FYI CBS' streaming service is offering a 30 day free trial if any of you want to sign up for Europa and CL games this month.
Great I got CBS access so I guess I'll be able to watch these matches after work next two days. For whatever reason despite getting manager pay this week I'm working later hours then a should. Should be getting out Tomorrow at 2;30 instead of 4 but going in later and Fri and Sat getting out at 5.

Per Romano Ake to Man City is a done deal.

Also Giacomo Bonaventura confirmed he was leaving AC Milan after 6 yrs with the club on IG. He thanks the club, staff, his teammates, and the fans. After the final match Bonaventura was very emotional taking almost 10 mins by himself after the match to walk the pitch of the San Siro soaking in the final mins he ever stepped foot on that pitch again. Jack as he was known by to Italian and Milan fans came to Milan in 2014 from Atalanta in a fairly cheap transfer I believe that was barely 25M Euros at the time. He was part of some rough adventures and the whole Li controversy of owning the club. Through it all he came back from injuries as well. He was one to never complain about his role or playing time in the club either. Jack was a good MF but he's clearly lost a step. Over the past month you could tell when they tried to get him those long distant passes just a few years ago Jack got to with zero issue during the Copa Italia vs Juve. He was also not beating his man in 1v1 situations like he use too. This isn't to say Jack should retired. he should be a serviceable sub rotation guy in another club. Fiorentina and Roma have already expressed interest in his services.
Despite this Milan news in reporting Jack maybe brought back on short term

Tutto Sport via MilanNews.it are reporting that Milan could attempt to keep Giacomo Bonaventura with a short extension of one year as a depth player. Bonaventura on Instagram does seem to suggest that he will leave the club as he has sent a thank you message to the club and the fans. The report says that both Paolo Maldini and Stefano Pioli consider Jack to be a key player and consider him to be useful for the upcoming season. Tutto Sport goes on that he does not want to leave and would be willing to take a pay cut to remain at the club. He currently earns 2.5 million euro per season and could accept an offer of 2 million.

Fabrizio Romano says Dortmund won't budge on 120M. If ManU can't reach to that amount Sancho will STAY WITH DORTMUND. Right now both clubs are just playing the typical cat/mouse game and see who blinks first. Typical negotiation tactics going on for such a large transfer.

#Chelsea has decided and opened to sell Tièmouè #Bakayoko. #Blues ask €20M at least for the french midfielder. #ACMilan still interested, even if his salary is too high (Baka could spread his wage...). Talks ongoing: #Maldini is waiting the price goes down... #transfers #CFC

Can someone educate me on Aaronson for Philly?  He keeps showing up on my Twitter feed doing things I expect to see on Saturday mornings.  Holy moly -- that sequence tonight on the offside goal.

A German manager called him the American Havertz. I don't think we need to go into anymore detail. Other then he's a local kid here who Curtain managed when he was still the Union academy manager. Probably the most highly touted youth players in the 10 year history of the club thought Pulusic unofficial was with the Union academy at one time.

I agree, tbh.

At this point, even if the stands are empty the play should be back to normal.
With the international breaks and the regular schedule back, I am happy to have just 3 subs again.  It favors the top/deeper teams which is why I am not suprised 11 of the 20 voted it down.

The 18 v 20 player bench doesn't bother me either way, still only get 3 subs.

You should come to the US thread, we have been talking a lot about him.  Very exciting player that looks primed for a jump to Europe.  He is being scouted heavily by a bunch of teams, in Germany, Belgium and Holland if memory serves.

The only thing that will stop a move is if Philly is hoping for too big a sale in what is likely to be a down market for many mid sized Euro teams.

His assist last week was very pretty, not just the perfect pass but in how he freed himself to open the pass window

This is a discussion on it's own but I fully agree with this and all sports should do this. Be a professional. You not just represent a team and club but an entire league when you play. Playing pro sports is a privilege not a right.

Sources: MLS has terminated the contract of FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez. Termination comes after investigation into report of domestic violence earlier this summer.

that is semantics though I think.  Nearly every team in every league in every sport has clauses in their players contracts that allow them to terminate a contract should something bad happen off the field.
The issue is more certain players get special treatment over others or the league gets too gun shy or hides it until the cat is let out of the bag. Example Ray Rice.

I’m referring to the “you represent an entire league” comment. It implies that all 27 clubs got together and decided in unison, when it’s really no different than the Dolphins cutting that guy loose last year for the same thing. The league did it because they own the contract same as the Dolphins.

I would think this year would be a good year to elevate sell-on percentages.  Would it be crazy to sell a player like Aaronson for a relatively low fee with a 50% sell-on attached?

I am a huge fan of these type of deals, specifically when the player is going to a likely mid sized team.  I love the upside in case he hits big in Europe and then moves up the chain to a bigger team in a few years.

Sarri is out at Juve.

Pochettino make some sense as a replacement, but he is allegedly in talks with another large non-English club.

Maybe Conte moving over?  Allegri coming back?

One of the reasons I saw from Italian expert journalists is Ronaldo told the club he wanted a transfer if Sarri stayed. Sarri was never the best manager style wise for Juve but over the last few yrs Juve has done very little to make moves to help the entire squad get the CL Trophy. Adding CR7 is great but maybe investing most of that into several players to help the overall squad is more beneficial. I guess we all know now who the brains of the operation were and it wasn't Agenelli. With much of Serie A getting Stronger it's gonna become much harder and harder for Juve to win the Scudetto anymore.

Red Bull Arena will host 3 teams for home games when MLS resumes.  NYR, NYCFC, and TFC.

Montreal and Vancouver I think still need to find US based home fields as MLS teams can't cross the border.

I like the idea of as many teams sharing stadiums as possible.  Limiting the travel as much as possible seems to make sense in this environment.

Looks like FC Cincy are negotiating with Mario Gotze.  I am shocked he is still just 28.  Feels like he has been popping boners forever now.
He's not quite quick enough for a top 5 league anymore IMO.  His skills though will light up MLS.  I think he'd be one of the top 3-4 players in the league immediately.

Willian to Arsenal, Pedro to Series A
Tbh, I thought he was Chelsea's best and most consistent player. Not sure, bit it seemed like Frank rode him into the ground and he looked gassed by the end (and injured, iirc).

Huge loss for Chelsea imo, even if they have wings to fill in for him.

I disagree.  He would start for 50-75% of the teams in the top 5 IMO.  He just is no longer good enough for the top teams any more.   He will likely make more in MLS than moving to a smaller mid table or lower team in the top 5.

I think people sometimes don't realize the massive gap in talent between the top teams and the bottom half of the clubs in the top 5 leagues because we always seem to be watching the same 20 teams play, when the other 80 are no where near that level.

I do agree he would be a top 5 player in MLS if he stays healthy and has a quick adjustment to the travel and field turf.

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. Italian teams not named Juve are still not able to retain top talent.
League's changing for the most part. The fact Juve was able to get Ronaldo was a coup. Italian players are getting smarter in terms of realizing pastors aren't greener outside of SERIA A (Seem to struggle other countries) and Fedrico Chiesa is being reported is turning down any attempts by Man United to go to Milan if they can pull that off. Inter is getting Stronger, Milan is in the best shape financial it's been in yrs and experts are saying this is a great transfer market for them to get the guys they want on the cheap thanks to the pandemic, Atlanta people are sleeping on and with another good CL run they should be able to retain guys, Lazio is getting stronger too.

Juve's issue now is Agnellie. He was never the brains behind the main operation that made them so good. Juve got rid of the wrong guy and got rid of Allergi for the wrong reasons.

Got a hard time believing this is legit. he was looking at Serie A because of his Wife. I've yet to see anyone besides Manuel Veth make this comment either. Gonna wait to see if any of the big transfer guys make mentions of this.

Always best to be skeptical in the silly season.

The UK media reported he was in Cincy for a medical, but one of the Cincy podcast hosts said the medical info was false but that the team are negotiating with him.

I only heard 3 clubs since this started with him. Milan due to his wife fashion wise, I think the other was Napoli or something (Another Italian Club) and a small rumor that Newcastle United wanted him but not sure if that was do to possible takeover or not.

He was born offsides

Happy 47th Birthday to Super Pippo Inzaghi!

Dortmund draw line in sand - Sancho is not for sale now.

Your move, United....
I was talking to someone about the transfer and made the joke that Woodward would get the deal done just in time for the January window to close.

But based on some credible sources, it sounds like just negotiating tactics out of BVB and as soon as Woodward gets close enough to what BVB wants, Sancho will be sold.
