing.
I wonder if all the nuts who were upset over the fact that Sarri was playing the Sgt Schultz "I know nothing!" routine over the Pulisic transfer have noticed that he is doing the exact same thing with Higuain?

Morata to apparently join Athletico Milan are going after 23 yrs old Genoa striker Piaytek. No word if Milan will be comp for the last 6 months of Il Pipa

Cali also has a lot of hippies in it so there's that. Herbalife is fairly popular here in SE PA though.

WRONG THREAD!!
I think the ref for the Super Copa was a little too fast carding players. Not only did Kessie get a Red for a Foul overturned by VAR to a red even though Juve had a similar play in THE BOX 5 mins earlier not reviewed but Romanogli was suspended for questioning the official. Gattuso is suspend and our medical trainer is now suspended EVEN THOUGH HE WAS YELLING AT ONE OF THE MILAN PLAYERS!!!!! Must be nice have Juve $$$$ in your pocket.

5 suspended for Monday for Milan INCLUDING GATTUSO AND THE MEDICAL TRAINER?

I am not buying this story but posting out of interest sake since a few sites are mentioning it.

Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Carlos Vela and Los Angeles FC over a six-month loan deal for the Mexican international.

This is according to Sport, who note that the Blaugrana have reached an agreement with both the forward and the MLS outfit over a January move for the player, with it also being noted that Barca will complete the signing of Vela should they fail to sign another striker on their transfer wish-list.

The report further states that Barca have the chance to make Vela’s move permanent should they wish to due to a clause in the deal, something that makes this transfer an all-round smart move from the Spanish giants.

jesus, this is huge for the league if it helps set a new baseline

With @zulily replacing @Xbox as the jersey sponsor for @SoundersFC, the @MLS club is likely to see some major $$$ coming in. Sources say the deal could be worth more than eight figures annually. It's a big bet for Zulily's first sports sponsorship pact

didn't think they were THAT big. wow

but if we can go-fund-me enough to get little skippy's orthodontics or a border wall, yeahsureyoubtecha... let's buy a team instead. that's some funding well spent.

Some IlPippa news as well

Agreement practically reached between Milan and Genoa for Piątek. Deal worth €35M+bonuses. Permanent transfer, Genoa did not want to agree any other formula. Most likely counterpart in the deal is Halilovic, no agreement yet with Bertolacci.

Gazidis attended the decisive meeting with Genoa for Piątek. Everything will be formalized on Tuesday morning, in the meantime Genoa will speak with Halilovic and Bertolacci. Until the deal is closed Higuain will not receive the go ahead to join Chelsea

[Gianluca Di Marzio]

Milan are still interested in signing Carrasco and have asked to sign Diawara from Napoli on loan [Di Marzio]

almiron still with ATL at this point, right?

is there any way they can keep both? because- wow- that would be a thing.
Almiron is still in Atlanta camp practicing every day.

The latest rumor is that a Liga MX team is looking at a loan for Barco which would allow Pity and Almiron to stay together.

Something needs to happen unless they change the roster rules (again).

Pity, Almiron and Josef would give Atlanta the best offense in the CCL.

barcos the big money kid who barely played last year, right?

he played a good amount now that I looked at his stats.  He played 26 games, 19 starts and 1730 minutes during the regular season.  He was reduced to a victory cigar by the playoffs though.
ah- thanks. maybe it's just that when I watched them play he never registered with me. is he a holding MF? maybe he does his work off-screen.

This goes with Higuan news as Milan won't let him go till they have their replacement signed on the dotted lines of a contract Piatek signing gives way for Higuan to go to London for his medical with Chelsea and sign with in the next few days to make the move official. This then clears the path for Morato to Athletico. A lot of moving parts here and why I just sit back and not complain sometimes when my club doesn't make a move. It takes 2 sometimes 3 to tango as some moves by one club are predicated on another clubs moves

Breaking from SportMediaset: Piątek is expected to be in Milano this evening. He will take the medical and sign for Milan tomorrow

I hadn't noticed Milan sneaking back up to the CL spots. 6 teams within 6 points of that last spot- should be a fun 2nd half in serie A... other than the boring ##### of an old lady keeping all the candy for herself.

* Mauro Icardi rejected latest contract from teh only team sane people could support from Milan, Inter
from wanda, Mauro's wife and agent....

"Neither Mauro nor I have ever asked for anything. The problem is that I’m always seen as the idiot. When the club decide it’s the right moment to call us, we’ll answer and sit down with them.

"There’s a real possibility of him staying at Inter for a long time.

"An agreement soon? I’ve received positive signals, so I hope it can be an important week: my phone is on and for me he’ll renew 100 per cent, even if I haven’t talked to anyone yet."
non-idiotic  negotiating skills in play there. "haven't even heard from them yet- but yeah, we're 100% resigning"

This could be very bad for NY losing both Adams and Kaku right before the CCL starts with no replacements in sight

=============================

Eric Gomez‏ @EricGomez86

Kaku to @ClubAmerica_EN update: I'm told @NewYorkRedBulls asked for $12 million to sell, countering América's offer in the $7-8 million range, hoping the #LigaMXeng club will "compromise" at $10 million, which is what RBNY wanted initially. América said no.
