Grassroots Coach

@GrassrootsCoac5

Great character shown by the kids today, I had to step in and ref the game so I couldn’t coach, and for them to equalize in the 24th minute of injury time was special. Well done everyone.

Newcastle takeover dreams are trending again with the announcement that Saudi Arabia is lifting the ban on BeIn Sports. Piracy of EPL games being left unchecked there was one of the various reasons (some insist it’s the main reason but who really knows) for the Premier League to drag their feet on approving the deal. 0.5% of Newcastle fans are excited while the remaining 95.5% of the Toon Army is so snake-bitten they’re berating that 0.5%.

From the BBC: Newcastle takeover: Saudi Arabian-backed deal is close

Approval from the Premier League could possibly come in the next 24 hours after a consortium proved the Saudi state would not have control of the club.

Instead the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is set to provide 80% of funds for the £300m deal, will be seen as separate to the state and therefore allow the takeover to pass the Premier League owners' and directors' test.

It was believed that a resolution came after Saudi Arabia settled an alleged piracy dispute with Qatar-based broadcaster beIN Sports, which own rights to show Premier League matches in the Middle East.

But sources have told BBC Sport that an agreement between the Premier League and the consortium was found prior to the news emerging on Wednesday, with the two parties being set for arbitration on 3 January.

:oldunsure:  Cans? :oldunsure:

The EPL and big 6 are afraid of competition. it's why they all tried to join the Super League.

I guess by tomorrow Erling Haaland to Newcastle confirmed?

EPL knew they wouldn't win the arbitration hearing. They had zero bases for not allowing this takeover from day 1. Ashley wants to sell now too and I heard unconfirmed rumors that Newcastle was ready to open up a can of worms on the EPL as a whole which the Premiership said "Nah lets just give these guys what they want then"

Sky Sports reported in their 9PM Local time broadcast the consort man is led by Amanda Staveley with Backing from the Saudi Assortment. The deal could make NEWCASTLE UNITED THE RICHEST CLUB IN WORLD FOOTBALL!!! Yes you read that right. Richer then PSG or Man City etc.

Rumors were swirling in early morning that the consortment of members of the buyers had flown into Tyneside in the wee early hours of the morning in Newcastle.

A lot of people take money over anything else which is unfortunate and hopefully if this goes through we don't hire a bunch of mercenaries in the CR7 regard.

Mino has Donnarrumma at PSG and he apparently already wants to leave do to playing time.

@martynziegler

A bit of red tape has held up the Newcastle takeover announcement but no big issues I'm told. Still expected today. #nufctakover

I loved the city, personally. Didn’t see the ugly parts, admittedly, but there’s plenty to do and it won’t be hard to be a legend there.

Yeah...I've always assumed that was one the attractions of the Barca, Madrid, Milan, PSG, and of the London clubs of the world.  Much the same way NBA guys want to go to NYC, LA, or Miami.  Maybe that's not as big of a concern here with more top-end talent available.

The group that purchased Newcastle, Saudi Arabia Public Investment Trust,  is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salmon (MBS).

Will be interesting to see how they do it.  Might have to overpay to get a few names in, then show some movement up the table and commitment to winning and maybe they can become the next City/Chelsea.

I know people say a lot of things, especially at the beginning, but the stated plan (and what the majority of the fans want) is a long term plan that rebuilds the facilities/infrastructure and builds a strong foundation. Nobody is really expecting insane splash signings. Right now the team just needs to survive the season, so Bruce will get fired and they’ll sign some solid players in January to help them stay up.

Nah from what I've heard is GIGI is unhappy with his playing time at PSG. Apparently HE WANTED TO STAY AT MILAN however Mino and his family forced him to leave Milan. It's unfortunate but it seems like another example of parents living through their kid.

Reports after the Atalanta match when we secured our CCL spot is GIGI made his final decision and told Maldini he wanted to extend and stay at Milan. However a week before Maldini and the club made their final decision and went after Mike16. This is what a lot of fans don't understand. Gigi was pressured to leave and unfortunately had the wrong people in his ear.

