Pretty sure Peg Bundy gets to do the honors on Clay!
This will only happen if Clay hurts/kills Jax, Tara, or the kids (which I don't think happens). She knows everything that he has done to this point. But if he goes against his promise to the her... well then all beats are off imo.
Didn't he go against his promise as soon as he walked away from her?
Clay promised that HE wouldn't hurt Tara. He never said anything about a cartel arranged hit man.

Wow, that could be the best episode they put together. I am so glad they are moving the main plot along. I am nervous they pull back a bit, but i don't see how they can at this point. i won't say a ton more to ruin any who haven't seen the episode yet, but it is a good one.

It will be disappointing to pull back at this point and I don't see how they can as well. Something has to break here and I think it will. However, they already laid the groundwork for a changing of dynamics that keep the series going in this episode.

Yeah, the train is rolling down the hill. I am not sure how Clay remains in power after this season.Watching Breaking Bad right now, one thing I think that show does better than SOA is to have "lulls" in the action, where the insane amount of criminality is dialed back for a few episodes and we see the main characters dealing with their more personal issues. SOA is just go go go.

In power? How does he remain alive after this season? I think he gets it in the season finale.

Clay is not stupid. He has to know Gemma will be telling everyone everything she knows (cant really hide what happened to her) so why doesnt he finish it. He has already shown he is a sick doosh. Wonder how he spins it

So why did they just grab Tara? If they were hired to kill her, drive up, pop her and drive on.

I know the plot would not be the same, but as a former gun for hire, this made no sense to me.

Jail? Exile? Either are non-zero possibilities, IMO.

Because I think the cartel is trying to use her to get Jax.

Get Jax how? To comply to something, that's the only thing you gain by a kidnapping.

I'll have to go back and watch, but weren't the guys who tried to kidnap Tara the Russians? They spoke in Spanish, but when they took the ski masks they looked white. The guy hired by cartel was in the park smoking, not in the van from what I saw....one man, not a group of three. Cartel told Clay he worked solo.

Yeah, the hired gun was an independent assassin like our belljr. I think the "hit" was made to look like a move from a rival gang ("Los Lobos"??) because Clay told the cartel guy that Jax would want a few of their heads for revenge.

It was the Mexicans. Why else would the cartel refund Clay's money for screwing up?

IS this the last season? Can we have more Gemma getting the crap beaten out of here? Also, can we get a pron star thong shot of that hottie girl again? Thanks, I will hang up and listen.

I guess Samcro was too pre-occupied to care about Juice this week. Still, I found it odd that they didn't really bat an eye at Juice's flaky behavior.

Great episode. Seems like Clay is going to get the Julius Caesar treatment. Long line forming of people that want him dead.

But they have signed on for a fifth season... can't have Clay getting killed and Jax retiring from the club or they pretty much don't have a show. Unless they bring in another strong personality, I suppose. Personally, I'm waiting for the cartel to do one of their famous BTK scenes followed by disposing of the body in a barrel of acid.

Clay can get whacked and Jax can take over from there. They planted the seeds for "Will Jax stay or will he go?" with his conversations with Opie and Tara towards the end of the episode. My guess? Clay dies (and there's so many ways that can be done), Jax takes over, and Jax and a reborn Samcro have to clean up their mess with the cartel next season. Romeo and the guy-formerly-known-as-David-Aceveda-in-The-Shield will be the lead baddies for Season 5. Making the cartel Samcro's enemy will also make Alvarez and the Mayans enemies again. And it's my guess that Juice will be allowed to live and will help his brothas in the Niners become allies with Samcro again, making the final season Samcro and the Niners vs Gallindo and Mayans.

Maybe he was just trying to get her away from him so they could do the deed. Romeo had to call the hit guy and tell him Jax was with her.

The dudes in the van were most certainly not mexican. They were pretty obvious about that. So the cartel hitman subcontracted?

I am sure it was all part of the cartel's plan that will be revealed soon...

Not the last season. Sure, why not? I think that particular hottie girl is pretty much gone from the show now but you likely will see other hottie booty in the future.

I agree that the Opie conversation was important as was Tara's hand and her freak out. I also think Clay is gone. I think he is going to get it in the season finale and it sets up a chaotic time for the club which along with the conversations mentioned, it pulls Jax back in as the Pres. Likely the tension will be with the cartel as we got a hint of them not playing well with others in flat out lying to Clay (but it is a drug cartel, we really don't need to see that to know that they are bad people). I think the Irish will play a role. I am not sure about Juice but they have set up the new Sheriff being much more sympathetic or at least willing to help them get around the freaky DA.

Well, yea, they said several times that these were not cartel guys but outside help.

like the Cartel and the Russians have teamed up and when the Irish come for the meet all hell is going break loose? That's my guess.

I could see Clay getting sent to prison instead of whacked.
The problem I'd have with that is, they started the season with a bunch of 'em getting out of prison. They really want to end the season with him going back? Not interesting enough, imo.

I'd be for Clay going back to prison in the season finale if Otto whacked him once inside on Jax's orders.

That is unfulfilling. Otto doesn't have a reason to whack Clay where as Jax and Opie really do.

I think the cartel hit man was the motorcycle cop who comes up to Jax at the gas station.

And Juice calling Potter to tell him that Clay was in the clubhouse is somehow significant too. What I can't figure out is who's a more whacked out Fed, ATF Agent June Stahl or ADA Lincoln Potter?
