great finale.

so... when Jax said in the letter "I am not my father," did he mean that he would not betray the club, or did he really mean that he would not sit idly by and let himself be taken out (as his father possibly was by Clay/Gemma)?

Oooo Good Insight. I originally thought wouldn't betray the club but perhaps he had a double meaning. He still has a beef with Clay.

Did John ever betray the club? Did I miss something big?

FWIW, Gemma's expression was positive....so at the least, she thinks he won't do what John Teller did.

I don't think that they ever quite came out and said what happened...only that Gemma and Clay were involved, Gemma didn't have a problem with what happened to him and John was growing discontented with the movement of SAMCRO towards the outlaw, 1% culture.

Right, I know that he got hit by a semi-truck at some point and died shortly thereafter, I just don't remember anything about a "betrayal."

The letter that Tara read at the end from John Teller to Maureen (Irish chick, I think thats her name) seemed to imply that he suspected he would die at the hands of Gemma and Clay. Doesn't mean that happened but thats an awful lot of foreshadowing.

There has been several conversations between Clay and Gemma concerning Jax and alluding to something about John. Some have been outright, like this season Gemma saying something along the lines of "it's not like John, we have to consider everything Jax has gone through before making any decisions" to other comments that have been more to alluding to something. I would be absolutely shocked if Clay and Gemma had nothing to do with the death of John Teller. In fact, I think that that revelation will be the climax of the Sons of Anarchy saga and the point that forces Jax to make a final decision, one way or the other.

So Tig won't let that one dude in the club because of a dog? Can someone explain this to me.
It's Tig, if you can explain him then I think the show is over.
Exactly. Tig is dynamic. Adds another element to the show. But the dude is basically in the club anyway. He helped with everything major in the last half of the 3rd season.

Isn't he patched with another chapter and just unable to to get patched with SAMCRO as Redwood Original because of Tig? I could have sworn I saw a rocker on his jacket that read Northern California or something.

This is correct.

He's the Sgt. at Arms (same rank as Tig) in the Tacoma club, IIRC.

 He's a Son. He's just trying to transfer. Needs to be unanimous.

just watched the first three episodes on Netflix.....nicely done, can't believe I've missed out. Don't watch many series, but used to love Sopranos/The Wire....looks like a new favorite emerging here.

Just started watching this on Netflix. Finished Season 1 last night. Fun show.

Don't want to read the entire thread (to avoid spoilers) but do they ever explain why JAX WEARS SUCH STUPID PANTS?

What in the heck is with you fashion people? First he wears white shoes now his pants?

I didn't see anything about his shoes since I haven't read this thread. But I will agree that his gigantic pants and nurse-like shoes are distracting.

So I'm almost finished with Season 3 (although I know what eventually happens). I'm a bit disappointed that Jax didn't nail Trinity.

I really thought I read it all on this message board over the last 8+ years, but the guy who roots for incest in his television shows is something I'm sure I've never seen before. So weird dude.

Keck's Exclusives: Hoff Lands Extra-Large Anarchy RoleWilliam KeckJul 5, 2011 10:20 PM ETby William KeckDavid HasselhoffSay what you will about David Hasselhoff, no one ever accused him of failing to fill out his Baywatch Speedos. He'll capitalize on his reputation when he turns up on FX's Sons of Anarchy this October in a meaty role. The former America's Got Talent judge will play Dondo, a well-endowed former porn star who is now making major coin by producing sleazy girl-on-girl adult films. Turns out Dondo was given a major career boost by Luanne (Dendrie Taylor) and gets involved in a little dirty work in her memory. And you thought the Hoff was just big in Germany!

Anyone know when the 3rd season is coming out on DVD? I caught the first two in Netflix and am hooked.

I want to see Season 3 before F/X starts up the new season.

Most of Season 3 was very disappointing. The end was great, but all the episodes in Belfast kind of suxored.

I thought the Belfast thing was novel at first (the Irish theme song was neat), but you're right, it got kinda old and I couldn't wait for them to get back to good ol' humble Charming.

I had two major problems with the Belfast stuff: 1, you coulnd't understand 3/4ths of what the Irish guys said and 2, the lighting was so very dark you couldn't see what was going on. BTW, I think I'm going to miss Ally Walker...

Been watching the 3-packs of reruns being shown from season 1 & 2, plus the last 3 from season 3. Forgot just how really great this show is, and makes the stolen baby/Belfast crap forgivable. Time to get it on H2H with the Mayans, which is where I had thought season 3 would go prior to the last episode in Season 2. Ready to rumble again.

My DVR is set for first runs and for whatever reason these have been showing up as first runs so it has recorded them. Been loving it. Going through it all- and it is funny because I look forward to it like I do most other series first runs that I watch.

Jax chopping his hair, the Hoff joining the cast.....please tell me this show didn't just jump the shark.
It jumped the shark when the baby was stolen.
:goodposting: it was certainly unfortunate with this plot line, but i think the show can come back. I wonder if the "jump the shark" movement had shows that were able to come back from it? Either way, this show can do it, and fairly easy too. Add more violence and conflict, and it will be must watch TV

I don't think it jumped. The story slowed a bit with the Irish sideshow but really when you look at it, it did help develop the entire Jax tension with the biker life- bringing him back more to the 1% side than the father side but still preserving the father thing with the letters. And the show has done cameos well with Tom Arnold and Stephen King, I expect the same with Hoff.

The guy who created "Sons of Anarchy" just UNLEASHED THE FURY all over Emmy voters ... claiming they're all "f**king old," out of touch prudes who SCREWED his show out of a nomination.

After the Emmy noms were announced this morning, Kurt Sutter went to Twitter and fired off the following:

"The worse part of not getting an emmy nod. katey [his wife] promised me a threesome if she won. now i have to settle for me, her and the shaved bunny."

"Best part of not getting an emmy nod. now i don't have to pretend i give a s**t about the profiteering ######## academy ... because you know if we were nominated i'd be all humble and blowing smoke up their asses. now i can stay true to myself and just be a d**k."

He continues with a joke -- "These two academy member walk into a bar. one orders a beer. then they both die because they're so f**king old."

And ... "If my mom and dad were alive this emmy snub would kill them. that's not true, they were too old to understand my show. just like the academy."

Sutter also took aim at "Glee" ... writing, "f**k glee. hate those annoying, 'please accept me for who i am', singing brats. there, i said it. are you happy?"

:lmao:
