I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that the most entertaining team by far in MLS thus far is managed by Adrian Heath.
They won 1 game away from home all last season.  They have already doubled that just two games into this season.

Darwin Quintero may be the best player in the league no one ever talks about.

Getafe is 4th with Alavés in 5th... Both of those teams have really low wage budgets and making CL group stage would be a major windfall for them.

On the flip side, Villarreal is still flirting with relegation, although they're much better in the last 2 months than in Nov and December. Plus, they are still alive in Europa but have gotten housed in la liga. It would be pretty sweet to get relegated AND make CL by winning Europa League.

Iirc, Portsmouth got relegated and played Europa or CL the next year.

Decent chance the runner-up this year finishes with the highest 2nd-place total ever.  Right now United's 11/12 total of 89 holds the record (when they lost to City on GD).  Right now Liverpool are on pace to get to 92-93 and City are tracking to ~94.

Liverpool are the only club in history to have at least 73 points at this point in season and not be in first.

The D Bag who punched Grealish received a lifetime ban from Birmingham, 14 weeks in prison and a ten year ban from any soccer stadium in the country.

Who said the Yanks have no skill?  This sick sequence was performed by Bethlehem Steel in the USL yesterday
red cards for all. deja vu.

good!

still think the only way of putting the kabosh on this (and keeping the next person from doing it) is to put a hurt on the club as well as the yabo doing it. I mentioned this before- but the crowd cheered him, and cheered his salute afterwards as he was getting caught. if he and everybody else knew that bum-rushing the field like that meant that the team was going to lose, or play X amount of home games in front of an empty stadium, or lost points, red cards, whatever... noboyd would rush the field like that.

Yeah... pretty much resigned to 2nd at this point.  Obviously anything can happen over such a short span, but they're still a player or two away IMO.  Especially a front-foot #8 or a #10 that can play both ways.  Klopp deserves a #### ton of credit for this year's team.

The problem is that United are showing signs of title life for next year and Spurs being in the new stadium should give them a lift as well.  Will be tougher next year.

Can’t imagine he’d agree to it if he didn’t already know that Neymar was lined up for next season.
Reportedly on his way out he named three things the RM Pres should do:
1) Keep faith in Keylor Navas, dont pursue a new #1
2) Keep Ronaldo
3) Sell Bale

I'd have to think something is they assured him of something...

Neymar, Hazard, Kane coming in?
Selling Bale and maybe Courtois?

They are not getting Kane.

Apparently Kante is near the top of his list - so I don't know how that impacts Hazard - I can't imagine that Chelsea sell both - when they have a transfer ban.

Per oddsmakers, implied chances of each team to finish top-4:

Tottenham - 65%
Chelsea - 49%
United - 43%
Arsenal - 43%

As of now, Chelsea (+19) has a game in hand and is 4 behind Tottenham (+25), 3 behind Arsenal (+24), 2 behind United (+18).  United have the FA Cup this weekend before the international break.  they could spend that break back in 6th...

Arsenal has the easiest schedule with no one in the top 6 left and only 2 in the top half of the table
Tottenham still has Liverpool and City
United has 5 in the top half of the table including City and Chelsea
Chelsea has 5 in the top half including United and Liverpool.

All 4 teams play Everton who should be better then they are.

Never say never but I would think you are right, on all of it.

Although Kante has been played out of position all season, for some reason he isnt rated by the coach in his best spot.  May make a move possible.

Red Bulls Closing in on U.S.’ 1st Arena Naming Rights Agreement with Gaming Operator

Rumors indicate that MLS’ New York Red Bulls are closing in on a stadium naming rights agreement with a licensed gaming company – a deal would make NYRB the U.S.’ 1st pro sports team to sign a naming rights pact with a sports betting operator. Sources tell JohnWallStreet that it is Caesars Entertaiment Corporation exploring the possibility of putting their name on Harrison’s Red Bull Arena. We’re being told that the MLS club is seeking upwards of $8 million/season – for a period as long as 10 years. Caesars is also said to be the company Commissioner Don Garber was referring to when he said the league is “close to a major league-wide sponsorship.”

From The Telegraph:

Real Madrid have made the first move in their bid to sign Eden Hazard, by approaching Chelsea about a summer deal, with the Belgian’s idol, Zinedine Zidane, making a spectacular return to the Bernabeu.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Real firmed up their interest in Hazard shortly before Zidane’s reappointment, on a contract until 2022, had been finalised. The decision to replace Santiago Solari with the Frenchman will only increase the Chelsea forward’s desire to go.

It is understood Real have made a proposal to Chelsea, who value Hazard at £100 million despite the fact he will only have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season.

Hazard is expected to tell Chelsea he wants to join Real and has not given the London club any encouragement that he will sign the contract extension worth well over £300,000-a-week that has been on the table for months.

Z coming out of the closet?
Nah he's just French...

So Zidane to RM, rumors coming out that United will name Ole full time manager over the international break (please make sure Mike Phelan stays too)...

Are Spurs fans relieved that Poch is probably staying?  Or are they hoping since Zidane and Pep were both linked to Juventus that Poch is the next one to be linked and may leave?
