Unreal. I could see doing this for a playoff game but a PRESEASON game? Ridiculous!!!
linkA Bounty of Towels for 50,000 Fans
Jason Reid, Redskin Insider
Redskins fans surely haven't forgotten the last time the Steelers came to town. Coaches and players can't shake the maddening image of twirling yellow towels, either. But team officials have concocted a plan to sure no one experiences a repeat Saturday night when the Steelers return.
To make sure FedEx Field doesn't again turn into a giant blanket of Terrible Towels, the Redskins will distribute 50,000 "Redskins Rally" towels at Saturday's preseason home opener. The Redskins' version will be white.
"I don't know if there are going to be battles of the towels or whatever," said Coach Jim Zorn, "but it will be fun."
Zorn said last year's Steelers' visit - a 23-6 Pittsburgh win, a disappointing loss that started the Redskins' 2-6 slide - felt like "déjà vu" for him.
"When we played the Super Bowl in Detroit," Zorn said of the Seahawks' 2006 game against Pittsburgh, "it was a sea of yellow. They just have their fans follow them, they distribute their stuff and I think it's great for fans."
The Steelers-Redskins game last November was an embarrassing one for the franchise. Many Redskins' players estimated the stadium was half-full of Steelers supporters. "I'm like, are those yellow towels for us or for them?" receiver Santana Moss said then. "I really scratched my head about it, because I've never seen it done, especially at FedEx, to have someone come into our home and almost have more fans than we did."
While it's only a preseason game, the team wasn't about to be upstaged again by gold-and-black-clad fans.
"I think it's fun that we're doing the same thing... we've got great fans," Zorn said. "I think Dan [snyder] wants to continue to show his support and his enthusiasm for this team, for this community. I think it's all in good fun. He's competitive. We're competitive."

This is what I though of when I read the quote from the Redskins coach.
I was going through this exact thought process Saturday as Logan was ripping off kick returns to midfeld. If they decide to keep him, hopefully Arians can find some ways to get him the ball in space in some offensive packages, too.
I've never been more excited for something. I suk
