I don't get a schedule for next week till tomorrow and been on vacation all week but stopped by work this afternoon to get some help getting into my work account (My passwords weren't working) and they asked me to work Sunday. I was going out for the Milan Derby but really need the money and if it wasn't for Sunday pay I'd tell them no. So now I'm missing the Milan/Inter Match. Luckily for ESPN+ I can watch the match later but seriously thought I'd have Sunday off, go down to Center City a Italian Cafe for some lunch and then have a few drinks with my brother and watch the match. Then head down to Yards brewery for some post game festivities as the Vender for Yards gave me a nice promo thing for some free drinks at the new Yards Brewery back in Dec. Fortunately I got till the end of the month to use it now.

All six English teams have advanced in Europe. Who's focusing on the league?
Technically its 6 of 7

Burnley were out before they ever got started.

But, I think it is a testament to the money in the PL, and how difficult the top of the table will be for the next several years at least.

PSG was playing at home in the second leg with a 2-0 away win in its pocket.  Its really very hard for them to blame the ref under those circumstances.
Very true however it doesn't help when theres a clear VAR review that says differently then what was rewarded to United. It was not a handle ball in the box Mbappe issues was turning his back which then the ball hit his arm. I see that as accidental contact. We aren't talking whats his name in South Africa who reached his whole arm out and tried to play non designated keeper to keep a ball out of the net here which resulted in a PK and a Red. What Mbappie did was no different then the guy trying to block that shot with a tackle arms at his side close to his body and the ball hits him in the arm or a ball deflects off a foot and jumps up and hits the arm. There was no intention to use the hand there. I am glad they are going over this rule in June though. Just saying yeah PSG didn't do them any favors but ManU was outplayed most of both matches and got 2 gifts.

I'm confused I only saw 4 clubs. still in. Oh wait we're including Europa League in here as well!!!! Duh!!! Carry on  :whoosh:

   x gajillion. even grew to love the renaissance faire music. ronaldo in the lead, but messi with a couple games in hand. we're so lucky to have been active fans while these guys are playing and have access to all their games.

nice- I wasn't paying attention to nationality. mind bottling that they couldn't translate all those goals into hardware at the national level.

like dis, like dis, like dis, like dis, likely disappointing.
I read an oral history of Victory last week.  Pele apparently ad-libbed that scene!

Also, Shep Messing had a very funny anecdote about trying to teach Stallone how to play keeper.

The sport is about more than just scoring goals.
Hot take!

Of course it is, but last I checked its still most goals win. And I'm not suggesting they should have started 8 forwards. Just crazy to see these historic goal scorers not translate on the international stage together. It's a damn shame Argentina futbol is so corrupt.

You forgot DiMaria too!

Spurs v. Man City -> Juve v. Ajax

Liverpool v. Porto -> Barça v. Man United
Spurs and United with a chance to do the lord's work.

Also, no schtick... my 8 year old, looking over my shoulder just now:  why did that guy change his picture? (Related:  it's spooky what this kid remembers visually.)

@gianmarco...the Azzurri have the youngest team i can remember...a ton of talent, but the mentality & discipline is yet unproven.  Watch out for 18 yr old Sandro (Little Pirlo) Tonali from Brescia & 19 yr old  Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma...talent-undeniable; head game-strong; both are light yrs ahead in terms of mental maturity.  As for @The Gator, your boy Veratti needs to step up & lead, he's almost a senior statesman for this squad.

Per Veratti...in gonna start calling him " Hack-a-Shaq"...he's filthy, both in his talent, & lack of gamesmanship...enough with the " Napolean Complex" already.  Sheesh.

:censored:

Well, Ole wanted the hard way, he got it.  Having to go through Barca and Liverpool to reach the finals will be fun to watch. Go Porto

He doesn’t get a lot of minutes for Juventus, but 19 going on 37 year-old Moises Keane has impressed me every time I see him.

Yeah, I like this draw as a neutral. It doesn’t have the big star power ties yet, but I prefer to see those in the semis or finals anyway.

Juve/Ajax should be a very fun styles clash.

Spurs/City supplies a ready made narrative with the losing manager sure to face “questions.”

Messi doing Messi things in Old Trafford could be fun. I still remember the Manchester fans giving original recipe Ronaldo a standing ovation after he tore them to shreds.

