Ill be rooting for the PatsIt's made you an ugly bitter little man. Hop upon the Philly train buddy. Best young QB in the game and quality cast of players. You'd finally see what it's like to follow a team that isn't a joke.
Well yeah my original premise was the Chargers were worse. I'd take the other 2 teams to roll these stiffs though2011 NY Giants (9th ranked offense, 25th ranked defense) 9-7 record
2008 Arizona Cardinals (3rd ranked offense, 28th ranked defense) 9-7 record
1994 SD Chargers (5th ranked offense, 9th ranked defense) 11-5 record
Awww, that hurts me so. Just noticed that you have a mancrush on Mike Trout (which is kinda weird). But he's a huge Eagles fan and would be very disappointed in your bitterness and jealousy.Ill be rooting for the Pats
Had him in 2 roto leagues last year, probably time to update the old profileAwww, that hurts me so. Just noticed that you have a mancrush on Mike Trout (which is kinda weird). But he's a huge Eagles fan and would be very disappointed in your bitterness and jealousy.
Cause... the pats defense... is better than the Vikings defense? I mean I know your schticking at this point so I let you keep rolling but I'm trying to follow along.Sorry im not gonna overreact to one game. Congrats to Nick for finally making a completion over 20 yards. He tries that against the Pats and it's going for 6 the other way
Vikings had a great year but I'll take the Pats D to make a stop when it countsCause... the pats defense... is better than the Vikings defense? I mean I know your schticking at this point so I let you keep rolling but I'm trying to follow along.
Vikings played terrible, yes the pats defense will play better than they did last week.Cause... the pats defense... is better than the Vikings defense? I mean I know your schticking at this point so I let you keep rolling but I'm trying to follow along.
Much better. At least you didn't pick a Lion. Wise man.,Had him in 2 roto leagues last year, probably time to update the old profile
Played terrible....or just ran into a superior scheme/system/team?Vikings played terrible, yes the pats defense will play better than they did last week.
You're talking super bowl strategy with a Detroit Lions fan. Just so you're aware.Cause... the pats defense... is better than the Vikings defense? I mean I know your schticking at this point so I let you keep rolling but I'm trying to follow along.
They played terrible. Any QB could have picked them apart. Except the other 17 who faced them this year.Played terrible....or just ran into a superior scheme/system/team?
Love what you've done with the profileHad him in 2 roto leagues last year, probably time to update the old profile
Amazingly they still let you watch even if your team isnt in itYou're talking super bowl strategy with a Detroit Lions fan. Just so you're aware.
We welcome all fans to watch. It's just the bitterness that makes us feel bad for you. :(Amazingly they still let you watch even if your team isnt in it
Who's bitter? Just because I pointed out the Eagles are one of the worst superbowl teams of the last 25 years I'm bitter? We welcome all fans to watch. It's just the bitterness that makes us feel bad for you. :(
Maybe you should write the league office and suggest a tournament of past Super Bowl teams. Since you seem hung up on something irrelevant. Let us know how they respond.Who's bitter? Just because I pointed out the Eagles are one of the worst superbowl teams of the last 25 years I'm bitter?
Oh. Didn't realize we were talking strategy. I was just trying to keep up with the schtick. You're talking super bowl strategy with a Detroit Lions fan. Just so you're aware.
Plus the fact that Pederson added a portion of the old Chip Kelly playbook that Foles was comfortable with. I think that's why they made the best defense in the league look so ordinary last week. So many looks and different plays off of those looks. Much bigger challenge in this game. No better game-planner in the league than Belichick. So, on topic..
Kinda surreal with four ex-Eagles castoffs (Amendola, Dion Lewis. Chung, Rowe) that will presumably be playing a large role for the Pats this game. I think Rowe is the only at the time I was disappointed we got rid of, but it is impressive how the Pats keep turning nobodies into good players.
Another interesting topic - this particular formation of the Eagles (Foles at QB, Ajayi at RB, etc..) - there really isn't a ton of game film on. Usually in the Super Bowl, Bellichek has a full years of analysis on a teams tendencies and such - I wonder how valuable that old film is now. Might be an advantage here for Pederson to have some plays that the Pats won't have prepped for. Not to mention - are you prepping for Atlanta version, which seemed to run a lot more conservative, or the Vikings version, which took a lot more down the field shots? With such a small sample size with Foles, I think it might be harder to really hone in on tendencies..
I wasn't happy when the Eagles let Lewis go. He showed sparks of his potential while with the Eagles but just had guys like McCoy ahead of him. Pats have really turned him into a great weapon. So, on topic..

He's especially scary on turf.I wasn't happy when the Eagles let Lewis go. He showed sparks of his potential while with the Eagles but just had guys like McCoy ahead of him. Pats have really turned him into a great weapon.
Yea I loved Lewis. Would have been an awesome #2 to Shady.I wasn't happy when the Eagles let Lewis go. He showed sparks of his potential while with the Eagles but just had guys like McCoy ahead of him. Pats have really turned him into a great weapon.
And we let shady and Lewis go. Grinds my gearsYea I loved Lewis. Would have been an awesome #2 to Shady.
. Ridiculous.Bad enough to maybe win this gamePatriots are returning to the SB with a team that is much less talented then previous Brady / Belechick SB teams.
They're bringing one Pro-Bowl player not named Brady to the game (McCourty). (ok, Slater .. but he's on special teams and Hightower is IR)
Safe to assume any of the previous SB Patriot teams with Brady would have kicked the crap out of this years version. Wilfork, McGinest, Rodney Harrison, Revis, Bruschi, Ty Law, Collins, Chandler Jones, Vrabel, etc. No comparison.
The AFC gives NE it's top contenders, the Titans and Jaguars. Yes, the best the AFC can offer for resistance comes from the AFC South ... and isn't the Colts. Pathetic.
NE ekes out a win vs the mighty Jags and Vegas still has the Pats as 5 point favorites ... against the best team from the NFC.. Ridiculous.
I can only think to myself, jeeze ... how bad are these Eagles?

