I like going with the tried and true, but the public process they went through to get there is a bit odd in retrospect. We're going with the extremely creative Charlotte FC as the official team name.
Yeah. Not exactly sure why you would put so much buildup for a bland name with the same colors as the Panthers. Crest is neat though and it was nice the put the "minted" in there as a nod to the supporters club (Mint City Collective).I like going with the tried and true, but the public process they went through to get there is a bit odd in retrospect.
The exciting part is the ticket sale deposits. The 25k puts them ahead of Seattle and roughly the same as Atlanta given the time frame.Yeah. I wonder how Sinn feels about Hojbjerg now - since it looks like he is headed to Spurs to fill a gaping hole a DM.I can't find their composite 1-20 but the Guardian staff has Southampton at No. 11. Which is entirely possible imo. But they like Sinn's boy Hojbjerg.
Ruh roh.Good lord, Houston needs to keep possession of the damn ball. They’re super lucky LA hasn’t scored.
I love how LA is just killing clock to screw Houston.
That was just a craptaculor match.![]()
They were going for the win. But just...not good.
Seems like a fair chunk of change for Liverpool to pay somebody to take him off their hands. The off-season has not even officially started, but Liverpool is already making improvements:
BREAKING: Dejan Lovren’s six-year stay at Liverpool is set to draw to a close with the defender on the verge of joining Zenit St Petersburg for a fee of around £10.9 million.
Damn, thats going to set a high bar for what United will have to pay someone to take Lingard.Seems like a fair chunk of change for Liverpool to pay somebody to take him off their hands.

RIGHT THREADIt will be interesting to see if Atlanta returns to a latino coach not that de Boer is gone.
Bit of a wow for me too.
Seemed like the unloaded their better players (ATL fans- confirm?), but are now expecting to do just a well?
Via the magic of the Internet I'll reply to Floppo's question from the wrong thread in here.It will be interesting to see if Atlanta returns to a latino coach not that de Boer is gone.
[Roger Gonzalez] Hearing Atlanta United will likely focus on South America for its next head coach. Hearing a lot of names, especially that of Ariel Holan. Former Independiente boss won Copa Sudamericana with El Rojo.AAABatteries said:Via the magic of the Internet I'll reply to Floppo's question from the wrong thread in here.
I don't know if FDB was directly responsible but they have let a TON of talent walk out the door the last 2 years. The regression was expected but they started the season well but looked dreadful since the tournament started - granted Josef is still on the shelf and is impossible to replace.
Nagbe, Villaba, Gressel, Meram, LGP and Parkhurst all gone and that's after losing Almiron, Asad the previous year.
There's still talent - Pity and Barco but neither of those guys has made the impact that Josef and Almiron made. Not sure where they go from here but going back to a Latino coach wouldn't surprise me at all.
Or in 2022 since Austin is now the only club joining the league next season. And with 42K deposits. Finally got the chance to get my tickets this week. The exciting part is the ticket sale deposits. The 25k puts them ahead of Seattle and roughly the same as Atlanta given the time frame.
I have no idea how covid will effect this but if there was no pandemic, those numbers will translate in top of league level attendances next season.
Is it first come first serve in terms of who gets a deposit converted into a season ticket in the new stadium or is the Supporter group section handled differently?Or in 2022 since Austin is now the only club joining the league next season. There were three levels of deposits. Premium, supporters and everything else. With good reason, they wanted to make sure that the people in the SS knew what they were in for.Is it first come first serve in terms of who gets a deposit converted into a season ticket in the new stadium or is the Supporter group section handled differently?
So are you assured of getting a ticket or will it still depend on how many of the 42k ahead of you make the conversion? There were three levels of deposits. Premium, supporters and everything else. With good reason, they wanted to make sure that the people in the SS knew what they were in for.

Currently down 2-nil to Arsenal, this move looks to have backfiredWTF? Replacing a manager with 2 matches to go and you're 3 points clear of relegation??
@mcgrathmike: It is understood Nigel Pearson will be replaced as #Watford manager for the final two games of the season
To add to this Ragnick was not keen on some of Milan's signings like taking Kjaer from his loan and buying him now with their option for 3.5M which is a bargain among some other possible signings. For those who are big football fans and know Chip Kelly it's starting to sound like Ragnick is the European Soccer version of that along with Jurgen Klinnsman. In a turn of events last Tues during the Milan/Sasassulo Match Kicker in Germany came out with a report that Ralf Ragnick and Milan were no longer going to partner up this coming year. Christian Falk then reported the deal was dead and Milan was going to make a public announcement which seemed odd for them since Ragnick was not publicly announced yet. After the 2-1 win for Milan the club announce Pioli had signed a 2 year contract extension Monday night. By Wednesday multiple journalists reported the deal fell through on Ragnick as Ragnick was offered only Technical director and not manager as well and would have to work with Pioli. Ragnick declined as he also wanted to be viewed as the Savior of Milan for not reaching European Football next year but because of Milan's run since the restart (2nd best club in the league since on based on goals and its) Ragnick no longer felt he could come. Also press releasing from publications from Maldini and some others about Ragnick made him turn the deal down.
Well, quite a season end for United. They grab 3rd, qualify for CL and now can just go play for the Europa title without the pressure to need it for CL. Transfer window is open so they can get moving on getting players in and ready for the start of the season, since they will need it with only 3 weeks between the UEL final and the start of the EPL.
Set the record for most PKs in a season
McGuire played every minute of every game
Rashford and Martial each with 17 EPL goals despite missing significant time
Bruno transformed the attack
Needs: RW, Midfield Depth (Attacking MF and DCM), CB (left footed with pace, move McG back to the right CB).
Sell: Lingard, Pereira, Jones, Rojo, Sanchez, Smalling
Yeah, was reading a review of all of them. 1 definitely shouldn't have been. perhaps 1-2 others were light, but the rest were penalties. But either way that is a lot.
It was just a coincidence that Bruno seems to go down more than Thai hooker... right?Yeah, was reading a review of all of them. 1 definitely shouldn't have been. perhaps 1-2 others were light, but the rest were penalties. But either way that is a lot.
Agree with all of that but I still think they need a LB. If they can find someone, sell Shaw and give Williams some time to develop.Well, quite a season end for United. I can see that. Just prioritizing since I don't see 5 signings this summer.Agree with all of that but I still think they need a LB. If they can find someone, sell Shaw and give Williams some time to develop.
They do need to get CB right. Since the Rio/Vidic partnership there's been a lot of inconsistency there - I think McG can the other guy but they need someone. Lindelof is a good 3rd choice. I'd put 2nd priority DCM - I think we could upgrade on Matic, McT and Fred.I can see that. Just prioritizing since I don't see 5 signings this summer.
