GMP: "Greater Manchester Police were made aware earlier today (Sunday 30 January) of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

"An investigation was launched and following enquiries we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing."

Yeah, unless this is the most elaborate hoax in history, Greenwood is very done.  Yikes.

Didn't he also get booted from England camp for bringing a girl into the team hotel (presumably not this girl, but I dont know) and breaking COVID protocol? Obviously not victim blaming here, but she should have left him then.(assuming it wasn't her)

What a scum bag.

Good way to get that ref never to give you the benefit of the doubt on any call in the future.

On the field, she deserves to be there:

Yeah doesn't sound good for Greenwood.  United hasn't officially suspended him but has said he is not allowed with the team for training or games.  I haven't seen the pics or heard the audio, and don't want to, but he has to be done if true.

In other news, Phil Jones doesn't want to go to Bordeaux due to lack of guarantee on game time after playing 1 game in 2 years for United.

VdB off to Everton to see if Lampard knows how to put his name in the starting lineup

Rangnick approved Lingard leaving but the board doesn't seem to want any money for him before letting him go for free in the summer.

Amad on loan to Rangers scores on his debut.

he seems like a guy who will explode for somebody else. just weird how little use United got out of him.

who did he go out on loan to... Villa? he needs to go back to whereever was working for him.

There's a good joke waiting for when Everton play Villa but I'm probably not clever enough to find it. Something about the technical area being too crowded for Lampard and Stevie G to both flourish on the same touchline.

Spurs doing a better job offloading deadwood, than they are bringing in new players.

Ndombele back to Lyon, Dele to Everton, Gil to Valencia.  Lo Celso also could be moved to Villarreal (I think Villarreal still have to clear a roster space)

Ajax had wanted Bergwijn, but I think he looks set to stay at Spurs now - priced himself out of a move with the two goals v. Leicester.

Joe Rodon was available - but no takers.

He never had the career I thought he would have when he was young but this could be a fun signing for LA

The LA Galaxy are finalizing a deal to sign Brazilian winger Douglas Costa, per source. Costa, 31, will be the club's third DP. He's made 31 apps with Brazilian national team, has featured for the likes of Bayern, Juventus and more in hugely successful career.

Not sure how I feel about signing a guy who was mostly known for his sauce after he's turned 30, but maybe he can at least be another Ilsinho (the 20 minute Garrincha!) off the bench.

Yeah, Spurs have really mis-managed him - should have sold a couple of years ago.  But, they tend to hold onto players too long.  Conte making some ruthless cuts to the team, and forcing Spurs' hands here.
I don't know if you can blame the team.  He had managed to piss of Poch by the end.  No surprise he pissed of Mourinho, but TSO did seem to try (and he did tell him what Sir Alex had said about him).  Seems it was all very much over by the time Conte got there.  Maybe there's a great player's coach out there who can get his confidence back.

Its not that its anyone's "fault" - Spurs should have "managed" him better in terms of selling when his value was higher.

His best fit was always as a 2nd striker playing off of Kane.  Its still his best fit - relative to his skills.  But, since Poch left, Jose, Nuno, and now Conte - don't play with that role, and Dele is not good enough to build a squad around.  So, he is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.

I hope he can find that edge he had as a younger player, but that will depend on how Frank sees fit to use him.

Mbappe to Real Madrid but not until this summer?  Is this true or just a rumor?  I hate when they do this.  My unofficial impression is that Real Madrid does this more than other clubs.

Transfer windows I like:

Spurs
Newcastle
Aston Villa
Everton

Honorable Mention: Brentford

I'd say Norwich and Watford are in trouble.  Burnley and Newcastle should have a good battle on their hands, with an outside chance of Leeds falling back.

after watching more Juve than I ever thought I would (thanks, Swaggy), I can attest that Kulu and Betancur are perfectly perfect Spurs players.