Not a fan of this part at all. This guy is responsible for Koshoggi death and is a big supporter of terror groups including hijackers responsible for 9/11

Say what you will, Mike Ashley never had anyone killed...probably.  He might have if he knew he could get away with it.
I mean Ashley in the end should be commended as he knew he was losing money. He wanted the club to go to pretty rich people in the end and he backed his promise.

Union Assistiant GM and Philly Native Chris Albright was hired by FC Cincy to run the show as their GM Good luck to CB there he's gonna need it

I am sure there was a lot more to it, there always is.  But your last line is more along what I was alluding to, esp with Raiola as his agent.  Mino is all about the next move and the big payday, he never seems to be working in the best interest of the player he represents.

The other Clubs in the EPL are having an emergency meeting with the league asking why this was allowed through. I sense the big 6 took a massive Shyte in their pants realizing they might have more competition soon.

Also Amanda Staveley is saying a lot of good things. Just a few of the important points

* Doesn't want to make promises like fighting for the title and the likes of PSG in CCL in 5 yrs. Wants to set realistic goals like first keeping the club out of relegation

* Club is rumored to have 196M Euros kitty for the winter window do to the fact Ashley barely spent on the club

* Question why Alan Shereer and Keegan aren't more a part of the club (Wants to move Alan's statue to a better spot not outside the Stadium)

* Rumor is Staveley has been in text communication with Alan for a bit about a possible position in the club. Her and her Husband had a meeting with both club legends to get their thoughts on how to better the their club and what they can do to help short and long term

* Amanda and her Husband seem to be running day to day opts and journalists commented how it's great to have communication between club and fans again

* Amanda said the fans are first and foremost. They want to run the club right and not spend like drunken sailors essentially. It's been around for 100yrs want the club to last another 100

* Made sure to let everyone know the minute they feel they can't run the club they will step down and have others do so

* Hasn't talked to Lee Charnely but rumor has it he will bridge gap between the regimes.

* Bruce will probably be sacked in the near future

*Preaches patients and is happy to finally own the club she's sought for over 4 yrs now.

Haven't watched any of the Newcastle Interviews been reading whats in The Athletic for most part. Will probably watch the Videos when on Vacation and get settled in tomorrow in the Outer Banks.

The same big 6 who wanted to form a breakaway league are now concerned with the league they were trying to run from. The irony here is incredible along with the hypocrisy.

I, for one, hope we do the full heel turn.

“You Can Call This The Newcastle World Order of football, brother! Like us or don’t, but learn to love us because we’re just too sweet! NWO 4 Life!” :Matt Richie steel chair to head:

Staveley and the new regime had their talks on the club going forward and reports circulating Steve Bruce will get his walking papers in the next 48 hrs

They’re meeting in person today. Graeme Jones will likely be caretaker until a permanent replacement is found. He could be the guy until the end of the season if he keeps them clear of relegation, but it might be ideal to have the new permanent guy in there for the January window.

Rumors are Ralf Rangnick could be the Director of Football. He was apparently responsible for building up RB Leipzig and is very highly regarded. I’m going to be getting a crash course on new (to me) names and some recent history across the football landscape throughout all of this.

Ragnick was rumored to takeover Milan last year if they didn't get champions league. He runs a high press system when you lose the ball right away etc. He also doesn't have many clubs that are over 30 all very young. Elliot/Milan are trying to run the club similar to Red Bulls in terms of who they target. He targets a lot of high and upcoming young talent tries to get them before they become big. A lot of the guys they resell after awhile

Apparently MBS is not impressed with the recent developments.  Apparently he told his aides to buy a "new" castle, and instead they came back with a #### club.

Lucien Favre seems to be the name bubbling to the surface for next Newcastle manager but I’m also pretty sure we’re going to hear a bunch of crap for awhile.

Irrelevant to anything and I'm certainly not overlooking the systemic flaws of these kinds of surveys but Newcastle-on-Tyne recently made the global top 15 in percentages of citizens reporting their overall happiness with life.

Maybe it's not the cold rainy hellhole that we've been led to believe. Or maybe the folks there just don't care about the weather. Regardless, I was surprised at their presence on the list.

I attribute it to them spending 98.7% of their waking hours piss drunk.