I selfishly want City and Pool alive in Europe and the league as late as possible.

The possibility of a Messi / Pep or Messi /CR7 final is delicious.

Did they ever allow Aguero to play?

Tough draw for United made worse by an easier draw for Liverpool.  But overall can make for some exciting matchups and possibility of 3 EPL teams in the final 4.

Juve Barca could be a great final

Yes.  Their main problems in the attack is that they never found the right #9.  That isn't Aguero or Messi's game against elite defenses.  You also have seen a lot of sitters missed in crunch time by a few of the players.

Don't forget some young Strikers in Patrick Cutrono and possible Keane by 2022.

Some interesting news out of Milan today. Milan have big Plans for Daniel Maldini Club and former captain legend Paolo Maldini's son Scored a hat trick yesterday for the primavera and then a few hrs later gets the call for the U17 Azzurri. The plan is for him to train with the Senior squad this summer and then focus on the best route to take. Milan doesn't want to create a media circus for the young lad. If it's deemed the right path he could be loaned out

When you're small you got to be tougher and sometimes pull out a few tricks dirty or not or you are gonna have those big CB;s #### with and bully you or the bigger MF's. I'd rather have Verrati's style then flopping and crying Neymar who's 5-9. He literally lets the bigger guys bully him and pulls the victim card of I'm small out. Toughen up butter cup get back up and show the physical style isn't going to deter you.

You also forgot to include Stefano Sensi in there.

Would've been cool if we could've gotten Real vs Juve in the final just like the last Match for the Journey pitted Alex Hunter vs CR7. CR7 transfer to Juve so late kind of messed with the Journey storyline in Fifa. Hunter and CR7 were suppose to be teammates at Madrid. They could've changed it to Hunter to Juve but the storyline was always Hunter wanting to play at Madrid like Diego in the GOAL Trilogy.

BREAKING: FIFA Council approves working with Qatar to explore expanding 2022 World Cup to 48 teams, adding at least 1 more country

Its not like they've been a total failure either.  2014 World Cup they lost in the final in extra time.  2015 and 2016 Copa they lost the in the final on penalties both times.  They had a bumpy road qualifying for Russia, but made it, got through the group stage and got knocked out by the eventual champions 4-3.

CalcioMercato state Sevilla want to keep Andre Silva but want to lower the E43.5 buy tag on Silva that was put as an option to buy with the loan deal. Silva didn't rule out last month of just coming back to Milan either. Doesn't seem Milan will budge on the price either.

Yes.  I agree.  Something about not being able to score in those games leaves a source taste though.

Yeah but you're also talking about an incredible talented team where had they not had some of that talent would they've gotten that far. Sometimes Talent can hide a lot of the holes. For example the 2 yrs of Chip Kelly in Philly were a success but some of us saw huge holes in the team but some fans failed to see them or were blind to them. It wasn't until things went south the 3rd year people saw a lot of the glaring issues with in the team. When you're winning holes are easier to cover up from a fan perspective and sometimes analysts.

Excited for Barcelona vs United.  Not a matchup we have seen recently.  Last three times were two finals and a semifinal, so haven't been in Old Trafford in 11 years.  Scholes had the only goal in the tie.

Yeah, that's good & all...but if you're a leader, you don't consistently get stupid yellows & suspensions.  His yellows have affected the Azzurri more so than his obvious talent.  Think Gattuso, right @El Floppo? Did forget Keane...Cutrone?  Maybe.

The last time the Premier League had four teams in the quarter-finals, in 2008/09, Barcelona beat the Old Trafford side 2-0 in the final in Rome. The clubs clashed again in the final at Wembley in 2011, with Barca winning 3-1 on that occasion.

Oh and Ole returns to Camp Nou for the first time since 99

c'mon, man- I'm trying to digest my afternoon coffee here.

As a neutral, I think we can all agree upon the best thing for soccer would be United #### stomping Barcelona out of CL play, coupled with a Porto dismembering of Liverpool.

Nah I'd rather see The EPL teams loose. The fans need to be knocked down a peg or two. The best thing for anyone would be to see Juventus to win the final. It makes me sick saying it. The best would've been PSG winning the whole thing though
