***Official Super Bowl XLII Game Thread*** (2 Viewers)

Regardless of the outcome of this game, or the recent controversy around the Patriots, I think we can all agree that the Giants not only were the best team in the NFC and belong in this Superbowl, but are one of the two best teams in the NFL. Another Patriots Superbowl, another nailbiter.
In the regular season, the Giants were average at best. Greatness in the playoffs doesn't not erase that fact.
haters. They were as good as anyone cept Dallas and the Pack during the regular season, better than most on the road. And it is all about scoreboard. When it counted, the Giants made it count, and Dallas and the Pack blew chunks.
That's not saying much. At any point in time an argument could have been made that the Giants, Seahawks, Bucs, Vikings, or Lions were the third best team in the NFC... and none of those teams were particularly outstanding in the regular season.

see, i want to agree w/ you but i watched my vikings obliterate these guys. i mean it wasn't even close. really, we're seeing a decent team click at exactly the right time.
My Packers obliterated them too.....Just not when it counted. Giants turned it on at the right time.
And the Bears destroyed the Packers. Bears = Best team in the NFC.
Thanks for that insight Roxanne
Say what?

Calling it now...Patriots 13-10 in the first SuperBowl OT.

Isn't the "game going into OT" prop something like 200-1?

How many of those teams won 10 straight on the road? And when were the Vikes or the Lions ever considered the third best team in the NFC in this decade, never mind this year?

Lions: first couple weeks of the seasonVikings: when we rolled through NYG, SD, etc.

Right now the biggest issues with the Giants is:

1. Overconfidence. That defense left the field way too excited for about 9 minutes in the game

2. Repeating mistakes. The main reason they lost the first game is because the Giants quit at the end and sat on the ball

#### that was close.

Does anyone else picture Woz as Kelso?

That Eli Manning incompletion to Burress and Toomer running a 1 yard short pattern are exactly what seperates good teams from great teams