To be fair the Giants would probably rank pretty far down in talent of super bowl teams. Yet they won both.Who's bitter? Just because I pointed out the Eagles are one of the worst superbowl teams of the last 25 years I'm bitter?
Well, if you pointed it out, it must be true.Who's bitter? Just because I pointed out the Eagles are one of the worst superbowl teams of the last 25 years I'm bitter?
Funny I only see 2 regular season wins for Foles and both were against garbage teams.Well, if you pointed it out, it must be true.
Since the Chargers played in the Super Bowl there have been 23 Superbowls (including this years) and 46 teams playing.
Why the Eagles ARE NOT one of the worst superbowl teams since the Chargers:
Metric #1 - Regular season record - Eagles are tied for the 10th best regular season record out of 46.
to be continued.......
So the two playoff wins aren't worth anything?Funny I only see 2 regular season wins for Foles and both were against garbage teams.
Right, so your premise is they are the worst of the Super Bowl teams because their starting QB only had two wins?Funny I only see 2 regular season wins for Foles and both were against garbage teams.Well, if you pointed it out, it must be true.

One of the issues for the Eagles is that Foles has never faced NE. I don’t remember what the record is in for QBs in their first starts against B.B. defenses, but I remember it was not good. Of course, most of those games were not against 13 win teams, so that makes things a bit different.Right, so your premise is they are the worst of the Super Bowl teams because their starting QB only had two wins?
How many of the Eagles' 53-man roster were there all season and amassed that overall record.
You do realize that, contrary to what network advertisers might lead you to believe, games are not decided by having the starting QBs in a staredown at midfield...
Undefeated in regular season and undefeated in post season. You are seeing what you want to see.Funny I only see 2 regular season wins for Foles and both were against garbage teams.
Foles just beat the best defense in football 38-7 and this Stafford fan is talking smack. So the two playoff wins aren't worth anything?
That's more than million dollar Stafford has in his life
You can't make this stuff up.
This is what I mean about playing with house money. How many Eagles fans thought our season was over when Wentz went down for the year? (I'll raise my hand, for sure). Oh sure, we'd make the playoffs. Wentz clinched that part. But we saw the Packers without Rodgers. And the Cowboys when Romo was lost for the year early 3 seasons ago. It suddenly became a 'wait till next year'. Most didn't dream of a playoff win. Let alone two. And no one could have predicted blowing out such a complete team like Minnesota. Unless the Eagles get manhandled 45-6 or something, there is no possible bad outcome of the game as for the future of this team. If they lose 24-17 to the best QB and team in league history with a backup MLB, LT, and QB? So what. Here is the truth.
If the Pats win then they are the best team and everyone thought they would win. No big deal.
If the Eagles win then the Pats just got beat by a Nick Foles lead team.![]()

I think the Minny win was flukey, Minny TO's really shifted momentum. Beating the Falcons doesn't impress me...one of the softest teams in football. I'm no Stafford honk but give him the Eagles supporting cast and he could pull off a winSo the two playoff wins aren't worth anything?
That's more than million dollar Stafford has in his life
Not a Stafford fan Chief. He's a 2nd tier QB at bestFoles just beat the best defense in football 38-7 and this Stafford fan is talking smack. You can't make this stuff up.
38-7 Is flukey. ?I think the Minny win was flukey,
I'm no Stafford honk but give him the Eagles supporting cast and he could pull off a win
Heard the same story in 2014 against the Seahawks. Heard the same story last season against the Falcons. You can float as many stats and theories out there as you want, but at the end of the day you know this game comes down to coaching. And who do you trust more, one of the best coaches of all time..or a guy who's from the Andy Reid coaching tree? You mean the guy who just dismantled the #1 defense in football?
They had the best record in the NFL.
They just beat the #2 seed 38-7 in the NFC Championship. Meanwhile, the Pats had to come from behind to beat Blake Bortles.
Probably best to stop while you're behind.
That might stand up if it was 17-14. Besides, it was 50 degrees with no wind.Minny joins a long line of dome teams that crapped the bed when having to play outdoors in January in the cold, crazy how lathered up people are getting with that win.
Lol. I beg to differ. The 2011 Patriots had one of the worst defenses in the league that season, and Edelman was a defensive back during most of their playoff run.Patriots are returning to the SB with a team that is much less talented then previous Brady / Belechick SB teams.

What happened to the Eagles the last time they played a great QB and offense on the road without Wentz? That's right, they haven't. This team has struggled all season on the road against good teams regardless. Meanwhile the Patriots have been one of the best road teams in the NFL over the past 2 seasons. That might stand up if it was 17-14. Besides, it was 50 degrees with no wind.
Back to the drawing board. Do better next time.
Weird. Really shows great coaching and offensive adjustments thoughCumulative score by quarter for NE in their 7 other TB Super Bowls.
1st - 0
2nd - 69
3rd - 23
4th & OT - 77
NE has yet to score in the first quarter.

Obviously, but considering 90% of the Eagles fans are part of the lower class I don't think many will be able to afford the cost of a ticket and trip to Minnesota. It's a neutral site.
